Fun group, also saving us from yet more Z in the Ro16.
I dont think I ve ever had a worse RO24 liquibet streak though, this has been wild.

Poor JD but he's not in good form lately sadly. It wasn't that hard group for him and that ZvZ muta suicide at end from him was painful, he needs to work on his decision making. Looking at Ivory's qualifiers he knocked out sSak who's number 1 terran on ladder from words of Artosis and SoMa at end. If he won't choke like all amateurs on stage he has a bit of chance.

Ample definitely is not tier 4 skill. But he definitely has weaknesses. Ample is slow at responding and adjusting but great at proactive play where he makes the move that the opponent has to respond to. If he can maintain a proactive game state, specifically in TvZ he's capable of taking down any zerg. He's a tier 2 in TvZ. TvT tier 3 and TvP tier 4. TvP is a reactive match-up, specifically what he's bad at. If he gets a proactive TvP game state he's way better. Guess it has to do with some map awareness and information gathering.

Well put. that makes sense. Seeing how ro24 shaping up with ton of zergs I think Ample has a chance to get into ro8. I was expecting him to rise just like RoyaL and JyJ finally overcame their weaknesses but Ample needs to put hell a lot of work if he wants to be considered somewhat top 5 terran. Now for me it's like Light = RoyaL > JyJ = Rush > Mind.

Y'all just haven't seen the Chample in action. Anyways, I stopped rooting for Jaedong a long time ago because he's got too much rust in his joints or something. When he just ran his mutas into Sharp's army before GGing i was like yea, OK. Had one of these fuckin (...) moments. I even think the (...) was physically over my head for like 5 minutes. Then I started laughing. JD WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

JD prolly thought Sharp's screen was somewhere else and he'd get a few mauls off before stim was activated, possibly turning the fight. But JD does this a lot these days. A lot of weird gambles. I get it tho. such a competitive environment and his springs aren't as tightly wound as they used to be. But given that, i'd probably play more strategical if i were him. Go for some weirder builds and maybe some cheese. i'd certainly understand it more than straight up questionable tactical play.

Sharp said later that JD was baiting him into attacking with the one sunken because Sharp is known to usually f*ck up his early game TvZ this way, but for once Sharp decided not to take the bait and pulled out That probably threw off JD's plan and led to the bad decision to attack w the lings, but great stim timing on Sharp's part

No, wait. That can't be. It has to be that they're just bad at the game lmao

And even as a big Snow fan, I'm not really opposed to the Bo1. It's what makes this portion of the tournament fun to watch.

[Spoilers] Is it just me or are TvZs getting really predictable and in turn so boring to me? Marine ball plus medic, mow down mutalisks, bust down a zerg base, rinse and repeat. Because it is simply impossible for the zerg to properly allocate all resources until defiler+lurkers are out. Is it a map thing, or is it a skill level / decision making of individual players thing? I know conceptually it is the most efficient way, but I miss the times when it isn't so streamlined. Maybe I'm just biased towards Zero and JD and are pissed that they played poorly.

Someone will come with a new build soon enough and it’ll make a need for an adjustment in how the matchup is played. But I think the prevailing style of muta > lurk > hive will prevail. It’s by far the best way for zergs to play the matchup. Zergs may come up with some great new timing though or terrans might randomly find some new cool mech build. It’ll keep evolving.

On August 22 2023 21:14 konadora wrote: Dong has been avenged, thats all that matters YES! No fucking way that chard nerd Zero will advance over JD's misfortune! If JD goes down, better take the whole zerg mothership with it, and let some upstart terran give a chance to advance into RO16 (just because Ample took Soma in such a stylish way last time he deserves a RO16). JD, it does not matter how bad you play - i will never say a bad word on you! You are the manliest zerg of all time, every zerg player wants to be assimilated into your creep or become one of your lieutenants/blobs/cerebrates!

Group highlight goes to Queen for his Gas only expand on Invader. I could not believe the drones jumping over the ramp LOL. Secondary highlight goes to the back and forth winners game. Group lowlight also goes to Queen for sniping 5 Valks and then just getting busted anyway.
