But if the stories of him having a kid soon are true then its pretty selfish of him to take up a spot in a top level team. How can you focus on playing sc2 12 hours a day when you have a kid to raise. I don't know if anyone "come up" in the sc2 scene while raising a newborn baby. good luck with that one. I just want to harp on this part. Having a kid is one of the reasons he quit his job, because it means he'll be at home more to take care of him. Also, Steven makes quite a bit of money off streaming, so there was no need for him to be working when he could be making the same amount of money at home.

I always suspected that Bluetea was carrying Destiny in their 2v2s as Bluetea always is no 1. EG got the better end of the deal imo

Grats to both Destiny and Root. Really enjoy Destinys stream and hope Root help him reach his potential.

If skill was the sole judgement for picking him up I'd say it's a bit silly, not that he's terrible but for a team like root the fit doesn't seem right (in terms of skill). But from the sound of it he meshes well with them (aka plays with them), and he has a billion fans, which will give root more publicity. Also, seems like root has a crazy monopoly on popular streams; catz, drewbie, qxc, slush, minigun, now destiny :O imba.

Guess your right. My brain is still in broodwar with jaedong and flash who practice 100 hours a day and have no time for anything other than sc. Dynamics of sc2 are alot different now and I should have realized that prior to making such a bold statement. I was in the wrong.

But you see, IdrA actually has a proven track record in SC2 and could make the top 200 on any server. Destiny can't even make the top200 on NA and is THIS outspoken. I'm not a fan of IdrA's un-professional image either but at least he can back up his words with his skills, Destiny can't. Hopefully ROOT being such a great team can improve Destiny in both attitude and skills.

Not that I'm comparing destiny to idra skillwise, but I'm pretty sure destiny has been at least top 100 na ladder at some point if not top 50.

Gratz to Destiny. He has a whole lot to prove though if he wants to be recognized as a top player finally. His JTV fame has definitely brought him into the spotlight, now to see if he can improve with the ROOT tag on. glglgl~

Congrats Desinty - awesome to see him with the ROOT tage on his name now.. He is an awesome personality and his game sense seems to be pretty good.. just needs to translate that into skill.. Hopefully ROOT provides the platform for him

I've got a newborn child and I have time to play sc2, if this is destiny's main income then I don't see how he wouldnt have time for that, especially if he has the motivation to get to the very top

You also don't have to worry about income unlike other people though . I agree though if this is all he is doing, there really isn't any reason for him to not be at the top. I'm looking forward to it!

What you're saying may be right Fayth but it isn't what my post is addressing. I have a distaste toward poor sportsmanship and in the present, IdrA has more of a standing to spout BM than Destiny has (I hate all of it anyway).

I think it's great news, I've always been a Destiny, and a Catz fan. If Catz says Destiny has lots of untapped potential that will be honed in ROOT I am very excited and trust his judgement.
Gl to ROOT and Destiny!

In all honesty: You can't say Destiny has poor sportsmanship. In tournaments he is 200% gm. On ladder there is bm sometimes, but it rarely happens out of nowhere. Destiny mostly bms if he gets bmed himself (by cheesy play). And I am pretty sure it is all fun, no hard feelings. I don't see poor sportsmanship at all.

While i'm not a fan of destiny I will say this alot of top level players bm on ladder (no not saying destiny is top level either). So if you don't like his "bm" because he bm's some noobs on ladder who cheese or all in or w/e a ton of other players do it at the high level. So you should probably be hating on a ton of top level players if you feel this way by how destiny bm's on ladder.
I guess I don't know how he bm's or anything but if its just rage of losing or calling someone terrible after losing to a cheese build or something can you blame him? Just posts like these annoy me I mean if he's flaming his opponents for no reason whatsoever all the time sure I can see it but yeah already said it before.
While I question the decision still from root grats to destiny maybe he will be a top player only time will tell.

qxc streams? O_o ... wtf, I watch a lot of streams on TL and have never seen his stream pop up once

Destiny has the worst BM I've seen out of anyone who streams on TL.
Anyone know how much dick he had to suck to get into team ROOT?

Some of you mentioned he earns money streaming. How does that work? He can earn more money then with a normal job?

So much Destiny hate... his stream is really funny and i really like him both as player and a streamer. He seems to have the dedication and talent to make it to the top so i wish him luck. My favorite team picked up one of my favorite "up and coming" players, i can't complain.
