Classes of all levels (from kindergarden to Universities) have been suspended until the 6th of May, situation is starting to get out of control. The economy is also beginning to crumble, there was a decrease in 3.7% in the BMV ![]()

Supposedly, the virus is not resistant in high temperatures, but there are people here who had/have flu two or three weeks.

I am from Toluca, a city 1 hour and a half away from Mexico City.... Yeah, schools are all closed 'til may 6th (that's awful cuz that was the last day of my semester) Second, you CAN go to public places, but many of them (NOT ALL OF THEM) are already closed, cinemas, parks, restaurants, bars, etc. Besides, it feels like in I am a legend....well..not that much...but streets are not very crowded... and many other wear mmm dont know its name...the thingy u use to cover ur mouth? hehe Some others just think everything as a joke and are behaving as nothing is happening around them.... I just think that's stupid U_U We don't know the exact number of dead people.... The government says there are only 20 cases related to the virus, but there are over 100 people died already....and no one explains the reality!! Another thing: an email is being circulated, it says there is NO swine flu going around, it says it's another letal virus but the government doesnt want to tell because everybody would panic.... Honestly, i do not know what to believe....the only thing is that everybody in my family and friends are taking precautions.... ![]()

The government says there are only 20 cases related to the virus, but there are over 100 people died already Awful grammar...sorry!! Sorry, the governmet says only 20 deaths are related to the virus, but in many newpapers and different media say thera are more than 100.... Every notice is different U_U Horrible... Another thing!! this virus DID NOT START IN MEXICO!! Every one is thinking that, US especially.... This did not start here! It started somewhere is Asia, carried it to the south of the US and then infected mexican population ok? ¬¬

As many have commented, no school until 6th may (and even then, thats only a temptative date) all the daycares are closed too (thats a big impact to working single moms), many public events have cancelled, "the rasmus" concert was cancelled, Wolverine movie premier havent been cancelled yet but Hugh Jackman wont be attending, i heard that Metallica also cancelled... Mexico city looks like a ghost town compared to 2 weeks ago, while generally i would be happy of that (no crowd in a big & interesting city is nice) now its just depressing, but if the gov choose do the next move (closing the subway and other means of public transportation) THEN chaos would ensure.. many business have already closed their doors until further notice, and the ones that havent would suffer a lot of absences, this looks like a biblical scene.. about an hour ago and earthquake happened, while it was a short one, it was bad enough to make a significant crack over my appartment wall and fitting enough there was a grasshopper on steroids at my window.. Yesterday i went to the hospital, but in the end i regret it a bit, im ready to beat this thing.. like travis said, iam already microing my family, and even if i lose my main i have setted up a secret expo, if this thing goes out of control ill go back to my hometown, so far we cant do anything except keep living our lives, i dont plan to stop working at all unless i got sick but even then, ill drown myself in teramiflu.. thanks to all the ppl that have wished us the best.. and the ones that keep jumping at the LOL in the op.. well i wont excuse myself but you guys shouldnt be skipping the whole thread..

As for the treatment, Tamiflu has been proven effective in vitro on this strain, but no clinical studies yet.
