Unfortunately for the young lady, the communities'reaction to the announcement was less than complimentary and would have been enough to dent anyone's confidence. However, Kelly previously told ESFI World, "It does not affect me negatively mentally or emotionally in any way. It just makes me want to work harder. I am focused on being the best I can be."
Almost exactly one month after travelling to South Korea, Kelly will be returning to Singapore, according to her Twitter feed, she will leave Seoul on the morning of March 15th. In a recent interview with ESFI World, Kelly explained how she "would very much like to stay in Korea" and had "most definitely" enjoyed her time in the country.
Unfortunately, she refused to let us know if she would be going back to South Korea citing that her current contract with GOMtv was only for the duration of one season and explaing that she cannot disclose information about the future.
Mod edit: from a GOM forum post from John the Translator:
Some people have claimed we are running a 'beta' test for casters in Code A. This in a sense is true. This is the final procedure for selecting casters for Code A. We need to test them out in actual matches and see the reaction. We plan to try out few more casters over next few seasons. So if one caster stops showing up after a season it does not mean he or she is fired. It just means it's next candidate's turn for the try out. I know from my experience that everytime we make some changes people freak out but without changes there can be no improvement. Mod edit 2: on February 24 (six days after it was announced she'd be casting Code A) Kelly said she would be staying in Korea only until March 17.

Way to go.
That's your assumption though, as it reads she was on a season contract. [edit]Holy shit from the response so far I hope this thread gets locked. For everyones sake.

Congrats to everyone who complained about the accent! You got her fired! Now e-sports is a Singapore-free environment!
Way to go.
Are you trying to make this a QQ thread? It's not cool to post some news and then derail any discussion off the get go. : (

Lol I thought that thread was a big troll whining about her cast. I hope that tastosis will cast code A final, would be great^^ I feel sorry for her but she didn't fit the job.

For being the most tolerant and mature community out there, we really fucked up this time!

You're an asshole. People like you made her leave/get fired (whatever happened). This community has been absolute garbage to her. I honestly feel sorry for Kelly.

cant do much without support... I liked her, sure she didnt know everything but she would have gotten better. Thanks to all the dicks
|
I couldn't understand her 90% of the time anyway. She shouldn't be a commentator, she should persue something else.
EDIT: its also worth noting that she could've been fired for other reasons, or maybe she didn't enjoy her job (?). Anyways, its none of our business.

I don't think you guys realize that GOM was going to cycle casters for code A so kelly's time is almost up, and the next caster will come in her spot then probably doa will get changed out and so on and so forth until the code A casting duo is found.
|
I feel bad for saying this, but I can't help being happy. I didn't like her as a caster, and if this is true, it probably means that the quality of the GSL code A casts will improve, which is a good thing. As much as it may personally suck for her, it's good news (in my opinion, of course) to the spectators.

Is Moletrap coming at me now?
|
Unfortunate, she wasn't as terrible as some made her out to be, though there are certainly far better casters out there. I wish her the best, and hopefully GOM will figure something else out for the casting situation.
|
If you are paying for something and you dont like it you should speak up and the community did, no need to make people feel bad about it.
|
I doubt she was fired, I can see it getting hard to be scrolling through TL forums and being ragged on ALOT because of your accent. I think she did a good job, and GOMtv picked her out of the thousands of applicants for a reason. I hope she returns.
|
She returns because of the contract is over. She said in her interviews (the one that Torch's gf did I think) that she only stays in Korea until sometime in March. That's reasonable. GomTV also states that they want to tryout as many casters as possible, so I guess every casters has 1 month contract for the season. I guess that applies for the guy Doa or Moletrap in the future too

I agree very much with Dudemeister, our community is usually very good but this thing really med me feel ashamed.
