Igor Lacik (T) vs Martin Rooyackers (T)
First person view from Lacik, would really have wanted to see Rooyackers because he is unbeaten in the student competition yet!
+ Show Spoiler +Lacik going marine heavy. Didn't turn out vs the previous terrans in the dark with their tank pushes, but we'll see! 2 marine's of Rooyacker's come knocking... oh the pressure, will Lacik hold? Lacik holds! Rooyackers doggedly keeps on the pressure too much mining time lost I fear gg

This is awesome
|
Not every day you see spirit medics.
Edit: And Ostroumov is upset by Istenik!
|
Lucia Pivackova (T) vs Karin Valisova (T)
Compared to the 'real' starcraft world, there is a large contingent of female programers (I knew this misspelling would come in handy someday). Terran seems to have the field today, so lets look at these two ladies duke it out!
+ Show Spoiler +the first aggressive move by Pivackova is met by ALL scvs, some marines and firebats preparing another lot to send over the top to arms! Valisova at the gates lets fiddle while our backwater post burns attack cleared and now onwards! too bad the new mineral field is contested Valisova delivers the coup de grace Both rather limited AIs, I suppose, of which Valisova managed to last the longest. Pivackova stalled and went catatonic for too long, which led to the inevitable.

I need to eat! But the games keep being awesome. Make it stop for 30 minutes PLEASE!
Maja Nemsilajova (t) vs Marian Devecka (Z)
Tuned in too late to this one, so DAMN ME!
+ Show Spoiler +this was a really impressive hold with lings, sunkens and lurkers vs some m&m imperial lurkers have entered the base! imperial lurkers have KCCCCCCCCCGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHgg Devecka moves up very high on my to watch list, zerg needed a champion and she may be it!
|
ICELab on deck, and Rooijackers in the hole!
Edit: wait, I'm a game off here. sorry
|
Some of theses bots are pretty good! That's a really nice tournament,
|
Keep up the good work, nepeta! (y) Awesome stuff! BTW, the BWAPI AI community would be grateful if you do some commented vods on replays after the tournament! Thanks again!
Disclaimer: on of the authors here (Krasimir Krystev).

Short recap: + Show Spoiler + IceLab defeats a 4-pool bot with a bunker and goliaths, my bot defeats NUS-Bot with a bunker rush and Martin Pinter wins based on in-game score after the timer expired.
|
Last couple of games are really silly, both bots stalling...
|
Martin Strapko vs. Igor Lacik + Show Spoiler +Another game decided by the in-game score after the timer expired. Igor Lacik decided to build many proxy Command Centers : The match was won by Igor Lacik due to in-game score.
|
Short recap: + Show Spoiler + Jan Pajan(Terran) vs Krasimir Krystev(Terran):
Krasi0 steamrolled Jan Pajan with vultures.
Florian Richoux(Protoss) vs. Dave Churchill(Protoss):
The bot developed by Dave Churchill uses a combat simulator to micro its units. Florian Richoux could not deal with this micro, and thus lost.
Jan Pajan(Terran) vs. Daniel Blackburn (Zerg):
4 pool zerg rush > standard Terran play
|
Cere vs Rooijackers coming up, both undefeated yet! Rooijackers' Letabot is 13-0, Cere is 9-0. The Dutch Letabot relies on early marine pressure with good micro, I haven't seen Cere yet, but it's going to be great! Lets hope the games until then make it quick.
|
Some more recap: + Show Spoiler +Igor Lacik(Terran) vs. Roman Danielis(Protoss):Roman Danielis got held up by a neutral building. This allowed Igor Lacik to build a large Medic/Marine army with siege tank backup. The M&M also got stuck on the same neutral building, until the bot found a detour. Despite the large amount of photon cannons, Protoss was overwhelmed by the M&M force. NUS-Bot(P) vs. Lucia Pivackova(T):Nus-Bot opens with dragoons/zealot. Superior micro allows it to defeat Lucia Pivackova. Vojtech Jirsa(T) vs. Maja(T):Maja opens with an aggresive Bio build. This shocked Vojtech so much that it dropped out of the game Jan Pajan(T) vs. Denis Ivancik(Z):A hero drone almost destroyed the Barracks, but dies before it finished the job. After over-saturating the Refinery, Jan Pajan attacks with vultures and wins. [b]Matej Kravjar(Z) vs. Florian Richoux(P): Matej Kravjar opens with a zerg rush, but the Hero probe distracts the zerlings. This allows Florian Richoux to build up a Zealot/DT army that crushes Matej Kravjar

Martin Rooijackers (T) vs Tomas Cere (P)
This is the match of the day: Two undefeated champions. How did Rooijackers' LetaBot rack up a 12-0 score? So far we've seen nothing of him but as an enemy: no view. His secret, as it turned out, was a very dirty, very tiny one. Lets find out if it worked once more against the CereBot, whose score at the start of this little match was 9-0.
+ Show Spoiler +Where are 2 of the 4 starting SCVs going? Proxy rax on a 2 player map! The pressure is on- - and rising - and done. Slightly above the protoss base there are 2 dots on the minimap: 2 bunkers. Can you read the text on the last screenshot? Dev mode hasn't been disabled, so we can see what LetaBot's 13-0 strategy is all about: Getting 4 marines into 1 bunker, and later 8 into 2. If the bunkers are not under attack, the marines seek out and destroy. Look ma: with only 4 SCV's mining! 2 SCVs out and 4 marines, ultimate pressure before a depot is needed. 13-0 off a 1 rax cheese build, in AI battle only. Simple, elegant, 13-0. GG LetaBot, good luck with the rest of the tournament!

Tomas Vajda (P) vs Vladimir Jurenka (P)
Another cutesy build: a couple of zealots out first, then macro up until 3 gate, 3 base carrier. One screenshot says it all:
+ Show Spoiler +
|
Tomas Cere(P) vs. LetaBot(T): The match between the last two bots that both have a win rate of 100%. + Show Spoiler +The bunker rush strategy worked on all the other protoss bots encountered, thus LetaBot also tried it against Tomas Cere. (Shown here with a weird screen grab of mine) The Marines attack the Probes: The zealots try to attack the Marines, but the marines managed to get in the bunker in time After a bit of back and forth, the Marines destroy the Nexus But I didn't have enough time to program the marines to finish the game, hence LetaBot is building Wraiths to scout and attack the remaining buildings. They eventually find the building and destroy it, resulting in the following victory screen: And now LetaBot is the only bot in the tournament that still has a 100% winrate
|
ICELab (T) vs Martin Dekar (T)
Can we talk about beauty for a minute? Having just discovered LetaBot's dirty little secret, lets look at a truly monstrous bot.
+ Show Spoiler +Expand, capture enemy choke. Provide high ground vision. Coordinate perfect mech/infantry assault. Map out the high ground, don't expose scouts too much. Base destroyed. Have a look at the minimap. Brand spanking new base with turret. The observer doesn't show it, but SCVs being redistributed. SCVs are now long-distance mining. Notice in the right corner the penalty box. If more than 320 frames take longer than 55 milliseconds to execute, ICELab will be judged to have lost the match. There may be a building floating around somewhere, we can't see. The one thing in this game that proves ICELab is still a bot, is that it mines out the map rather than scout somewhere it hasn't already. Lets hope the timer of 90 real life minutes runs out before ICELab gets disqualified. The timer ran out before ICELab had time to make too many excess operations errors and won. GG!

Great victory! I missed the screenshot of the zealot attacking the bunkers, good to see you got it. ICELab should have copied your searching wraith algorithm TT

Commented vods would be nice, would have to look into that coming weekend. This tournament format is really challenging to any kind of format that isn't an exhibition of some sort. There is no clear structure other than a giant matrix of who plays who. There are many cool things to demonstrate though, so it's still a good idea.
Will there be a more structured tournament too?
