SC2 is still evolving and that plays advantage to evolving gameplay. That is something "foreigners" do very well. If GSL was in America or Europe, there would still be a strong korean presence, but I think the numbers weigh in for home field advantage in another country. You can take that to the bank. Well, Blizzcon had a more even distribution of players and the Korean player who got eliminated was done in by influenza all-in.

Never know, EG is also in part sponsored by Intel. But being realistic, most likely not. Boxer will probably just recruit a bunch of nobodies and spawn many more iloveoov bonjwas to dominate the SC2 scene.

Power to him for getting that kind of sponsorship, but I feel like he is riding his fame and while he is undeniably a good player, I don't believe he is good enough to warrant being paid so disproportionately high. I mean he could sponsor a whole team with how much he is getting payed and still have enough to live. While this is true, I think a lot of people are over-estimating how much money that is for a company like Intel. The cost/benefit is still great when you have someone as famous as Boxer wearing your name. Sponsors love people who win tournaments, but having a legend and/or celebrity is often just as good if not better. Boxer is sure to do fairly well on both fronts. I think a lot of people undervalue fame when it comes to how much a player is worth to a sponsor. Sure, he might not have won the GSL, but if you look at the viewership spikes for his games it is absurd to say that he isn't worth much more to Intel than he's being paid.

I see why this is unlikely but for the off chance that this big announcement that inconrol keep keeps talking about on SoTG is related we can say Polygamy told us so... (;
