Because it's hard to make a map where all 4 allows you to wall with correct spawn....since the map has to be symmetrical in some way.
This happens all the time...differences in bases are just part of the game....like weather in football or baseball affecting the game.

The thing is Jaedong opened with a completely standard build and was going to transition just fine into a regular build if his early lings didn't do much. Once he saw fantasy's position and the fact that he could do what he did, he instead decided to pump lings and keep the pressure on rather than just cutting ling production and continuing on with his regular build.
Also at all the jaedong hate: lol, how does the cheese taste from the other side now ^_____^

I mean choosing to wall like that despite his starting location on ROTK. that's a bad decision, you can't prepare a build that will outright die 75% of the time to a 9pool and expect to win an OSL semifinal is all
and yeah i have come to expect better snap reactions from fantasy than he showed against the second wave of that 4pool. lifting the command center should have been an automatic reaction after the first instance of what should have been an automatic reaction (more lings come = get to the bunker) failed to happen

4 pool takes balls to use since often it fucks up and most people can defend it easily
but the way fantasy just lets his bunker get taken out like that after a successful defend...argaoihggar
