But you know what, I don't have espn, my internet is too slow to watch at home, so I ask them if I can go to the university to watch. They originally say its ok, but then they tell me I have to get back by 11. I mean, the game starts at 8:30, and its not gonna be done by then. My gosh, I ask my parents to go here because I don't want to ask my dad to find a place where we can watch(we usually watch at a neighbor's) and just because its a school night I can't watch the entire game. I mean, tomorrow is a school night, but it ends by 12 and I go to sleep at 11 on school nights. I don't get what their fucking point is. FML!!! Tell your parents that you have the right to watch the game, and watch it. Then when they whine and yell at you when you come home late, tell them they're fucking controlfreak assholes. You have a right to watch the fucking game, no one gets hurt by you doing so, and you are your own human being with your own rights.

you're not really gonna understand everything they tell you or make you do, and sometimes they dont make the best decision, but if you're really so emotional about such minor things.. it's no wonder your parents want you home by 11. my advice is be home by 11!

I'd be really curious to see what your life looks like in 10 years if your parents let you talk to them like that. That's assuming of course that you're not full of shit which I think is probably more likely.

This. Steve hit it right on the head. Truth is, you are going to want to tell your parents to fuck off and do your own thing. Trust me (I say this from experience of doing such) that your parents tell you these things because of their own experiences. When you are young, you believe you have the ability to make decisions that will benefit you in one way or another, but that 20-30 years of extra experience makes a huge difference. Sometimes it sucks, but just listen to them and it will play out 10x better in the future- they really do just want what is best for you. Sounds cliche, but its true. Hell, every time they do something that frustrates you like that, come vent with us

i love how they just randomly decide they have to make rules and then stick by them without actually thinking very much about them at all, that's probably my favorite thing about parents (i dont have to deal with this shit anymore... just reminiscing here)
