I'll probably play, so add me to the list. Is this going to be some hardcore clan made up of CPs? L2 isn't very fun when you get roflstomped by the nolifers/botters....

First major thing is that this is a click to move game and you can't jump around which may make the game seem slow. But that's not really the case, with no wasted movement and good group dynamics the game gets really fast. Since the party's exist of 9 members instead of the usual 5 the damage out put can be pretty high if damage dealers are a little bit experienced. Assisting targets is critical in this game. My best advice for you would be to hop in game, get some levels. (max level should only take some hours on this server) and then join up for some group pvp.

The best part about l2 is all the wars you fight are caused by the actions of player politics for server dominance, you fight because you want to beat each other or just plain dislike another clan making for a lot of drama, rivalries and lots of awesome pvp. The main thing that draws me is that you can fight anyone for whatever reason, not because of preset factions made by the game developers. I could PK your clan members and cause an entire war if i wanted to, thats what makes the political aspect of pvp so much fun, everything you do matters. As for grinding, its a private server so it will probably have multiplied EXP rates to make up for the huge grind. On some of the midrate servers an experienced player can max a character in a day easily.

Like, everything was always straight up business. I don't think I ever got to know someone "outside" of the game through L2. But perhaps that's the mindset you need to be successful. :D Also, over time I noticed it became a custom to use as subtle (and short) names as possible (ex: pr0, l0l, h4t). I mean, compare this to BW/SC2 where most people seem to strive to have a unique and personal name. And best(?) of all, I think L2 is the only game I've played where I've seen real hate for another player. Not just rivalry but downright hate. I've got a hard time not getting nostalgic when it comes to this shit. :D

Or used to be, back when I played. Level and items had a GREAT importance on the PvP, but since it's a private server, you will be max level and the items will probably be sold in shops. So it will probably come down to party organization and skill. How good the healers are to maintain their party alive while the damage dealers focus fire the important players of the other team. It requires good communication (for huge battles like Castle Sieges, you could do very well in small fights with no communication as long as your party has a good knowledge of the game). //tx

...but since it's a private server, you will be max level and the items will probably be sold in shops. actually from what I've read there won't be any high grade item shops, but the economy is custom built, so probably still farming but less harsh and life consuming then the official servers I reckon? [edit] actually nvm, seems like somone on their forum had the same question: http://forum.l2-renewal.net/index.php?topic=560.0 S grade weapons buyable aparently

BUFFS! L2 is all about buffs, dont even think about fighting without it, you will lose, for sure, even in greater numbers. Dont try, realy! I mean it! What buffs do you need? It depends on your class and role you have in your party/alliance. More experienced player will explain it to you with details. One thing is sure, you need Bleesing of The Noblees, (If Your Alliance/clan has it), you should always fight with it. What does it do? Simple, when you are killed u lose all your buffs, you can be ressurected and still take part in fight, but you are pretty much useless (as YOU HAVE NO BUFFS) thats why u need Bleesing of nobless, if u have it, you only lose it when you die, and when you are ressurected you are ready to fight again. In mass pvp u will be probably killed, perhaps multiple times, thats normal, its not about how many times you die, its about your side winning engagment, so when you fall just patienlty wait for ressurect, dont port back to town. Back to buffs, how important it is? Just imagine you have 9 people in party, and its archers party. How many archers should be in it? 4! Yes four, the other five people are suport for them ( if you play on server that has NPC buffers just ignore this part). Thats the proper way to set up archer party: Warcryer, Swordsinger, bladedancer, warlock, and bishop +4 x archer. That setup beats like infinite number of archers without buffs. I am serious. While in party, always do what you supposed to do, damagedealer attack, bishop heals and ressurects, and so on.... Always follow your party leader orders, and stay close to him. Always attack same target (use assist button from the button list), just target your party designated targeter and assist him. If Your clan use clancraft hand every usefull mats and keys to clan warehase, you will get you gear much faster this way, belive me, clancraft is always faster than solo craft. But again it depends on specific clan and its rules. CP pots, you will probably need program to spam cp pots if server allows it. Always cary LOST AND LOTS of cp pots with you. Teamspeak and or vent is kinda obvious. War is good for you and your clan, it makes you stronger and better, it makes lineage great game. If You can attaned sieges and epic monster fights do it its always fun.

drama was what made L2 great, make alliances to team up against a bully alliance, then become the bully alliance, raise taxes for shops and everyone will hate you, on the other hand, make sure your manor system (gain extra mats while fighting mobs in that area) works well and no one will contest your control of the castle as people are satisfied. try not to grind alone too much as grinding with a full 9 man party on vent will always be the most enjoyable (tough solo grinding with an out of party buffgroup will always be the most optimal) woo actually found some old banners/pics I've made way back: + Show Spoiler +

First thing is that comm's are pretty important if you wanna have a good pvp experience, we got a private TS3 server that I would love to have you guys over at, you do not need a mic but please join in for when we pvp. (Makes it so much easier to call targets, assists and such) We also need to get some info about which classes you guys want to play (You are free to play what ever you want of course) . We are planing some pvp parties and got 1 mage party setup right now and we will tailor the rest to the classes you wanna play. So I'm gonna send you all a pm with TS3 info and such.
