Hello ****
Please note that unfortunately we are not accepting further Starcraft II Beta sign-ups as we have reached the current desired target for our test account pool.
Further sign up opportunities for this particular beta or any other will be advertised on our website or forums. Please therefore make sure you have signed up for the Beta opt-in for your Battle.net account.
You can opt in by logging into your account management page, at https://eu.battle.net/login , selecting the "Beta Profile Settings" option listed under the "Manage my Games" section and following the onscreen instructions. Please note that at least one game has to be attached to your Battle.net account before you can opt in.
Please check check at http://eu.blizzard.com/en/ for regular updates.

This.
Also, the devs only want to test with a certain amount of people at a time, so that's what they mean about the player pool being at its limit. They'll add more people in the future.

Yeah so that just looks like an automated email that didn't acknowledge the existence of your key at all D:

King Regards,
Pretty shady, really...

There will be other waves of beta key release. At some point they'll have to stress out their servers and for that they need a lot of users hence open beta and/or many more keys will be given out.

Now I get this :.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Please note that there was a lottery which has already been drawn for Starcraft 2 keys. There was a sign up opportunity which had a closing date before the launch date of the game. Those who had Blizzcon tickets could enter a draw and the winners received Starcraft Keys.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Best regards,
Blizzard Entertainment Europe Ruth O.
Errrrr...?
Okay, im sending this reply.. ::
Hi! Thank you for your time...!
Are you sure you have your information correct? Because what we have been told on forums from blizzard representatives, and from interviews, have been :
Lottery for those who OPTED IN to join the beta.
Those who have BLIZZCON 08 Tickets; wich I have. Are however all guaranteed to be allowed to enter the beta of StarCraft 2. This was also said by the president of Blizzard Mike Morheim, where he said that "everyone here will be joining the beta" (present at blizzcon08) (something very close to that line, i cant remember exactly his words.)
And as I did a quick forum search; This one popped up straight away : http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=15864256404&postId=158627892270&sid=3000#3 I could find more sources, will you be needing that?
I am aware that you are bringing in those with blizzcon 08 tickets in waves, mixing it with "opt-ins", and that is fine. Also that some people have to wait longer than others, as not to overload your servers.
But as i've said, I have a blizzcon 08 key, and am waiting along with lots of others for our Beta invite, an invite that has been voiced many times will come. I am also opted in, but that is not the point here, and has as i understand it nothing to do with blizzcon 08 attendance, and what came with that.
What you are saying in your reply to me here is that those with blizzcon keys, are not going to get an invite? And that those with blizzcon tickets were also in a lottery system? Because that is the way I am understanding your replies to me here. Am i missunderstanding what you mean?
I want to also remind that after I sent in my blizzcon08 key for registration, at this page :: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/beta-signup.html (directed to me from http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_GB&articleId=37482&parentCategoryId&pageNumber=1&categoryId=7040 )
I recived this confirmation mail:
-- "This eMail is to confirm the address entered for the Blizzard Future Beta Sign-Up. When the chosen beta test begins in the future, we will eMail this address with further instructions. Please keep this eMail active and make sure to check back - you never know when your invitation will appear!
Thank you for your interest in testing our games -- we hope to see you soon!
Here is your signup information:
deleted --
I am including my Blizzcon 08 key here : (not so lucky...) This is as I understand it diffrent from having a beta key, it is an access key used to recive the confirmation email listed above. Wich I have done. And the confirmation mail you can see.
Are you saying that those with blizzcon 08 vouchers/keys/tickets/goodybag beta key whatever you want to call it - are not certain of reciving a beta invite?
I can understand this is a hectic time for you guys. Or is it ? You are a pretty big company with many divisions now, maybe the information has been bogged up somewhere?
Thanks alot for clearing this up, and I hope you can clarify for me.
Confused regards from ''''
I'm abit stunned... :o

Kinda fun to blog about my tech support adventures.. !
|
By the way, don't you think it's funny that out of several Blizzard support e-mail addresses only 1 doesn't contain "WoW" in it?
|
Sorry but what is it you want from them?
You successfully put your blizzcon key in at the bnet account, it was your decision to wait this long to do it, they aren't going to make an exception for you and add you to the beta before another wave.
The CS guy didn't give you the most clear answer, but what you are asking of them is out of their power

Err, read what they wrote to me..

This is not what I heard. I have head repeatedly that those with b08 keys would all be accepted.

I think what he is trying to say is that the amount of blizzcon key holders exceeds the amount of people they want to let in per wave. Which is a reasonable assumption since not every one of them got in on the first wave, and I guess not the second one either if you didn't get in yet, or if you input your key late.
So he's technically not wrong or misinformed, just not giving a very clear explanation

Okay, I well you might be right ofcourse. But if you scroll up abit to my long mail above, in it there is a forum link to something karune said. That there will be a system for adding the key to b.net account page. Ofcourse, things change, its a long time ago.. I dunno...
"When StarCraft II Beta starts, BlizzCon beta key holders will be able to enter their key through their Battle.net account management page. There currently isn't an option to do that yet since the beta has not yet started. Either way, don't worry, your keys will work just fine " - karune
And if he meant seriusly that there was a closing date for blizzcon08 attendees to use their keys, I can't find any information about that. Do any of you?
