On a side note I love how regarding end of the world scenarios everyone seems to have this fantasy of stacking up huge amounts of canned food and small arms and ammunition but somehow expects drinkable water coming from the tab.

Russia officially stopped its importations of Mexican pigs. They were at a huge 0 kg per year before that. :D

Hum. No. They had to close a school here in NY a county over because 50 kids got infected, and I don't know if you ever had the flu, it can be fatal, 95% of the time it won't be, but it'll hurt the economy if a couple thousand workers in a town have to stay at home for work. And generally people who stock up on food, get bottled water so your cynicism is oddly placed. Also if people AREN'T informed about an outbreak you get something like AIDS that devastates a whole continent or something like in 1918. It is better to overreact then not at all. No one is getting hurt right now unless you're in Mexico City.
