Not really, but you're right. Let me rephrase to be more precise: even though there have always been "daed gaem" posts here and there, I feel like I have seen more of them in the past few days. And I'm really getting tired of it...

There are plenty of reasons to be positive and optimistic !! :-) where did i say the game was dead? the game itself is great. the mod kit or "galaxy builder" is awesome. blizzard did a great job, and, Blizzard continues to provide incredible post sales support for SC2. playing 1v1s, 2v2s and Zealot Hockey is a blast for me and my friends. blizzard needs to have the balls to hand the competitive leagues surrounding their game off to some really smart event promoters. they did this by default with brood war.. and thus far its worked the best. Blizzard is not in the business of "manufacturing famous stars". I do not think they are even focused on it. the game itself, the MOD kit, and "competitive event promotion" are different subjects.

WoW has monthly payments and Diablo works on 5 systems with mouse/keyboard or controller. 2014 SC esports has already failed. Most of Blizzcon's attendants are there for non-Starcraft related events. This seems to imply that you think that Blizzcon should have a large attendance of Starcraft related people but its perfectly normal.

People being there for non-starcraft events is a good thing. It means there is a greater chance that someone who went for another game might see a sc game by chance and decide it is interesting and pick it up. Accessibility is only a positive, especially if you are trying to extend the already short shelf life of a game by planning three expansions. That means new customers, which are the most important thing in the continued success of a brand that doesn't have reoccurring costs like WoW or any other revenue streams besides the purchase price failing to see any single good point in this thing

Now, if you want to look at this from a "But they promised x, y, and z and didn't deliver", then you may be right. Blizzard promised some stuff that was not delivered. Or was it a 'promise' at all? There was no verbal or contractual obligations that needed to be fulfilled by Blizzard to the consumers, only target goals. If Blizzard announced something as a 'goal', they could simply say 'Things got complicated, and we were unable to meet our goal', which is basically what they do say when projects fall flat. There's even a chance they could scrap their Legacy of The Void project altogether. I actually can't believe they decided to completely scrap Titanfall. But that's something that happens when you're running a corporation. You need to make money and you have a legal obligation to the stockholders to do so. Blizzard isn't a giant machine with infinite money and resources, so releasing another Diablo 3 could potentially ruin them. They focus on the projects and games they believe will keep them alive as a viable business, and since E-Sports is not a viable enough market in North America, there seems to be no logical reason for them to ever invest significant time or money into it, regardless of how stinging that may sound.

I think Blizzard saw a big opportunity for "E-Sports" as a model for making money, but have since abandoned the idea after ruining everything for everyone else. This is why we can't have nice things.

A) LotV will fail and everyone will go back to BroodWar B) LotV will be a lot more like BW and will succeed. These are the only options in my eyes, if LotV is lack luster, BW is the only option for me.

The most important question you have to ask yourself is, "is this game really fun and good to play over and over?" With Brood War, the answer was a most definite "yes." Every Brood War game was entirely different, the micro intricate and unique each battle, etc. With SC2, a lot of the games are repetitive and the same each game. The micro is not as in depth because of the hard counter system. There were many things that us teamliquidites here on TL tried to get through to blizzard as far back as the Wings of Liberty beta. Remember high ground advantage? Remember those Depth of Micro threads with Lalush showing what the game could be? Remember all the talk of skins for each race? Customization for the casual...etc. Balance patches? Too few, and far in between that never really address strategic diversity or balance enough. It's the gameplay at it's core that is the single thing to blame. People try to scapegoat other things, kespa, tournies, etc. Nope. It's the gameplay. Let's all hope LOTV gets the game back on track.
