Working for TL is applicable and recognized work experience and will not only introduce you to traditional work expectations, processes and practices, but also serve a great start to broaden your network of people and friends within the gaming scene that you love.
Whether you're just passionate to contribute or what to know where it can lead you, TL is a pretty great start.
You should get involved in these sorts of experiences if you find it self-fulfilling/sentimentally rewarding or as a part of a learning experience into a growing career. Don't get involved if there is no real feeling of return or appreciation for your work, you shouldn't see contributing as a selfless act but as a rewarding one, by whatever grounds that may be. If there is no feeling of reward, then you pretty much know you are not interested (and that's fine).

yeah I would love to apply, but I don't even have access to the game yet so it'd probably be hard, partly because I don't even know if I like it yet o_O

Not that it should really matter - it isn't what most (if any) of us signed up for - but we do get TL store discounts and access to press passes for a bunch (most) SC-related events. Depending on what you're like, a more public outlet for your opinion (writing editorials really fits some people and allows them to share their opinions where more people will see them) is also a plus. And I mean, I guess TL can probably be a way to get into other esports-related things if you're really into it, so you can think of it as an opporunity to broaden your skillset and so forth. Also when we produce good content, we only get half as many beatings from TLHQ. Show nested quote +On November 15 2014 07:13 Zenbrez wrote:On November 15 2014 06:59 fezvez wrote: LiquidHotS?

LiquidMOBA? (Probably not, there's already LiquidDota)
I am a bit concerned over TL's massive expansion over the past few years. Victor has been in the industry a long time and I'm sure he understands what he's getting into. Also this coverage may just be on this website with a view opt in/out option like dota used to have. If that's the case there's nothing really at risk, they're just gathering volunteer writers to cover events. This is thinking waaaaay ahead, right now we aren't even close to that. Right now I just want to upgrade coverage because its a game I think has a lot of potential.
But where would you put it?

How did you not think about LiquidStorm?

Of course it doesn't matter, and love of the games and scene is the main motivation behind it, but I was just curious since I wasn't aware of them benefits before. Something to look into for myself for sure, since a job in esports sounds like a dream to me.

Sorry, just being a whiny bitch like usual. No more whining, promise (for at least an hour)

Teamliquid.net and all the teamliquid sites are registered with enom, Liquidheroes is registered with enom but liquidoverwatch is not, Liquidoverwatch is registered with godaddy so chances are someone took the liquidoverwatch domain before teamliquid did.

LiquidWatch!
And that's assuming Overwatch develops into something TL wants to cover, anyway.

I would've tried applying but without access to the game, can't tell just how much I will like it (if at all lol). Best of luck to those who did!

Not sure. But I do remember a few months back when they were looking for Starcraft 2 writers and had no intentions of paying them either."Your reward is having your writing read". FailFish. TL is worth like $30-$50 Million, probably even more, but they can't afford to pay writers lol.

I think TL has value that can not be translated into money and should not.
And I love the Alpha <3

No salary. But opportunity to work in TL. Hm sounds pretty good But it's kinda a daunting task, because although I have solid English, I have almost no knowledge of Heroes of the Storm. IT would require a lot of research wouldn't it?

this is why I keep posting. When Nazgul passes away, decades into TeamLiquid's coming decline as everyone starts to have children and get involved in real sports like Bocce Ball, I will be there, discussing how awful Final Fantasy 58 is. He'll leave me 1% of his fortune.
