Obviously it's not like I expect people will be doing their training on the final boss, but still. Nobody else remembers how stupidly hard beating the CPU was in MK II?

1) Be safe while attacking your opponent. 2) Punish any non-safe move by your opponent. 3) Maximalize the damage if you hit. A bit more detailed: 1) Don't risk (too much). For example, don't use slow attacks. Don't use attacks which leave you in a disadvantage if the opponent blocks them. Usually these moves have their place in the game, but not in this phase, when you want to break the opponents guard. This part can be learnt by guides, tutorials, frame date tables (to look which move gives you advantage) etc. For 2) you need experience. You need a quite good "lexical" knowledge about the game, this means knowing each character you play against. Some of their moves are obviously punishable, but some of them not. You need to read or experiment a lot usually. For 3), you have to decide which is the most damaging action you can do at a time. Usually don't have to use too much brain, but sometimes you need good execution and decision making for doing the most damaging combo. This can be learnt by tutorials and spending time in Training mode of your chosen game. Shoryuken forums I think you can read here a lot about SC4, strategies, tactics etc. It is apparently down now :\

I really need to stop jumping against Shotos, and just jumping in general. I always end up taking a dragon punch to the face or eating an air projectile. On the bright side, he told me how to not suck with Akuma. When the SRK forums go back up I have some reading to do.

For that matter, why don't we compile all of our GGPO/2DF handles in one place so we can get some games in for fun and laughs? Maybe list which games played too. GGPO: Myrmidon; playing Vampire Savior, Super Turbo 2DF: Myrmidon; playing TwinkleStar Sprites, Magical Drop 3, Vampire Savior (1-2, prefer 1), Super Turbo...3rd Strike only if it's one of you guys otherwise no Btw who's 2DF starchild? You should watch for yourself.I remember seeing Isai's hands when he did his double jump cancel shenanigans with ness. Shit was nuts, that guy breaks a controller like every week. His pikachu was beyond godlike though. You sure that the guy on kaillera is the same Isai? that guys a legend, not sure if he'd be wasting time online. From what I've seen of it in EVO and Japanese videos, it has a lot of potential. Definately one of the best 'new' release for a starting Street Fighter series. SF3 nex gen, Street Fighter Alpha 1, & Capcom vs SNK 1 suck in comparision.

That's about the worst "arcade" ever. They have 3s there and the controls are all fucked up (they never fix the shit either). I guess if it's a new cabinet it'll be ok for a while. What's cool is they have freeplay days Monday through Thursday (pay $10, all the machines are on freeplay).
