So he's technically not wrong or misinformed, just not giving a very clear explanation Okay, I well you might be right ofcourse. But if you scroll up abit to my long mail above, in it there is a forum link to something karune said. That there will be a system for adding the key to b.net account page. Ofcourse, things change, its a long time ago.. I dunno... here it is.. "When StarCraft II Beta starts, BlizzCon beta key holders will be able to enter their key through their Battle.net account management page. There currently isn't an option to do that yet since the beta has not yet started. Either way, don't worry, your keys will work just fine - karuune"
That is from almost a year ago, I think at that point you couldnt add your blizzcon key.
Did you add yours? Because if so I would suspect you will get in during the next wave. If there was a problem with putting your key in then definitely complain and you might end up with an actual beta key if your blizzcon key isnt working or something.
But if you want to be put in right now instead of waiting for the next wave I don't think they can do that for you. You can keep trying though but I am doubtful you would succeed.
I really think what he was trying to say is that not all blizzcon keys are getting in right away, and that is supported by the fact that not all of them got into the beta during wave 1. He just did a really bad job explaining that

No, I don't expect to be made an exception of at all, it just pretty much stunned me the replies I got.. I hope you are right, and that what they are trying to communicate is in fact what you are saying floor excercise.

A bollox, im gooing to go watch Legion

If you've entered your beta key from the card at the site and received that confirmation e-mail, then you just have to play the waiting game. As has been said, the amount of players currently in beta is their target population for this period of testing and you were unfortunately not selected out of the Blizzcon 08 key holders to test at this period of time. There are other Blizzcon 08 that are in your boat. Patience my friend .

Yeah, i know we are alot with this, they don't want to let everyone in at once.
They actually deleted my post about this on the b.net forums now without replying, no locking, just deleting I'm gonna act stupid and repost it.. "Oh, my post seems to have magically dissapeared, must be some problem with the internet! What, wich one is the any key?"
Legion was a great movie by the way! ended abit to fast though..

If you repost something that is deleted moderation gets angry. Don't do it.

Well he said he made a mistake , lol

i just got a blizzcon key from a friend today
entered it successfully, and of course expect to wait a bit before i get my actual key (if ever), but gave them a call and emailed them as well becuause, why not.
may as well try and speed up the process if possible
guy on the phone seemed to only vaguely know what i was talking about but basically said "as long as you have a blizzcon code, you should get into the beta. leave it a few days and if nothing arrives, phone us again and we'll sort it out"
and i also just sent an email with the same information, because once again, why not.
will tell you what happens

I am right now; lost for words in a good way.. I can only say that blizzard Europe division have had no idea about how to handle blizzcon 08 keys, but I think my emails actually have updated them on some of their own rules.
From their last mail to me :: "Thank you for your e-mail. I have read over the mail you very thoroughly wrote up for us below and had a look into the matter. Unfortunatelty there hasn't been any update on how these Blizzcon keys will work in conjunction with the current beta." - blizz staff
I won't share to much from their last email to me, because I got the impression it is clearly not their fault (support staff in europe) for not being informed properly about how to handle the blizzcon 08 keys for us. But I feel I have contributed a little now to clearing it up for them, and I hope now the word will spread among their support staff so that this "clog" in the system has been cleansed ; and more people can join the beta.. Crisis adverted! *hope*
My last reply to them now will be something along the lines that hopefully the word will spread about blizzcon keys are to be handled across regions.. *crosses fingers for everyone*

I like how you took your time to thoroughly explain to them what was going on. I hope you do get the beta, and somewhere don at blizzard something is stirring up
Good luck man, crossing my fingers and toes for you

Okay, so in closing :: this is what I wrote about us the player base..
"But all my friends that also have blizzcon keys; I am abit excited that they might be joining in the near future Because most if not all of them are aswell equally comitted to our community; that revolves around our game, starcraft. We grew up with it! And for those that play Starcraft it does play a part of their lives, and we care about our game!
I hope, now that you, the support staff will get in touch with whoever you need to; to get the correct information distributed to your own staff. So that the information that has been given to your playerbase (that everyone attending blizzcon 08, and recived a beta key there) Are infact entitled to participate in the StarCraft 2 BETA at SOMEPOINT in the beta process.
Thanks again, lots of love from me to you, Ciao!
Right, i'm going to shoot some turkeys now!!

Wait, what happens when you enter your key into the upgrade game field?

lolwut:
Greetings Sam, Code which you received could be used for Wrath of the Lich King beta, infortunately it cannot be used to access Starcraft 2 Beta. Please note that unfortunately we are not accepting further Starcraft II Beta sign-ups as we have reached the current desired target for our test account pool. Further sign up opportunities for this particular beta or any other will be advertised on our website or forums. Please therefore make sure you have signed up for the Beta opt-in for your Battle.net account. You can opt in by logging into your account management page, at https://eu.battle.net/login , selecting the "Beta Profile Settings" option listed under the "Manage my Games" section and following the onscreen instructions. Please note that at least one game has to be attached to your Battle.net account before you can opt in. Please check check at http://eu.blizzard.com/en/ for regular updates. Best regards, Blizzard Entertainment Europe Patryk W.

Good luck with getting your key working.

replied with this
Hi there.
Thanks for getting back to me.
However, are you certain your information is correct? I have multiple friends who have been invited to the starcraft 2 beta, who recieved their invites to the email adresses they used to sign up with the blizzcon key, and not the email adresses tied to their opted-in battle.net accounts.
...and one that recieved both, Actually.
This would strongly suggest, nay, prove, that that the blizzcon 08 key is in fact very much redeemable for the starcraft 2 beta.
With this in mind, i'm simply asking to be treated the same as everybody else who attended blizzcon, like myself, and recieve an invite to the starcraft 2 beta.
I do not think it should matter if i entered my key 2 years ago, 2 weeks ago (like one of my friends) or if i entered it 2 days ago (as i did). I have the same sort of key as him, and i should be able to redeem it as he did, for a spot in the starcraft 2 beta, regardless of beta test quotient numbers.
I attended the convention (great times btw), i recieved my card, and like all my friends, i would now like to use it to gain access to the starcraft 2 beta, as was promised.
Thanks a lot for your help and understanding.
-Sam
going to phone them tomorrow when they've got real staff in and not weekend retards
will whine and ask to speak to supervisors until i get in
