If there are disagreements over anything going on with the event, discuss it,don't muck it up with memes and copypasta, this is a final warning we will start handing out bans from here on out. |

You should be fine to do that actually, even if you're only used to 1.16. SCR has an option for pillar-box / emulate the old 1.16 look and feel. So likely, you won't notice a difference. You don't really 'need' an MMR to enter or not, we just wanted to see what range of skill will be participating. Maybe you have an Iccup rank?
Either way, come on over.

Gurthang#1546 Protoss 1300 MMR
Might as well give it a shot since I'm going with Tim anyway

Map pool has been decided! The format of the tournament is still a bit up in the air because it depends heavily on how many computers will be reserved and how many players will sign up, but in the meantime I thought it'd be nice for you guys to know ahead of time and start practicing on the maps: 4 Player: Fighting Spirit, Circuit Breaker, Python, In the Way of an Eddy 3 Player: Longinus, Sylphid 2 Player: Crossing Field Download the map pack! LUL what do you need the Blizzard license for? Does that mean you're getting sent some swag to give out ? Just covering all bases

Example:
Battle.net Account: hazelynut#1113 Race: Chinese-American Protoss MMR: No clue. D in ICCUP in 2008, Masters in SC2 in 2012, trash tier in 2019.

I want to blow this thing up with all the resources and connections I have.
This is a dumb question fosho but is this SC:R or SC:BW? I confused about where the community has landed.
|
they are basically the same thing, but SC:R is what most people play
|

Ok, sadly iccup ranks have become largely meaningless :D but about A- 1x1 and A+ 2x2. I thought I had heard about SC:R emulating 1.16 it's good to have confirmation because even the slightest changes can ruin your gameplay as everyone knows lol. I'm only around 2 hours from this event so likely will attend. EDIT: Oh yea I'm protoss if you couldn't tell by my nick or simple vocabulary.

Damn, impressive how many people are interesting in going. Maybe I'll throw a Houston LAN if this is a success.

I love the enthusiasm! I don't know what that link is unless I make an account so could you possibly elaborate?

It's a "new kind of spreadsheet" for organizing events, projects, etc. I find it more effective than a bunch of Google spreadsheets for developing some level of institutional knowledge. I'm using it to plan my wedding!

One thing that I think would be the most useful at this juncture, particularly for the NYC area, is having a list of venues that we can choose from. In particular, those that are open to the public, where it is located/proximity to pub trans, how many computers in how many rooms, what the going rate is (for net cafes), pictures and notes on the location (has AC or doesn't), etc. Selecting a location from NJ is difficult without actually going to the location, and people who are local to NY may have a lot more knowledge or at the very least easy access to such things. I think that is what would be most helpful going forward from the administrative end for events such as this one.

If I'm there there will be no UMS, no team games, no money maps, no fun PERIOD. We're going there to be stressed out playing for money and get either violent or depressed if we lose.
