I'm glad Intel actually decided to sponsor the team Boxer wishes to create along with Boxer himself. I remember back in the day Boxer decided to part ways with Tongyang Orion because they refused to provide the funds for the rest of his team, but were willing to pour tons of money into himself.

Except TLO is with TeamLiquid and Idra is with EG. I know being on a team with Boxer is a lot of peoples dream, but there is such a thing a loyalty. TLO and Idra are happy with their respective teams and don't lose anything by being on them.

At the begining of sc2 we thought the best players were IdrA, TLO, Dimaga and all of those guys. Then as more and more koreans got into the game most of the foreigners just kinda faded away. As more and more Koreans start playing the game, the less foreigners we will see. I just dont see why anyone would pick a foreigner over a Korean.

Also, IdrA, TLO, HuK already have teams, i doubt they will just leave them if Boxer asks them to.

I just dont see any foreigner ever making it into the ro8 unless they get really lucky with who they play. Maybe i'm mistaken, i hope to be :D

Yes, that is true. But who knows if EG would actually "team up" with boxer's team, providing some of their players a practice house just like oGs did with TL. EG's sponsor is still Intel aswell.

Well, you are not the only one. But Idra is by far the best candidate for this, and i'm sure he would do pretty well if he could get some decent practice partners to practice with, and im sure many other foreigners would do well if they could actually practice with Korean players, not just laddering with them. But who knows, CJ entus didn't pick Idra to actually believe he would win an osl/msl more like to let the foreigners in to the scene and let them try out if they are willing to(?).


But anyway, thats how i see the whole case. I don't really care if Boxer decides to pick only Koreans to his team. I'm just happy that he can have the team.

If GSL was in the US, it wouldn't be 61 koreans and 3 foreigners, it has nothing to do with skill caps yet. Sure, a lot of koreans are super good, but didn't ONLY 8 FOREIGNERS EVEN GO TO THE PRELIMS?

Someone like Tyler could probably easily qualify for GSL, but will he spend thousands to fly over to korea for a CHANCE at it? no.

Um, there have only been a few foreigners actually there to partake in it. More and more will start showing up there and more and more will make it into the GSL. SC2 is still evolving and that plays advantage to evolving gameplay. That is something "foreigners" do very well. If GSL was in America or Europe, there would still be a strong korean presence, but I think the numbers weigh in for home field advantage in another country.

You can take that to the bank.
