Early call will only fill a small portion of the spots. Once "normal" registration opens anyone can register

Yes, that's what the "open" part means . Anyone is welcome to register once registration opens, regardless of rank. The only requirement is you have a US Bnet account.

Also even if the open registration fills up (which it will), please register for the wait list. Last time we ended up including everybody on the wait list and we were still short to fill a full 512 man bracket. Don't think you won't have any chance of playing just because registration fills up.

How long of notice of cancellation would be like scraping it to irritation. I assume at least 1 day before. Because shit happens.

Awesome, wonder how many people will sign up in the first 5 minutes of registration.
I love the time zone feature in profile that updates this tourney's thread in the newspost, just noticed that, it's really nice.

Awesome. The TL Open on the NA server. Going to have some great matches for sure, as well as some great casting.

definitely gonna sign up for this if only for the fun in getting owned by good players. :D

Good to hear about TL #2. Couple suggestions:
1. If you're only going to allow replay casting in the end grid, then use that policy for the entire tournament. The let-down and lag that viewers experience between the live early rounds and the replay casting was really bad. Also, isn't it equally important (if not moreso), to prevent cheating in the early rounds? If you stay consistent, the casters and audience will have better flow throughout the entire event.
2. Plan the casters early. Caster X gets to follow player X, Caster B gets to follow player B, etc. Then for the grid, say which caster gets which QuarterFinals, which Semifinals, etc. Have 1 primary streamer (+1 co-caster) and do not allow additional obs beyond the Referee and official streamer. Have some back-up streamers ready and waiting just incase the main streamers no-show or have technical difficulties. By pre-planning the streams, you will be able to announce, ahead-of-time, who will be streaming what. This will be a huge plus for viewers, preventing confusion and the frustration of trying to find what you want to see.

Sigh I'll be working how lame for me. Hope it goes well.

Does anyone have any help for someone looking to get into casting? What tools does everyone use to stream/cast? I would even be interested in getting my feet wet casting in this if I could figure everything out in time. I've been told back when I played counterstrike that I would be a really good caster.
Also, super pumped for this! Definitely gonna be signing up and trying my luck against TL's greatest! :D

Lucky me I ordered 3 copies of SC2 when it launched A preordered one from the US to get into Beta that will come in handy now will deffinitly try to get into this one aswell even if I got smacked around in only round 2 last time But I guess one has to keep at it to get anywhere like all competitive games!
And just to get my point on the Casting last time I hope we get some Europe based casters this time around since the streams last time were lagging quite heavily and shouldnt be because of my 100/100 connection other then that I must say I really enyoed Wolfs cast.
Looking forward to another set of amazing TL.net inspiered games!

Can't wait to give this a shot--should be a lot of fun. It's really great to see open tourneys like this where amateur players get a chance to test their mettle against pros. Thanks TL for this amazing opportunity.

This is going to be a lot of fun. I'm taking the day of work to play in the tourny and when I lose (cuz im not very good) I will get to stay and watch all the streams. Only got about 2 weeks to practice as much as possible, anyone want to add me imaROBOT - 177 please do so we can practice.

I can't imagine myself getting through the second round or so without a bye, but I think I'm gonna join nonetheless. That way I've got a reason to train hard for the next few weeks!
Good luck everybody!
And thanks to TL too (hoping for that sponsor to show up!).

We just feel that donations to our tournament prizes aren't in the spirit of TL. We've never asked for donations before and we don't plan to. That said, we are in the process of looking for sponsors to increase the prize pool.
