I meant to tell y'all (kinda unrelated)...
Slightly NSFW (Story) + Show Spoiler +I went to my university's free spring concert on Saturday. We got tpain to come... I mean whatever, a free concert is a free concert. Anyways, about half an hour before he comes on some random chick comes up and throws her arms around me. I was like wtf haha. We were obviously both intoxicated but she was worse than me. Anyway, we started talking and she started dancing on me. Having a good time, having my hands in places that mothers would frown about, before her friend pulls a major block. She was complaining how some chick wouldn't let her dance and about 5 minutes later takes that heavenly blessed beauty away from me, after the fun we were having.

Its probably from all those damn deadlifts and squats I've been doing. Its starting to pay off haha. Bishs can't get away from these aesthetics. Likeaboss.gif.

I'd say just go and see what you can do. A cold or allergies shouldn't prevent you from lifting or doing anything otherwise you'll start using those excuses all the time. We all know someone like that and they never get anything accomplished.
Anyway you might not hit those PRs today if you got a cold but go anyway. My motto is if you can at least push out a little bit on your worst day it's worth more than your 100% best on your best day.

Yeah, I've got a couple of friends who love to use those excuses. Makes me wonder about their real drive and desire to do what's necessary to succeed.
Just asking as I was really looking forward to this session at the gym today after having such a beast session on Saturday. Been putting Dave Tate's bench press tips to heart and I've noticed pushing the weight is a lot easier now compared to before. Assuming I clear my bench today with ease (155 x 5 x 3) I'm aiming for 165 x 5 x 3 on Saturday.

Only decaf would've taken both home
Strongman training has been taken it's toll and coupled with inadequate rest and food I've only managed to do one session between the two coached ones each week. I think every joint is aching and taking 1-2 weeks off after the meet will be a good call.
Did some benching (will be doing them 3/5/1 w/ singles) and strict overhead presses. Managed 3 sets of 50kg x 5 and while not super impressive I still remember the day I first managed to do 40kg x 5 and like the progress ^^
Time to get some serious food and sleep (and drug) abuse going

LoL yeah I have 1 friend who's famous for that shit.
Anyway after having said all that, I gotta say that I tried to work out right now. And this is the third session in a row where I've experienced severe headaches. This time I could feel the onset of it even when I was warming up. It didn't get bad until I got to my working sets for squats. I've been working on breathing differently hoping that'll cure it but it didn't seem to have any effect. Or at least when I tried to breathe different I would up screwing up my form. I waited a while in between sets too to make sure I was calmed down completely. But I still would up dumping the bar on the 4th attempt of set 3 because of headache.
The other day I got the headache but decided to just power through it and finish my lifts anyway. Took forever and afterwards it took the rest of the night for my head to stop hurting for whatever reason.
It confuses me because the weight I am pushing I know I am capable of if only I didn't get these damn headaches. I am not sure what it is anymore. I thought it was breath but idk. Diet seems fine as I am eating enough to keep progressing up in weight. The only other things that have been constant over my last 3 lifting sessions are the humid weather, and my garage where I lift. But man, these headaches are KILLING me.
It's making me nervous for one. And frustrated for two because there's no reason I should be getting them. As I said my lifts are progressing and I'm not struggling by any means. In fact, my last two sessions of squats felt really, really good until sudden headache onset. I mean, after struggling most of last week to squat 185-195 I adjusted my diet and got more sleep and then powered through 200 and 205 (until I dumped) with relative ease. But I can LIFT this shit, which is why I'm so frustrated.
Any ideas?

Second one: Completelydidnotwant.
We did ask each other where we lived (I live at home, she dormed) and I was like oh when do I get an invite to your dorm? She shot back with when do I get an invite to your house? And I was like well your dorms closer. and she said something like after this or we'll see after this, or something. I don't know how I remember so much of this haha. So I had one in the bag, am I still decafing or what? lol
Also /brag lol
I hear strongman training is brutal, get some rest and eat some food man. I'm going to getting a tire (the biggest one I can find) for some conditioning fun in the summer myself. When's your meet?
|
Well, I figured that was the case lol We'll see if you finish the deal.
The strongman training is brutal but not in the weight department. Everything is just so damn awkward!
Tyre flipping and hitting it with a sledgehammer is so great for conditioning. The meet I think is in 2 weeks.
now for some eggs, bread and a huge shake for dessert.

Ok since I'm lazy I ended up pushing my workout back from this morning till tonight. I've heard that there are advantages to working out earlier in the day. Is this true?
Edit: Well, 25% laziness, 25% poor planning, and 50% surprize early call in to work.

meh, fasted morning cardio is supposed to be good for fatloss but otherwise it is just a personal preference when you workout.
Some like to workout before they eat anything and others (like me) perform much better when full or after few meals => better for us to use afternoon workouts.

Worked out this morning (mostly cause i was pissed my cj was so bad yesterday ) Did probably 8-10 singles at hang(from hip) snatch w/ 50-60kg and hang(from hip) clean and jerk w/ 90kg (god my jerk needs so much work). Went on to squat and hit 3x5 @ 155kg (had to beast mode the last couple reps, i think i actually came to a stop on the last one and pushed through) and OHP 3x5 @ 70kg. By the time i was doing OHP my legs were shaking rofl. Felt good though. Then i watched a russian guy in his 50's front squat 155kg for singles ez pz. T_T
Entering full get huge mode now that meet is over, creatine + glutamine + preworkout + protein + GOMAD + as much food as i can shove down my throat. Gonna try to get in 4 days a week of lifting and a day of rugby. My 4 pounds of pork loin went bad (DAMMIT) so obviously i ran to the store to buy 6.5 more pounds(2.38 a pound? they're practically giving it away). Looks like pulled pork this week fellas!

haha if you only knew the half of it :-p nice work though ^_^. But yes getting big makes the amount of effort needed to pick up women drop significantly...as in they'll throw themselves at you as you now know lol

As long as we're already on the topic of picking up girls; and related to me looking baller as hell in a suit over the weekend. Went to a party, went to a bar afterwards, got the bartender's number. Yeaaaaaah

So I finally decided to get off my lazy ass for once and I started doing deadlifts and powercleans during gym @ school. I started off light (since I'm a weak nubling) with 55 lbs. My form is really shitty, so I have a couple of questions: 1. I have relatively long arms, so when I do powercleans, how should my arms be positioned so that I can keep my elbows up? 2. How powerful should my motion be when brining up the barbell up to my chest area?

for 1, it's more a matter of flexibility than length of arms. I'm 6'3, and my armspan is 6'5 or so. Long arms. Hands directly in front of shoulders works fine for me to get my elbows up. Just really focus on driving them to the ceiling.
for 2, remember that all the power in that part of the motion comes from the shoulders & traps. Consider your arms like ropes tied on to the bar, they're just transferring the force, That said, the force should be almost violent. You're generating as much power as you possibly can, in the shortest period of time you can do so. Touch your shoulders to your ears if possibly. You'll need every bit of power you can create when the weight starts to get heavy.

There's actually only 300 mg omega 3 in those, which is about a third of what I'm taking in a day, and even less compared to the guys who are taking liquid stuff. They're probably more expensive than what you could be getting, but if they're what's around they'll do.
|
It's one of the better cheaper brands but yeah only 300mg of EPA+DHA in those so you gotta take like 10 of them for 3g of EPA+DHA
|
So you would recommend 10 of em?
I could do that, to be honest.
How does consuming them improve health? >.>

Haha I mean, I didn't get her number... Foreverdumb.
Have you done atlas stones yet? Those look like the most awkward thing in the world. And I think I'm just going to be doing tire flips and pulls - not so much sledge hammer work. Unless I have a random sledgehammer around here. After all, I'll be doing my 4x/week routine in addition to the tire work.

Just had a severe thunderstorm here. ran through it with some chick and went back to her dorm. She said I'd invite you in but my room mate is here. NBD, guess your right. Didn't get her number either though
Nice job Mojo :D

Terrible day in the gym today, only got deadlift 385x3 before I felt like I was gonna die when I did 8 reps with the same weight last time pretty easily. Thinking the lack of calories is finally affecting my lifts a little bit.
Still waiting for my camera to take some update pictures, hopefully Ill have that soon.
