Rip the ByuN dream (he is getting discharged from the Army on the 31st so he can't play in this).

Question is going to be, if he could theoretical get enough points from ST 2 and ESL Opens alone to qualify for Katowice - and if his level is even good enough to get those results. Ladder isn t everything in the end.

there will a global (probably offline) event in January which will give a direct seed to Katowice and probably many points too

So I guess this means season 3 will be played immediately after the ongoing season. And will then be over by the end of October. So the only Korean SC2 from then to Katowice in February/March will be ST2.
Weird scheduling this.

Yeah, they could have easily streched it a bit, instead of sticking to the old schedule from previous years, were everything had to be done for BlizzCon.

I'll see what I can do, but after two consecutive "no" answers, I'm not hopeful.

do you speak of the presumed IEM China event?
I'm quite hopeful that the global pandemic situation improves enough so that we can still have it, but I don't want to count chickens before they hatch

meh, one would think there'd be no rush to have the third season start this early, what with blizzcon having been axed and all

Well, I think with the pending military service of players like soO, Zest, and Stats, and the large # of play-in spots in the new IEM Katowice format, ByuN has an outside chance of making it with a very good Super Tournament 2 run :o

yay! congrats Creighton and thanks for all you do!

YES, really hyped for this, the qualifiers usually bring some really exciting matchups that also sometimes ends up being very important series. Always so sad when I see those pivotal series taking place and knowing they weren't casted.
