This just reaffirms my belief that Fantasy is just mechanicstasy. Fantasy's builds are pre-planned out, probably with help from coaches, and he does the same things every game. He has excellent mechanics which gives him a deadly arsenal but he's not a thinking-man Terran at all.

Why don't people understand that this was a pure build order win in the last game? FantaSy took the risk that he can't defend vs a Zerg that is 9pooling with that wall and Jaedong went 9 pool speed so FantaSy lost.
Its not a choke - he just took a risk and it didnt pay off.

In the 4pool game, I noticed that once jaedong pushed in with more lings to take down the bunker, he started attacking fantasy's scv line first a bit before he went for the bunker. I'm wondering if that was to trick fantasy into not desperation running for the bunker and instead thinking that JD was just going for the scvs instead, so his lings could get over before the scvs did?

yes. the purpose is twofold: first, to take focus away from the lings that are coming in from the other side (this is what happened, it's the terran's responsibility to have the presence of mind to notice the additional lings), and to force scvs to stack up which slows their progress to the bunker in case the terran does notice the additional lings

it was pretty much a flawless execution of basically the only attack that coulda salvaged that game for jaedong, really well done.

This reminded me of the last time Fantasy went against Jaedong.

He wins the first game or two with his vulture into valk strategy, and then gets steamrolled early game three times because he won't change up his plan.

He opened with a fast factory wall in every single game here, and got punished for it by JD.

you'd wanna puke

i was so eagerly anticipating a Fantasy 3-0 win after reading the LR of the first game and seeing how much he destroyed jaedong

then i returned home

and i see this result

what the fuck man =(

It was short and stout. Just like some poor terran was getting schooled by a much better player. Somehow reminds me of that gom finals vs bisu? bisu was doing great for a while but then just froze out and lost blatantly. The first game was quite good, second game jd showed his claws and on third he had set his gaze on prey already and things were done
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.

Are you kidding me? Fantasy had the game won vs the 4pool but was like "HEY IM SO COOL IM NOT GONNA DEFEND MY BUNKER!!! LOL I LET U WIN JAEDONG!"

I would fucking win that game if I played zerg.

No you wouldn't. Calm your nerd rage and think clearly for a moment. In fact I advise you to re-watch the game a couple times in the future and see why Jaedong won.

Also there were a LOT of mind games involved in that game.

edit: and LOL and you asking fakesteve to ban the "trolls" right after writing this horrible post.

Yeah Fantasy you still suck. You can cheese all you want but you can't win the important games, chokemaster.

lol you are an idiot

No I'm not, he's choked in important games 3 times now. Reminds me of a certain Khan player...

Losing a game or match doesn't necessarily mean the player choked or anything like it

No but losing like fantasy did in last 2 games definetly is a choke, that were more fantsy's lost games than jaedongs wins

LJD play is beautifull
it's like a classic music, like a symphony

he deserved everyone of his wins

what can fantasy do? some bunker cheese?
MSL mean much less than OSL after all
this OSL became Jaedong's coronation for the bownja, best of the best of the best al times, etc. title

it wasn't a good risk to take because it didn't have any potential benefit. why wall off against fast lings if the wall also fails against fast lings

people are definitely taking credit away from JD in terms of his perfect execution of that attack. flood lings into the mineral line, threatening to kill SCVs, then when fantasy responds by stacking his scvs he immediately switches to the bunker with the help of the other lings flanking.

Anyway, congrats to Jaedong. Set 2 was a good game from him.

Because it's hard to make a map where all 4 allows you to wall with correct spawn....since the map has to be symmetrical in some way.

This happens all the time...differences in bases are just part of the game....like weather in football or baseball affecting the game.

Besides, Fantasy could've done a rax-depot wall instead of his rax-fac wall.

Hey dude there were no mind games at all. If you survive a 4pool you defend, can it be easier? You have a vulture coming, how hard is it to defend ur bunker til then? Fantasy is just greedy

re-watch the games you are generalizing a very specific game into "4pool".

If you still think you would win that game as the zerg you are a very delusional person.

I mean it seriously: SC2 should have an option of choosing spawning points for the units that pop out of the Factories. Without it, many games will end like today's 4th one. Symmetrical maps are OK, but the thing is that BroodWar does not give a chance for your troops to be sent out where you really want to, so as a result, some walls are doomed to fail.
