Only in big cities and maybe small countries too. City Seoul has over 9m population and I dont think it is difficult to have 20k+ people (in that stadium) in Seoul. Everything else is too expensive for everyone (flights, accommodations etc), especially for people who are 12-25yo.
edit: dont worry, you will see the evidence if we see/have DH/IEM in Seoul.

Why do you find shocking that most BlizzCon attendants are there for non-Starcraft events? There are, if I'm correct, five Blizzard games represented at BlizzCon (WoW, D3, SC2, HOTS, HS). What wouldn't be logical would be more people coming for SC2 than for WoW or something else

Wait, wtf... I thought the entry to those Kespa events in the video were free?! :o

I'm sure the NHL is somehow involved; I was expecting something more hard-hitting, Jimmy. Tsk tsk.

Personally, I blame the Patriarchy for the decline of SC2.

I rather think that blizzard dont want promoting so much on sc2 (and Diablo3). They gain alot more if they promote HS, HOTS and WoW. Thats why I think they dont make Diablo3 a very exceptional game (like Diablo2) because they will lose a lot $$$ and WoW-subscribers (WoW users switch to HS or D3 or HOTS).

The whole point of blizzcon is cross promotion between their games.
|
Blizzcon has never has SC as a large focus, and the large majority of people have always gone for WoW.

I'm curious what you think about Blizzcon this year vs Blizzcon in 2011. When the crowd roared to Mvp vs MMA, was SC2 already declining because the tournament was hosted at Blizzcon?

Blizzard didn't become big because of Starcraft alone, they became big through Diablo and through I would argue by far the largest part due to the Warcraft franchise.
What the hell gave you the idea that Starcraft is Blizzards biggest franchise? It is small if not tiny compared to the Warcraft franchise.

Ohh... Jimmy my Jimmy You thought Mengsk was a good guy. You thought infested Kerrigan was doing good then she killed your friend Phenix... Then you got fooled by Tychus.
I'm not surprised you think SC2 is in decline.

Most of Blizzcon's attendants are there for non-Starcraft related events. Which is why they've moved so much of the WCS championships away from the core Blizzcon experience
Which is the whole point of BlizzCon, it's not called "StarCon" for a reason. Since when has BlizzCon ever been focused mostly or purely on SC?
Okay SC2 might not be as visibly successful as other games or BW but you can't put it all on Blizzard, people's tastes change. Even if SC2 had all those additions people were begging for I doubt the popularity would have risen to the point where SC2 would be numero uno e-sport with LoL and Dota 2 hanging behind. Either way, SC2 is showing signs of life again with another Korean league, KeSPA changes and WCS, the game isn't anywhere near dead.

People like fun and easy and something you can do with your friends.
Starcraft 2 is neither is those.

when did i say Starcraft is Blizzard's biggest franchise?
its way behind WoW and somewhat behind Diablo3. and its less strategic than both in terms of revenue generation.
WoW has monthly payments and Diablo works on 5 systems with mouse/keyboard or controller.

Actually, you can play SC2 with friends in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and so on, and can have fun doing that. Moba games are like white jeans. Everyone is wearing them, so why not you? Unless you're a total square.
