It's that time again where we, the most elite website covering the Korean Starcraft progaming scene, decide, as a community, who will take home these classic mensrea no prizes.

There are some old categories, and some new categories this year, lets take a look at them.

The old include:

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

The Team of the Year Award

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

Game of the Year

and the new ones are....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

The Most Improved

Post your choices with a reason why they deserve the award. The players with the most votes wins that award.

Polls close Monday 7th January at 12:00AM KST.

NEW GUIDELINES:
To keep things fair,

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award - Must have played less than 10 games this year.
The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award - Must have debuted this year OR have played less than 5 games the previous year (2006).

At this time I can only think of one

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award goes to:

Firebathero - for his ceremony when he took off his shirt and danced with a floatation ring around him
If Barbie is so popular why do we have to buy her friends?

-For Garimto's player of the year award I think it should be Savior. Recently he hasn't been utterly dominating like he was but I think overall on the year he has done better than Bisu and Stork even though they are the two ahead of him on Kespa. He has been the most consistant all year. I think the reason it seems like he doesn't deserve it is because he stopped dominating as hard as he was so it seems like he isn't the top player this year... but he is.

-For Chojja's missing in action award, I think it should be Goodfriend because wtf happened to him?

-The most improved should go to Bisu because it is obvious that he has gone from an 'OK' pro gamer to an elite pro gamer.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year:
Bisu, even a Savior fanboy has to concede that

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player:
so many really, but pretty much most of ACE, including Mumyung lol

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award:
Not too many innovations this year, mostly refinements of previous strategies, though Oversky's proxy hatch was hax

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award:
Chojja is certainly still MIA, as is most of the KTF lineup

The Team of the Year Award:
uh... CJ just because

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award:
Mind winning the MSL

Game of the Year:
someone come up with a list and I'll pick one

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award:
JAEDONG, though not really a newcomer, Mind is only other new player in the PR

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances:
I'm sure the stat department can tell you, though I do know the worst is rA

The Most Improved:
no clue

The Goodfriend question has been answered many times (infact again like an hour ago).....search 20Nation.

Garimto - Bisu. He has just been stellar overall completely taking MSL by storm with that 3-0 and displaying his skill all over the board. You could argue Savior too but if i would still pick Bisu over him.

Mumyung - PokJu[S.G] That game vs Bisu where bisu proxy 2 gates behind Mujjuks mineral line...Mujjuk starts attackign the pylon with like 4 probes...doesn't go after the nme probe and gets raped -_-. Plus his stats are terrible.

BOxer - Oversky. Previously mentioned the proxy hatch vs Freedom.

Chojja award - Silver....MSL finals to huh?

Team of the Year - CJ Entus. THey have shown good performance all round and developed some new great players like Kwanro to take over the next generation. I refuse to vote for Lecaf or Khan...They use the same players and get their wins that way...little development of their lesser players. (sorry for carlo style ...s)

WTF Moment - Tasteless going to Korea lol. Does that count? It totally should.

Sea Award - edit: changed my mind. Mind. Been destroying in PL and individual leagues,....i hope he keeps it up.

rA award - No real pick...probably Jaedong/Mind

Most Improved - Xellos. Im not really sure if he should count or not but he has had such marked improvement recently and is really showing his perfect terran style again.

Game of the Year - i cant make an informed choice

edit: thanks Kizz

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
Bisu. As much as I hate to say it, he's been putting up good results in every single individual league.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
I have two nominations:
1. Clon. A wonderful 5-16 record for 2007, including a 9-game losing streak. Why does Ace keep putting him in 1v1s? No one knows.
But at least Clon has the excuse of being an old-schooler, out of practice, in the military, etc. Not this next guy though...
2. Casy: After his 3-2 loss to Nada in the Shinhan 3 OSL, he has amassed a grand total of 5 wins and 19 losses, and is currently on a 9-game losing streak.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Upmagic... for being himself.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Goodfriend...

The Team of the Year Award
Lecaf. 2nd place in proleague during the 1st round of 2007, and now in the 2nd round they've secured their spot in the finals

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Two nominations:
1. FBH running around Savior after beating him in the RO8 in MSL.
2. Chrh beating Bisu in proleague on Monty Hall

Game of the Year
No clue, too many to choose from.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Flash, in his debut OSL he gets to the semis, and after that is able to qualify for OSL again. He is practically the only reason why KTF isn't at the bottom of the proleague rankings. (and a 61.90% win rate with no weak match-up!)

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Anytime. He has 30 or something wins this year in proleague alone. Insane.

The Most Improved
Stork. He went from a failed prodigy to actually coming to potential, being his team's ace for proleague and getting to the finals of multiple starleagues.

Team of the Year:
Hanbit.

They were doing quite bad and none of their players seem to show any dominance. Now GGPlay won last OSL and has a pretty okay Proleague record. Free is also doing pretty exceptional. The team was looking to have a good chance a the finals also, but that didnt happen. I still think they should get this award.

Game of the Year:
Bisu vs. Savior Game 2 @ EVER OSL , nuff said. I have never been that into a game of SC in my life. Even yelling at the screen telling the observer to go to cover the game better.

edited Sea award

Garimto Award-
+ Show Spoiler +
Bisu- During the 2007 year he was the closest to the bonjwa title. He won GomTV 1 and 2 and was the runner up in season 3. In his first MSL win, he dismantled the strongest ZvP player in the world and in his second final appearance, he beat Stork in an epic bo5 series. He revolutionized PvZ by making FE sair builds popular and shows consistent play in starleagues. During this year, all is losses were considered upsets therefore showing the reputation he has gained as best player of 2007.

Mumyung Award-
+ Show Spoiler +
Casy- He started the year off by getting to the OSL semi-final then just dies off after that. He losses to NaDa, 3-0 to Iris right after, and then 3-1 to a falling sAviOr. He has lost a massive amount of games and is on a 9game losing streak. Half of his wins came in the first 2 months of the year. In 2006, Casy won a Starleague because of his strong TvT and TvZ yet he can barely even make the proleague roster now.

Boxer Award-
+ Show Spoiler +
Silver- I haven't seen him play much at all during this year, but when I thought of creativity, I thought of Silver on Monty Hall. He was able to dominate two Terran opponents using the same build and it helped GGplay even the score out in the OSL Final. Silver was able to effectively control the type of map he was playing on. Early game, he easily secured 3 undisturbed gas geysers by cutting off Terran's lane for harrassment. Late game he breaks out with hydra guards and dominates his opponent. A simple yet extremely effective build that deserves the boxer-esque creativity award

Chojja Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Kingdom- TLPD shows you had 6 games in 2007... wtf?

Team of the Year Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Lecaf OZ- Proleague round 1, they were the top team in the regular season only losing to Khan in the finals. Khan has been losing quite a bit in round 2 while Oz is the number 1 team again.

The WTF moment
+ Show Spoiler +
No question it is Bisu 3-0 over sAviOr. Some protoss kid makes it to the finals of a starleague and is up against the freaking maestro of zerg. sAviOr is the freaking king of ZvP and this kid annihilates him 3-0!? Wow is all anybody could say

Game of the Year
+ Show Spoiler +
sAviOr vs Iris Shinhan 3 OSL Semi-Final Game 5 @ Arkanoid- This game is freaking insane. Iris is constantly pressuring and harrasing while sAviOr shows god-like defense.

Sea Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Mind- Cuz of his impressive MSL run and eventual win. Original pick in the spoiler+ Show Spoiler +
Hwasin- Mind won a starleague but didn't have many games other than the ones in the MSL. I heard of Jaedong early 2006 because he won proleague r1's rookie MVP so he wasn't really unknown at the start of 2007. Hwasin caught some attention when he beat sAviOr in proleague but he wasn't really known until this year. He made a crap load of starleagues and went pretty far in a few of them. He has played almost 100 games this year and has a win percentage of about 60. He is strong in all 3 matchups and was considered to be the strongest Terran mid-late year. I still think Hwasin is the strongest Terran even though Mind has an MSL under his belt.

rA Award-
+ Show Spoiler +
Stork- I can't really judge by quality of play in games because I haven't watched all the games of Sea, Stork, Free, and Anytime. I do know though that Stork won proleague mvp for round 1 so I will go with him.

The Most Improved
+ Show Spoiler +
Rock- Rock showed some semi-decent play this year. Many people are probably thinking wtf, but when I think about Rock's past accomplishments, he has improved alot. This year I remember him winning the OSC. Before this year I knew him as, the guy who got completely raped by July, the guy who lost to Boxer's bunker rush, and the guy who got outmicroed by Reach. When you look at it that way, he has improved alot

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;

Bisu, just because. His individual league performance speaks for itself.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

Someone from Ace. I'll give it to Clon.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

If Silver's Monty Hall prox-hatch build is 2007, that. If not, Upmagic I guess.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

KTF in general. Goodfriend?

The Team of the Year Award

Lecaf.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

Most things involving FBH and Savior. Either the dance, or Savior ragequitting. I give it to the dance.

Game of the Year

Bisu vs Savior on Katrina in OSL game 2. That shit was intense.

and the new ones are....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;

Flash. Solid PL performance, probably the only person KTF can rely on right now.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

Anytime for good, rA for bad.

The Most Improved

Stork I guess.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year

There just can't be any debate on this one: Bisu was the best player of 2007. Two MSL wins, an MSL second place, and an OSL third place? In a single year? Come on.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

Clon's actually a better player than the statistics make him out to be. No, the real candidate for this award is Justin, with his 9-22 record in 2007 and current 13-game losing streak.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

As much as I hate his play, Silver's ZvT build on Monty Hall was a stroke of genius, especially given how many crybaby Zergs were bitching about the map's TvZ balance.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

How about GoodFriend? GF went from a perennial Starleague participant to missing the major leagues entirely AND getting booted from KTF. He hasn't even played a game since August.

The Team of the Year Award

I don't really care who wins this; the Proleague is boring. Khan or HERO probably deserves it. SKT1, KTF, eSTRO, Ace, FOX, Soul, and Hanbit are clearly out of the running, anyway.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

KTF demoting GoodFriend, Chojja, and Aqua.

Game of the Year

Game 5 of the OSL final between Iris and GGPlay. Just... wow. I may be forgetting a few games, but that's the one that really sticks out in my mind.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award

You can make a case for Mind, Jaedong, or Flash. Flash debuted in 2007, so he's a good candidate. Mind and Jaedong's first televised games were in early 2006. You could argue that they're not newcomers, but I wouldn't; they didn't come into their own until 2007.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

Stork or Sea.

The Most Improved

DarkElf. The guy went from punching bag to legitimate player. Despite debuting in late 2005, DarkElf had only played 12 televised games before 2007, earning a 3-9 record in that span of time. In 2007, DarkElf went 29-20 and made the OSL twice. Then he got stuck with two of the hardest groups in the history of the sport. In Daum, DE's group consisted of him, Nada, Bisu, and Hwasin. In EVER 2007, it was him, Jaedong, Stork, and Nada. He's been a consistent Proleague performer for CJ, and getting play in the PL means that a player is doing well in the in-team tournaments, as well.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
+ Show Spoiler +
When you look at the contenders (Bisu/Savior/Stork) it can only go to Bisu; Bisu won two MSLs to Saviors OSL, Storks two second places and a WCG - if stork had won himself the OSL then i think the award wouldve gone to him desptie the fanboys

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
+ Show Spoiler +
Casy - while you could go out naming shitty A level gamers (hello pokju?) you jsut cant ignore this former OSL champ preforming so badly this year (bar a semi-final)

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
+ Show Spoiler +
The ACE 2v2 team who consistently brought new strategies to the table and became a force in their own.
If its a single person award then this goes to Silver for his innovation on Monty Hall

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Which player;
Lost 2-0 to Gorush in GomTV MSL 2 in the round of 16 (ie real stage of MSL)
Lost 1-2 to the group stages of GomTV MSL 3 (ro32 ie old survivor)
Was prevented entering EVER OSL by losing to darkelf
Lost to Much in the OSC S2 Final
And hasnt made an OSL all year?
+ Show Spoiler +

Sea[Shield] - for a man who has done so much in Proleague, boasts the 7th rank in the Powerrank - where the fuck were you this year?

The Team of the Year Award
+ Show Spoiler +
CJ Entus - not that they were a dominant force in PL rnd 1, but they are doing so well this season and they have a plethora of players soaking both leagues

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
+ Show Spoiler +
ChRh defeating bisu in proleague (and then bisu losing to boxer) - while not as extravagant as bisu defeating savior, but this was ChRh's first victory in 1402 days against the new bonjwa else the new protoss god. No one in their right mind predicted this to happen - atleast rekrul, FA (amongst others) voted for bisu against savior - no one gave ChRh a chance.

Game of the Year
+ Show Spoiler +
Sea vs Reach on hitchhiker - if not, deserves comeback of the year

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
+ Show Spoiler +
Mind, earning a title as the youngest player ever as a complete newcomer as well as having the most difficult road to get there earns him this

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
+ Show Spoiler +
Sea - him and pusan kept MBC afloat this year; sea having the better record and thus taking the award

The Most Improved
+ Show Spoiler +
Jaedong; dude, you lost to Rock in the OSC final and now you defeated Stork also - you picked up right where savior left of and improved your zvt to the level of legend; you also walked the royal road - this award is yours

Next year, include comeback of the year

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
Bisu. 2 MSL wins, 3rd place OSL, 2nd place MSL. Enough said.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
I haven't watched any games involving really subpar players, so I'll just go with statistics and say Clon.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Since this is the Boxer award, I'll go with Upmagic since he's been showing a creative gameplay style in important matches.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Goodfriend. Where is this guy?

The Team of the Year Award
Lecaf Oz. Consistent proleague performance throughout the year allows them to easily win this award.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Bisu 3-0 Savior. Sure, maybe a few people thought Bisu could win, but nobody in their right mind would've predicted a completely dominating 3-0 from Bisu in that series.

Game of the Year
There's too many. Only a top 10 would do this justice. Also, a lot of the time recent games that are still fresh in our memory stand out a bit more than older top games.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Flash the wonderkid. Although he might've been a bit overhyped initially, he's still a solid player that KTF can depend on.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Either Stork or Anytime, but since Stork did pretty decently in individual leagues as well, Anytime deserves this award more.

The Most Improved
Jaedong? He was always a ZvZ and ZvT monster, but he has shown massive improvement in ZvP against Stork. Although we'll still have to see if it was a real improvement or just a one-time fluke.

These awards should reflect the entire year rather than just the past few months, which many people's choices so far don't seem to recognize.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;

I would give this to Bisu. He made more finals appearances than any other player this year at three and won two of those three. He also has a third place finish and a round of right finish. He got to the quarterfinals in five of the six leagues of the year. he didn't qualify for the sixth and the qualification season was during the previous year. that means any time when league qualification was on the line, he pulled through (though that was only twice). he is not as dominant as players in the past who have won this award, but his strength has really only been put into doubt/question recently here at team liquid. For an overall look at this year, it's difficult not to see Bisu as a hot item.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

I will give this to Jangbi. Samsung keeps sending him out in proleague, but he rarely ever wins. At least Clon can lay claim to 2v2 victories, but not Jangbi. As a newer player who does well during practice, he has not shown much power on screen. When he makes it into the leagues he only barely manages to and then falls right out of them in the group stage, much like the Mumyung of old. sure, he may have been runner up for the Star256 tournament (which a lot of your surely haven't heard of), but being runner up is still not a win. No other player this year reminds me of the Mumyung of past more than Jangbi. I also want to be sure to give this award to a player that people have at least heard of.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

Upmagic, for his unique approach and non-standard play. For a player who does not rely on standard builds, he is able to blend non standard game options and turn them into more standard builds at just the right time in games. He gets further into starleagues this year than other creative players and is one of eStro's Aces to boot. The only other player I would honestly consider this for would be Boxer, but UpMagic has shown better results.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

Kingdom. He has a total of six televised matches this year. He has not qualified for a starleague, only gotten out of preliminaries once, and is a rare appearance for SKT in Proleague. People who are suggesting players like Goodfriend, Yellow and Chojja forget that these players all had many appearances in the first round of proleague this year and it wasn't until the second part of the year that they disappeared. Kingdom has been missing in action the whole year with only a few appearances and none of them near to each other.

The Team of the Year Award

Lecaf Oz. They made it to the finals of the first proleague season, and will finish in first going into this season's playoffs. That locks them for a finals appearances in both seasons of the year. Additionally a member of the Lecaf team has taken an OSL title this year: Jaedong. No other team can boast a more impressive overall performance.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

Bisu defeating Savior 3-0 in GomTV MSL Finals. Savior was an extreme favorite, having stamped out every other protoss opposition in the past and this (at the time) nobody Bisu comes out of nowhere to snatch a Starleague title right from under Savior's nose. Everyone was surprised at the result of those finals; and if you say you aren't you are either lying or at the time you were mentally insane.

Game of the Year

Savior vs. Iris on Neo Arkanoid, Shinhan 3 OSL, Semifinals, Game 5. With nearly everything on the line, a finals appearance that would likely have been a win for either player, both Savior and Iris played at top form. Not only was this one of the most exciting games of the year, it was between two high-profile teammates, it was in a match with high stakes, the finals of a best of five match, and had the audience on their toes nearly the entire time. Nothing about this game is anything but spectacular.

and the new ones are....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;

Mind. Most of the other players that can be considered for this category were somewhat known in the proscene prior to this year. Not Mind, if you know who mind was prior to 2007, then it wasn't because you were paying attention to starleagues or proleague. Before this year Mind was a third string player, but now he is worthy of a starting lineup. he came out and took the title in his first starleague appearance and was at least partially responsible for WeMade turning itself around and nearly earning a playoff spot for the second half of the Proleague this year. Flash is a very close runner up for basically the same reasons. Actually I am changing my mind to Flash. he qualified for four starleagues this year, and made it to the quarterfinals of his first OSL. In addition he has been a solid performer in Proleague and looks to have a lot of promise in the future. He literally had not played televised before this year and has shown that he can be a force to be reckoned with.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

Anytime. with three matches left in the season he is only one game behind free's record of 17 wins last season, a season which he was not far behind in total wins. In the two combined seasons Anytime has time and time again been sent out as the team's Ace. Out of all the times he is sent out for the Closer match, he has only fallen once, against UpMagic in the first season. Anytime pulls the Lecaf team in proleague. No other player matches Anytime's win total this year, at an impressive 30.

The Most Improved

Stork. he had less than a 50% win record for 2006, and he stormed into this year looking like the player that Boxer might have predicted as a next big thing. with more than twice as many game wins as losses this year Stork has made it to both an MSL and OSL finals. he cometed in five of the year's six leagues. He led his team to victory in the first season of proleague and was Samsung's main Ace for both seasons. He overtook the #1 Kespa rank for a month. To top it off he had a finals appearance in WCG Korea and went on to win the Grand Finals in Seattle. Stork wasn't spectacular prior to 2007, but it's difficult not to notice his presence and improvement throughout the year.

edit: I don't see how Jaedong can be considered for best newcomer as he was busy getting an MVP in last year's proleague.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
bisu, obviously, from season 1 until mind the year was all him, with the exception of a couple mm allins.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
justin(if we arent counting 2v2). an ongoing 13 game loss streak, as soon as they fixed the mappool he stopped winning. also just as disliked as mumyung

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
upmagic. people have been begging for a non-standard terran since boxer went to the air force. here he is.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
jju. he was never dominating and not very well liked, but he was pretty successful in 06, a consistent good performer in both starleagues. then in 07 he dropped off the face of the earth, lost in survivor and odt and never came back. doesnt even play proleague for a team that would be incredibly hard to beat if they had another consistent 1v1er.

The Team of the Year Award
CJ. constantly turning out great individual league performances(4 of top 8 in gom2?) as well as solid proleague records. unlike samsung and lecaf they dont rely on 2 players to carry them through proleague, which works but doesnt make for an overall best team.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
bisu beating savior in gom1. a nobody toss, came out of nowhere, everyone counted him out. goes on vacation for a week before the match. 3-0s the best zvp ever with ease.

Game of the Year
hard to say having not watched all of them. savior vs iris on arkanoid is a good bet. showcased savior's zvt dominance perfectly, right before his downfall. was also a wtf moment for iris. before that he was cast as a solid tvt/tvp player who would never succeed and couldnt tvz for his life. that certainly changed quick.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
mind certainly turned the most heads, dont know if hes the best.
flash would probably be the best. hes worked off the (unfair) title of cheese newb with a string of straight up wins on good opponents to go with his 4th place osl at the age of what.. 15?

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
stork. sea and anytime have had consistant strong performances, as well as a few others, but so has stork, and stork is the one who got the season 1 title.

The Most Improved
hwasin. a mediocre one matchup wonder in late 2006 turned into the 2nd best player in the world in 2007. had his peak not coincided with bisu's hed have at least one starleague right now.

Clon's actually a better player than the statistics make him out to be. No, the real candidate for this award is Justin, with his 9-22 record in 2007 and current 13-game losing streak.
that's true in 1v1, but you have to admit he has a lot of skills (along with a nice winning record) in 2v2, though. so i wouldn't say that justin would be the best candidate for the Mumyung award.

Just voting on the ones I have opinions about....

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
+ Show Spoiler +
Bisu. He's had the most success in the starleagues, and I think that's what should matter most for this award. Honorable mentions: Stork 68% overall win percentage, WCG title, multiple 2nd and 3rd place finishes; Jaedong 64% overall win percentage, OSL title; Sea[Shield] 67% overall win percentage.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
+ Show Spoiler +
ChRh. He's 1-5 for 2007 for a miserable 16.67%. Although there are statistically worse players for 2007 (amazing they have jobs, eh?), I chose ChRh because his only win this year came against the player I picked for the Garimto award: Bisu. So not only does ChRh suck, but he doesn't even suck reliably... damaging people's liquidbet scores when he has no business winning.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Silver. For his imbalance-fixing strat on Monty Hall, as seen here.

The Team of the Year Award
+ Show Spoiler +
MBCGame HERO. They've been incredibly successful this year.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
+ Show Spoiler +
Firebathero. For his dance after beating Savior.

Game of the Year
+ Show Spoiler +
Firebathero v Savior, Game 1, Python, GOMTV MSL S2. Firebathero had absolutely no business winning that game. And yet, he did. Watch it is you don't remember it.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
+ Show Spoiler +
Flash. Not only did he have a breakout year in 2007 that had folk talking about him, whether they loved him or hated him. I think this was actually his first year as a pro, making him an actual newcomer.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
+ Show Spoiler +
Stork. He's had the most success this year in proleague, imo. Honorable mentions go to Sea[Shield] and Anytime, for their stellar performances.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
This cannot be challanged, there is one candidate only. That is Bisu, winning 2 golds out of 3 MSLs and taking the silver in the 3rd, and scoring a bronze in the OSL puts him ahead of evreyone this year. He proved himself in evrey Match up, and Bonjwa in PvZ. Decimating a Bonjwa in his best MU out of nowhere is just a plus, just as revolutionizing an entire MU. If Stork actually won Season 2 and won this OSL their roles would be reversed.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
The stats speak for themselves

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
I would say Upmagic is the best candidate for this one, who showed us some inspirational creative play this year, very similar to Boxer, He could be called Boxer's Heir. If Upmagic cannot take it, then give it to Boxer. Or you gotta give props to Oversky's Proxy hatch vs Freedom, that was Rapetastic.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Hey there cheerleader or just half of KTF

The Team of the Year Award
Lecaf showed some pretty amazing play this year, Jaedong and Anytime hold up the team pretty well.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Mind coming out of nowhere, raping Oov, Savior and Bisu and winning the MSL.Or Bisu beating Savior 3-0 in GOMTV1

Game of the Year
Savior vs Iris Game 5 on Araknoid was the best game ever played this year, so epic, so intense, amazing game.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
You can make a case for both Mind and Jaedong, but I would vote for Mind just for the simplicity, of raping evreyone in his way in the MSL without anyone expecting it.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Stork showed some amazing PL play this year, through all the seasons.

The Most Improved
Stork turned from another Protoss player, to the first protoss player ever ranked #1 in Kespa. He showed some amazing play this year, holding pretty well in all of the 3 leagues, the OSL, MSL,and PL. With a 68% average winrate this year, 75% in PvT,54% in Pvz, and 70% in PvP he is arguably statistically the best P this year, or even all time.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
Bisu - no contest

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Casy
Casy went from semifinals in the OSL in the beginning of the year to being absolutely terrible.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Upmagic - his nonstandard builds work more often than you'd expect and are fun to watch unfold

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Kingdom - too bad about his arm

The Team of the Year Award
Based on players on team - CJ
Based on proleague - lecaf

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Bisu 3-0 savior in gom msl 1

Game of the Year
Hwasin vs sAviOr - GOMTV MSL S1 Semifinal game 2 on desert fox
In the end, Savior put a hatch in the center and used a nydus canal to have units in wait for when Hwasin mined his mineral only leading to the center

and the new ones are....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Flash - good proleague, individual league results

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Stork - higher winning percentage than Sea or Anytime, almost always used (and wins) as Ace

The Most Improved
Stork - from being a punching bag in the beginning of the year to being probably the most consistent player overall in the end. The majority of his Z losses this year are from Savior, Jaedong, and GGplay.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
Bisu. I dont think anyone can argue with this.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
So many... I will go with Casy since he has just been hard to watch

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Going with the obvious choice of Upmagic.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
I know he has been gone awhile... yellow

The Team of the Year Award
CJ. Their up and coming squad is impressive and their vets are solid.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Mind beating Bisu. Like 5 people predicted that and 4 of them were lying to themselves.

Game of the Year
I still have to go with MSL Game 5 Bisu v Stork. Mostly because of the stakes and the overall quality of play. Though the recent match between Bisu and GGplay was very quality.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Jaedong hands down. Best ZvT and ZvZ at the moment. Flash is good but Jaedong has dominance potential into 2008.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
I'm going to go with Sea for being steady throughout the year.

The Most Improved
I'm going with the out of no where vote with Yarnc. I wrote him off awhile ago but his play lately espeically zvz has been really impressive. I know a lot of people say Stork but I feel he just wasnt playing up to his potential which is somewhat different from improving. I would say Hwasin but he has been playing less than spectacular since his last MSL loss to Bisu in my opinion.

edit: I don't see how Jaedong can be considered for best newcomer as he was busy getting an MVP in last year's proleague.

I think its because he had his first MSL/OSL appearances recently (royal roading OSL)

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year; Bisu hands no need to explain top player for 2007 been in 3 finals winning 2 and 3rd place for osl

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Dont know

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Silver for his zvt build for monty hall other than that boxer his proleague games had some fun builds like 4 vult drop against zerg, biomech against terran. Up to for his fast +1 armor biomech build

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Goodfriend i havent seen him at all literally and midas

The Team of the Year Award
Dont know probably lecaf

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
savior losing 3-0 to bisu and mind winning msl

Game of the Year
Iris vs savior game 5 on arkanoid just plain back and forth action everytime savior dark swarms iris just runs around it

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
haran? He seems to have potential very good zvt and flash

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Sea known to dominate proleague just hasnt done much in osl/msl and anytime

The Most Improved
Hwasin hwasin hwasin. He really improved alot. Around where he won wcg qualifiers.
Also when he won stx cup when stx was down 1-3 he won all 3 games to make it 4-3 knocking out bisu. Beating savior and stork.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award should go to Bisu for his awesome pvz build that has completely changed how PvZ is played.

A lot of people say Upmagic but if you think about it even though he has so many builds he made himself, none have had any impact on the game itself, while Bisu's creativity actually will forever change the game. I suppose Upmagic is more creative, while Bisu is more inspirational.

bad luck
jaedong was a newcomer back in 2006.
chojja and goodfriend went missing back in september-ish, 9 months is a long time to play games.

I am displaying blatant bias here, but...

Player of the year

Either Bisu or Jaedong. But I think Bisu has been much more consistent throughout the year.

Missing in Action:

ForGG. I thought he'd be appearing in the proleague all the time, but he's just... disappeared.

Team of the year:

It's either CJ or MBC. Lecaf may be at the top of the table, but they are not a team. They are 2 good players and 1 rather good one. Both CJ and MBC have damned solid line ups. They can easily push out 5 to 7 players, each of which have about a 60% chance to win, and these players are a mix of old and new.

The most improved:

This has to be Xellos. For the past two years, he'd been playing so unbelievably badly that even if he won three games a year he'd win the most improved player award. Now he's suddenly a very, very strong player. There are others who are better than him, but nobody who's come from such a low level.

Actually, now I think about it, MIND is another super improved player this year. From nowhere to OSL winner. Zooming up 35 places in the KESPA rankings. Hmm...

100% agreed, lecaf will never win the proleague with 2 players (they were lucky forgg was in form last season)

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

jju. he was never dominating and not very well liked, but he was pretty successful in 06, a consistent good performer in both starleagues. then in 07 he dropped off the face of the earth, lost in survivor and odt and never came back. doesn’t even play proleague for a team that would be incredibly hard to beat if they had another consistent 1v1er.

The Team of the Year Award

Lecaf Oz. They made it to the finals of the first proleague season, and will finish in first going into this season's playoffs. That locks them for a finals appearance in both seasons of the year. Additionally a member of the Lecaf team has taken an OSL title this year: Jaedong. No other team can boast a more impressive overall performance.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;

mind certainly turned the most heads, don’t know if his the best.
flash would probably be the best. His worked off the (unfair) title of cheese newb with a string of straight up wins on good opponents to go with his 4th place osl at the age of what.. 15?
The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Two nominations:
1. FBH running around Savior after beating him in the RO8 in MSL.
2. Chrh beating Bisu in proleague on Monty Hall

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
Bisu. I still don't like his play, but I have great respect for the man and he did completely annihlate the MSL, (1st, 2nd) and 3rd in OSL. Shit.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
pepe or piano. They make me want to give up Terran and take up zerg.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

Oversky. Proxy Hatch = Genius
Ling skip through pylon wall = Genius
3 hatch lings > Beesuit = Genius

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Goodfriend. Where were you buddy?

The Team of the Year Award
KTF. Despite their complete ineptitude as a team, they still have an awesome theme song.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
FBH's pelvic thrusting and savior's rage.

Game of the Year
Chrh vs. Bisu. Kmon. That was a crazy game.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Mind comes in just under the limit with only 4 games in 2006, and he won an MSL, so go figure. O.O

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Sea. Sea is HOT in proleague right now.

The Most Improved
Xellos. Used to be complete crap after 2004, but he's picking it up with his quarterfinal position in MSl. Perfect Terran Hwaiting!

Actually I think Bisu's build definately can go under this category too, because it's simply that revolutionary

Boxer's Award - Upmagic.
Do you remember his MNM builds on Nemesis? Or how many times has Upmagic simply been Upmagic? Who's Silver? Does he play Starcraft? Damn, he really misplaced his hatchery. But I seen Up play a lot ... and wow? he did what? That's creative!!! Plus, he repeatedly used the build, and even adopted it for HitchHiker usage. Plus, thats NOT HIS ONLY BUILD. Unlike some others.

It'd be cool if Chojja won his own award.

Most Improved?? Hwasin. I don't think this requires too much explanation. The boy made himself from LOL STX terran to.. O damn. it's STX's only player -_-;; and foundation... Hwasin.
- Also maybe Mind - -;; 0-5 2006 to MSL champ... good job?

WTF moments are probably...I wanna say FBH but I really dislike how he plays, I find it boring until maybe 3 hours in when he can mass restore every unit in a second - that's sorta cool. But thinking of ceremonies, I can't get Rock's jump kick, and neck slice out of my head... No.. when Rock lost his chin... YES. WHEN ROCK LOST HIS CHIN... It took me a moment...

Proleague is Bosung, duh? Anytime is almost but it's hard being a protoss. I assume this is in tribute to Ra of like 05 and 04 and such?

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year

The two candidates are Stork and Bisu imo. Stork was an absolute monster in Proleague and led Samsung to the championship, while picking up a WCG 2007 title, a 2nd in OSL and a 2nd in MSL. Meanwhile Bisu destroyed everyone in MSL, picking up two firsts and a 2nd. But Bisu was also terrible in Proleague, nevertheless.. have to give it to Bisu here. If Stork had won an OSL, it might have been a tossup.. but since he didn't I think Bisu has a decent edge there.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

I always give this award to backho, but he recently took down Iris and Hogil? and qualified for OSL lol. Allright I'll do a safe pick and pick Calm, he's pretty bad. It's not fair to pick anyone from Ace, since they dont get to practice as much.. But H.O.T is probably the worst player in progaming right now.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

There is like a million candidates here, if you talk about revolutionizing a matchup like Boxer did with the invention of his 8 barrack TvZ - then you gotta give it to Bisu for revolutionizing PvZ. But if you want to talk about a single amazing play, there was none better than Casy's fake FE against July back in early 2007 in OSL - I have not seen anything so creative/awesome in a long time.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Can't think of anyone that qualifies here. I'd like to give it to JJu, or Goodfriend.. both guys that were super consistent and solid and in 2007 they have disappeared off the map. Also wanted to give it to Silver/Daezang but I believe that none of them qualified. Kingdom gets the award here, he completely disappeared in 2007 and he was consistently decent in 2006.

The Team of the Year Award

Gotta give it to Samsung, they won the title and deservedly so. They're struggling atm and I think it's mostly because their 2v2 has been terrible since ssigamari started playing poker.....
The best/deepest overall 1v1 team though, is undoubtedly CJ - even their minor league players are godly.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Chrh beating Bisu in proleague. Seriously WHAT THE FUCK??
Also candidates are : Bisu beating Savior 3-0 and PJ beating Savior 2-1?

Game of the Year

I will give it to Iris vs sAviOr in game 5 of OSL on neo arkanoid. Sickest game ever

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Id love to give it to Bisu since he didn't emerge as a force in progaming until early 2007.. but since I dont think he qualifies, I will give it to Flash since he debuted in 2007 and quickly became KTF's best player at the age of 16.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

I'll give it to Stork, although Jaedong and Sea are also good candidates.

The Most Improved
Could give it to any number of players, including Bisu.. but here I will give it to Stork since he was pretty mediocre in 2006(was only good on 815).. now he's a beast and nobody wants to play him.

ChRh defeating bisu in proleague (and then bisu losing to boxer) - while not as extravagant as bisu defeating savior, but this was ChRh's first victory in 1402 days against the new bonjwa else the new protoss god. No one in their right mind predicted this to happen - atleast rekrul, FA (amongst others) voted for bisu against savior - no one gave ChRh a chance.

hahaha omg i can't believe I forgot this. I was at Artosis' house when this happened and I remember sitting in his room watching it with him. ChRh / Boxer owning Bisu... jesus that was such a good moment.

Best newcomer also needs to be Stork. He wasn't a shitty player in 2006, but he turned into one of the best this year.

I think I agree with most of the choices put out, but I want to emphasize that there is no way that Lecaf can win the Best Team Award.
Yes, they have two solid proleague performers, but as we've glimpsed in the minor league results, they really have nothing outside of Jaedong/Anytime (And sometimes ForGG).
I would give the award to CJ, for continuing to churn out exciting 1v1 players, while supporting a strong veteran cast (Cuban Gangster, DDR terran, and Old-mantoss).

Edit: Oh yeah, and Beserker Terran. Damn, CJ is loaded.

A close runner-up would be Samsung Khan, because they were simply invincible in season one (Stork/FBH/Sigimari2v2).

Guess you missed this part:
"Post your choices with a reason why they deserve the award"?

Guess you missed the part when a ton of posters did the same before me? It's king of VERY HARD to miss, and I didn't see you quoting any of them.
And why the hell would I need to practically repost the very same reasons several posters already mentioned about the very same players/games or you need explanations like "Jaedong is the most improved, because he improved the most"? I thought this thread is for posters that actually follow progaming and don't need basic and obvious things explained.
You didn't even post a damn list and you complain about others, what a douchebag...

Don't know if it qualifies as a moment, but keeping that damn DMZ map for so long was really WTF

EDIT: DDR Terran chucking socks is pretty WTF as well, + FBH's ceremonies... so much material to choose from. What about Rek's $12k win off of Zephyr? Gonna be a tough choice this year.

(T)Casy - gone since the start of the year.
Or maybe (Z)Silver

The Team of the Year Award

(P)Bisu 3-0 (Z)sAviOr

I'm going to try to be different in my picks, just giving a view that I haven't seen so far yet.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
Bisu. Ok, I said I was going to give a different view on things, but I don't think you can contest this. Right now he's looking a little shaky but for most of the year he was the scariest player around.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
The Reach/rA duo. It's been painful to watch their games lately, seeing Reach getting 0-2'd out of his OSC group and rA losing to everybody in proleague. rA has had some success in the MSL, but he's had pretty easy groups and forGG got disqualified (if he hadn't been such an idiot he would have easily won with his MnM rush vs. FE). As legends of the game, their play has been extremely disappointing lately.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
How about Jaedong? From EE HAN TIMING to infolings, it looks like the play for ZvP will be different from here on out. Also, his heavy reliance on Lair tech is something I haven't seen before.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
[NC]Yellow. Where the heck are you?

The Team of the Year Award
ACE. Get together a bunch of old favorites with BoxeR at the helm, and what do you get? A huge fanbase (especially for a last place team) and free advertising. Did you hear the girls screaming after ACE 3-0'd STX?

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
forGG, why, why are you so stupid?

Game of the Year
We've seen a lot of great games this year, but I think the most intense that I've watched (despite what people might say about whether or not it was close) is sAviOr vs. Bisu on Katrina in the OSL Ro8.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Kal. I really don't like the guy, but he's 26-16 in 2007 with a 67% winrate since June, and he looked quite confident in his 2-0 of his MSL survivor group

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Anytime. 'nuff said

The Most Improved
Hwasin, looks like he's matured a lot recently

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
Bisu. 2 MSL titles, 1 MSL 2nd place, Consistent OSL threat. Bonjwa candidate

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Jangbi, lowest ELO of all active players.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Casy. Fake FE vs July on RLT

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Goodfriend. Can't think of anything witty to put here

The Team of the Year Award
CJ. Consistent talent pump

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Bisu 3 - 0 SAvior GOM MSL s1. Best zvp in the world, after down 0-2 I was EXPECTING him to come back 3-2 and wouldn't be surprised if it happened even after the first two rape.

Game of the Year
Savior vs Iris OSL on Arkanoid. non-stop TvZ action, pressure from terran, defense from zerg, scv drop

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Mind. MSL champion

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Anytime. He's availalbe for Lecaf, anytime of the year

The Most Improved
Jaedong. Just another zerg to OSL champion with the best zvt and zvz on the planet.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

Bisu, read above =P

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

Kingdom. I definitely want to see this guy back in top form this upcoming year.

The Team of the Year Award

Samsung for not winning a title but roaring back as of late to fight for the 4th playoff spot.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

Oversky's proxy hatch made me rofl so much.

Game of the Year

I really need to see that Iris/Savior match =/ With that exception how bout NaDa beating oov not too long ago in the proleague...

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
Bisu - Hands down this guy has been literally owning starleagues.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Justin aka Bifrost aka Whatever - This guy just sucks. If it weren't for his 2v2 play, he'd be known as the most pathetic 1v1 player ever. Seriously this guy sucks.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Silver - Innovative ZvT on Monty Hall. GGPlay should be thanking him for his OSL win.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
GoodFrienD - Oh Where Art Thou?

The Team of the Year Award
Lecaf - On a tear recently with Anytime and Jaedong. We know that they lack depth, but when your 1-2 punch produces these results, who needs depth?

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Chrh > Bisu. Lawl
That or FBH being a usual faggot.

Game of the Year
Iris vs Savior Game 5 Arkanoid - Hands down the most intense game this year.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
What qualifies as Newcomer? If Debut this year, then Flash, as he's the only thing keeping KTF up these days.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Anytime - This guy literally owns Proleague.

The Most Improved
Stork - Don't like him, but you gotta say he's been getting it done lately.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year
Bisu - Won GOMTV 1(Beat god-mode Savior 3-0), GOMTV 2(Arguably the best PvP), and a 2nd place running in GOMTV3.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Clon - Watching his games makes me sad. He screws up the best games.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Silver - Innovative ZvT on Monty Hall, changed the way Zergs played there.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
Silver - After introducing that sexy Monty build and placing 2nd in last year's MSL, where are you?

The Team of the Year Award
Lecaf - The big 3:Jaedong, ForGG, Anytime. They've been doing good and Jaedong just tore it up in indiv. leagues too

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Bisu beating Savior 3-0. Who expected that?

Game of the Year
Iris vs Savior Game 5 @ Neo Arkanoid - So sick.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Mind or JD, but i think JD was tearing it up '06 as well? - Mind 3-1's Bisu, beats Savior, rapes everyone afterwards.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Stork - PL beast, check the records

The Most Improved
Jaedong - This guy went from pretty good to the top 3 players. Best ZvT and ZvZ in the world and proved his ZvP to beat Stork 3-1. Pretty good IMO

Cannot be anything other than Casy's fake FE against July. Happened in January of '07.

If by January of '07 you mean February 2, 2007; then yes.

Boxer also had a fake main against Sheis during superfight at the beginning of the year which was pretty creative/inspiring.

He's been a consistent Proleague performer for CJ, and getting play in the PL means that a player is doing well in the in-team tournaments, as well.

the only thing I think it's different would be
WTF MOMENT OF THE YEAR! would go to Bisu 3-0 Savior or maybe lilsusie's appearance in the OSL Final "Are you watching Teamliquid.net? <3<3"

Actually I think Bisu's build definately can go under this category too, because it's simply that revolutionary

his results were revolutionary, not his play. the 'bisu build' is a myth. fast expoing into sair + dt or reaver harass is nothing new. he just does it so much better than everyone else that it seems new.

Bisu

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
Casy (This chappie actually got somewhere, then fell. Hard.)

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
So many . . .

The Team of the Year Award

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Matler 0 - 3 What's-his-face?, GOMTV1 MSL Finals

Game of the Year
Hungry Iris vs Indomitable Ma, 5Set Shinhan3 OSL Semifinals

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
Flash. (Mind came, like, three months before the year ended. Flash has been making waves earlier.)

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year

Bisu. There is a reason why the term "bonjwa" was thrown around a lot this year. He just accomplished more in the starleagues this year than any other player.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

Hazin[sam]. I was about to choose someone from ACE, but then I noticed that Mumyung beat this guy. Then I noticed that this guy didn't win a single game this year.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award

Casy. I'm making this pick solely because of the fake fast expansion move against July in an OSL game early this year.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award

Yellow. He's only played six games this year, and he might have the second-most famous name in the history of professional Starcraft.

The Team of the Year Award

CJ Entus. Although Lecaf had an amazing year, CJ has more players that are doing well and hence, a deeper roster. Also, I was impressed by Much and Xellos' request to be demoted to practice partners. If I knew the team chemistry of each team better, I would make a more educated guess, but right now, CJ just has a bunch of strong players on one team.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award

Bisu defeating Savior 3-0 in the MSL. No one expected Savior to lose in such a spectacular fashion to a Protoss player. This was more suprising than Mind's defeat of Bisu because Bisu's PvT was not his best matchup, and Savior's dominance lasted a significantly longer period of time.

Game of the Year

Bisu vs Savior (game 2, round of 8, EVER OSL on Katrina). I consider these two to be the best players in the world right now. This game was exciting to watch and struck me with awe. The Savior and Iris game (game 5, semifinals, Shinhan 3 OSL on Neo Arkanoid) was also epic, but I don't think Iris would have been considered the second-best player at that time.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award

Mind. He came out of relative obscurity, and went on to win the MSL. I think that's a pretty good accomplishment for a newcomer.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

Sea. Although Anytime had more wins, Sea had less losses. Also, I think Sea would beat Anytime if they played.

The Most Improved

Mind. Again, he came out of relative obscurity and went on to win the MSL. I don't know how much more improvement you can have than that.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year:
Bisu - Although I sometimes find myself wondering about his decisionmaking and something that I suppose best could be described as 'arrogance' (mostly micro-wise), he's produced so many S-class games and complete stompings this year, especially when pressure has been on.
To sum up the general TL-conception of the year: "He's so damn clutch!"

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player:
So hard to say. A lot of people have been very disappointing and downright bad. On the other hand there are players in OGN and ACE and stuff that play like two games a year, suck even more ass but are rarely discussed. It's a lot harder to discuss who's been sucking the most than it is to discuss who's performed the best.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Blank
I missed Oversky's proxy hatchery, but from what I've read it was slick.
I generally feel a lot of players can surprise with brilliant, bold moves under pressure when you least expect them to, just not Justin.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
I suppose my vote goes to Goodfriend as well. No one else comes to mind really, except Midas who hasn't really been all that absent after all - it's just been a general feeling of mine.

The Team of the Year Award
Blank vote. I could go for Lecaf considering their consistent performance or I could go for CJ considering the massive amount of good players they currently field (who are performing increasingly better every week imo)

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Firebathero - floating ring ceremony. I just didn't get that one at all. Utterly retarded.

Game of the Year
I want to say g3 Bisu vs Hwasin in the ro16, MSL3 (which btw was a candidate for 'WTF-moment' in my book) - but my heart says Gorush vs Anytime on Blue Storm in the MBC Survivor this November. Why? Sparta. Madness. Cracklings.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award
I have to say Mind, because I honestly didn't know who the hell he was before MSL3, other than remembering seeing his face on a WEMADE poster sometime (yes, he would also get my vote if there was an award for 'Ugliest korean progamer at the moment')

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
I cant believe there hasn't been more votes for Anytime. Not only was this fall's winstreak absolutely amazing, but the yearly tradition is truly becoming the stuff of legends by now.

The Most Improved
Blank vote here too. I feel there's been so many changes back and forth. Stork has really bloomed out, Hwasin has (in my eyes) gone from good to brilliant. Not to mention how all the 'newcomers' could be considered as the ones who've improved the most. Mind, Jaedong, Bisu, Kwanro are all candidates imo. Just too hard to vote on this one.

even though im a Savior fan, i still hafta give it to bisu, he has just been better this year except for the end...

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player
rA... probably not exactly the 'worst' player, but certainly most disappointing

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Oversky for sure, proxy hatch..., sloverlord drop... ling break on bisu..., even that crazy game he lost vs jaedong... damn this guy is fun to watch
runners up goes to chalrenge ^^

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
i donno chRh?

The Team of the Year Award
OGN , no star players but still owns a top tier record and the best 2v2 dual.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Chalrenge vs Lucifer when chalrenge 'almost' won with only a handful of probes and 2 dts

Game of the Year
game 1 of savior vs FBH GOM MSL2... quoting klazart "Battlecruisers battlecruisers!"

and the new ones are....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Mind?, i donno if he counts as a newcomer

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances

I personally interpreted the award somewhat as the opposite of "improved the most" as well.
But yeah, that was more games than I thought he had played this (last?) year.

I've seen Goodfriend play like 4-5 televised games this year (that I can remember anyway), but that says more about the amount of SC I watch than anything else.

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year;
Bisu. Even as a fan of Savior, Bisu with 2 msl titles and revolutionizing pvz makes him the best player of the year.

The 'Mumyung' Award for Worst Player

Nal-ra, total disappointment this year.

The 'Boxer' Creativity/Inspiration Award
Silver for his creativity on Monty Hall with the offensive hatchery, and fittingly, he also beat Boxer with that build.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award
I have to say Kingdom but now I know why he played so few games, so sad.

The Team of the Year Award
CJ Entus. Even though Lecaf is raping right now, they only have a few players they send over and over again imo, whereas CJ has more depth and is more of a team.

The 'WTF!' Moment of the Year Award
Bisu eliminating Savior 3-0 in the msl.

Game of the Year

Savior vs Iris on Neo Arkanoid game 5 of the msl semis.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award;
Mind surprised a lot of people by beating Bisu and winning the msl.

The 'rA' Award for Proleague Performances
Anytime, this man is a beast.

The Most Improved
Jaedong is definitely most improved. His zvz has always been great but winning the last osl took more than luck.

edit: added rA award

reasoning.

Bisu is an obvious choice. He was hailed by everyone on this forum as the best. And his results showed. 2 MSL victories. Enough said

Casy. I forgot about Shinhan 3 OSL. Clon he was what 1-10 in Proleague at one point? He is the worst statistically.

Silver came up with the ingenious "silver build" for Monty Hall, a zerg graveyard. This unprecedented innovation of using hydra/guardian as a siege force based at a proxy expo directly affected the outcome of Daum OSL where GGPlay used the build to come back and defeat Iris.

Kingdom has played 2, TWO games this year. Enough said.

Lecaf OZ is a stronger team than CJ Entus. CJ does not have that unstoppable line of AT/JD/Forgg/Hiya and has not even made the playofs in the first round. I would have picked Samsung but with their failiure in round 2 sealed the deal.

Looks like a lot of people agree that Bisu 3-0 Savior was THE most wtf moment of the year. No one , not a single damn person would have predicted that outcome and a rape on THAT level.

Iris v Savior @Araknoid. This btw could also qualify for the wtf moment of the year. All you atheists out there, there was proof after this game that god exists. Did you see the first and second wave of marines entering Savior's EMPTY main? Did you see those what TEN drops at his nats? I'm sorry but that was game defied logic. It was divine intervention. God came down from the heavens and stopped those marines!

Mind is looking like a very strong player. he has an MSL title for crying out loud. While he still hasn't played many games, he is a better player than Flash who started out on fire but quickly slumped without any achievments.

Stork is a better player than Anytime in Proleague. Stork to his team means more than any other player to any team. Yes Lecaf was the better team this year, but Anytime had Jaedong and Forgg and now recently Hiya. For Samsung this season, nobody played great. They were at 11'th place at one point (which is the lowest place since ACE is a special team). Stork literally carried his team on his shoulders from 11'th to 5'th place and even now Khan has a fain chance of making playoffs. Please do not forget that Stork beat Anytime and in turn Khan won the first round of Proleague by sweeping Lecaf.

Jaedong played plenty of games in 06 but he was just a mediocre zerg. He never got far in any individual league and Proleague was the only thing he had going for him. Now Jaedong is the best zerg in the world. He is undesputedly the best vT/Z in the world. He had an unprecedented 14 game ZvT win streak and displayed top level ZvP in the OSL finals.

100% agree
  • He carried Khan in Proleage; as did Sea for MBC and Anytime for Lecaf
  • Lead Khan to victory in PL Season 1
  • Won MVP for Season 1
  • He has the second most wins in Proleague
  • He has a higher Proleague elo than Anytime (ie his opponents were tougher)

despite not getting as many votes (because anytime is ripping up this season of proleague and people on this site don't have long term memory) his consistent efforts throughout both seasons means that he deserves this award the most.

Anytime dropped the ball against Khan and has shown no individual league progress this year. Stork has better stats than Anytime and did it while playing strongly in OSL and MSL. Sea has better stats than Anytime but his individual league schedule wasn't as hectic as Stork's.

Stork should get the ProLeague award. He performed the best while facing the toughest schedule. Stork's performance in ProLeague this year was excellent, and it casts a shadow over everyone else's. If Stork doesn't win this award I'm going to have to assume there are tons of people who never think posting in this thread.

Stork also won every time he was sent out for the Ace match. Aside from Stork, Anytime and Sea are really the only ones you can even consider. I stand by my own pick of Anytime, though I can't say I have a valid arguement for or against any of those three that outweighs the other two. It's mostly came down to preference for me. Also I didn't factor in whether or not players would be busy with individual leagues as I don't feel it should affect this category at all, though that's my own view of the criteria and I wouldn't entirely disagree with those who consider otherwise (unless they chose someone other that Stork, Anytime or Sea; because then they would just be so undeniably wrong)

I think http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~edfu/starcraft/kespa07 graph.png offers some insight into some of these polls:

The 'Garimto' Award for Player of the Year: Unquestionably Bisu.

The 'Chojja' Missing in Action Award: Chojja, perhaps, unsurprisingly, who started off ranked highly but was out by April. Alternates include Midas and Casy.

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award: Can't be Jaedong - he's been on the KeSPA top 30 for the whole year. Stork, rather, should be the runaway winner - he didn't get on the top 30 list until May, but shot up to fourth in two months, and hasn't looked back since.

The Most Improved: The largest gain was shown by Stork, but assuming he can't win this award as well, Jaedong and Flash are viable candidates.

Obviously KeSPA is not a be-all end-all, since KeSPA is a cumulative performance measure over the past 52 weeks, but the trends are worth a look at.

errrr.....

The 'Sea' Best Newcomer Award - Must have debuted this year OR have played less than 5 games the previous year (2006).

according to TLPD, stork debuted in 2005 and played 48 games in 2006.

don't think he really qualifies.

DIdn't read that, sorry. Then it goes to Flash, I assume, and Stork takes most improved.

I was thinking "newcomer" as in "newcomer to the top ranks of bw", since everyone had been nominating Jaedong.
