also i don't know if you believe me at that point, but i caught an amazing amount of references in lucky star for a westerner, but i still liked, say, azumanga's style of comedy better. hell, haruhi-chan was at least twice as strong for a 4koma adaptation.

JC Staff is okay, though I think they butchered HnG's character designs.

I think it's only a passing fad, since there's really nothing explosive this season (personally Cross Game is my favourite anime of the season, but I'm an Adachi fan), and it involves lots of moe, music, and basic humor so people like it. I don't find it that funny, and the cute was only good for the first 5 minutes before the main character's retardation starting pissing me off. Probably just a matter of personal taste? I really enjoyed the FMP series as a light novel, to the point of everything else other than Fumoffu feeling subpar, heh. As for Lucky Star, you could've caught a ton of references and still not enjoyed it as much I suppose? The reaction I saw from Asians and Westerners in terms of reaction to Haruhi-chan and Lucky Star is quite different, the latter seems to be geared more towards Asians. Not as much into drama TBH, and key/visualarts stuff is all pretty drama/romance heavy and had little humour (from at least what I watched). School Days was probably the only drama-heavy anime I watched, if only for the WTF ending. edit: I think renaming the thread is a good idea. It's nice to have anime discussion without trolls for once.

I'm not complaining or anything, I'm happy to be discussing something like this so nicely :D That'd be way too vague wouldn't it? The only saving grace would be that Haruhi and k-on are separated atm, but even then we risk having way too much here at once. Just from this season we'll be like talking about Munto, Haruhi, Haruhi-chan, and k-on. On May 30 2009 04:11 King K. They kicked up on the comedy significantly with Clannad and Little Busters, Kanon is still closer to Air, unfortunately I still haven't heard of anything about LB being animated. On the other hand, the is Rewrite and that other one (gah I can't think it as anything else other than Haruhi ripoff character design), plenty of things to look forward to visual novel wise.

edit: WUT?! School Day's ............................. Seriously if you watched that then pretty much any anime should meet your minimum requirements holy shit School Days was so fucking ()facepalm() bad. Hahaha. I "watched" most of the first 10 or so episodes while playing on my PS2. I didn't enjoy it at all other than the ending, which was one of the most spectacular things I've seen.

If we're talking about KyoAni then it'll last for a few pages, then slowly maybe another, like Key or something.

Theatrical version just showed I think, I keep on seeing character songs popping around. On May 30 2009 04:14 King K. Rool wrote: Is Haruhi-chan worth watching? The 4koma was excellent, and I can't wait till they start doing disappearance in haruhi-chan style. School Days lol, that was some ending. I didn't watch it at all (though I know what has happened) and somehow got some friends to watch it without question. Lovely responses.

School Days was kind of okay since it was rather refreshing (with the main character dying, the female protagonists going totally different directions, rage against Makoto, etc)
