Things are finally rolling into gear as we approach the unravelling of the new season. GomTV3 MSL opened with a very successful day 1, Group A being the one of the deadliest "group of death", producing high-class games.
Unfurtunately the following Group isn't as nearly as exciting. Not to mention that most of the player's name values drop off drastically, they're all terrans, guarnteeing 5 consecutive TvT's and nothing else. Hell on earth.
Group G: Sept 15th – 18:30 Korean Game 1 – 910 vs. Lomo @ Blue Storm Game 2 – XellOs vs. Hery @ Loki II Winners @ Python Losers @ Python Final @ Zodiac
910 (T) vs. Lomo (T) @ Blue Storm
With 4 terrans in one group, only one matchup statistic matters, Terran vs Terran.
These two have no record of playing against each other. 910, coming back after getting battered by Stork 0-3 last season, has a fairly nice TvT statistic of 6-1.. two of those coming from none other than XellOs, who'm he beat last season of MSL, and is stuck with again.
Lomo's statistics are less impressive, having only 2 games recorded. His 1-1 statistics doesn't say much, except for that fact that he took the 1 win from Oov. Statistics say 910, aswell does my instinct and experience. But to be brutally honest, who cares?
XellOs (T) vs. Hery (T) @ Loki II
Now here's a much more interesting match. XellOs is seemingly crawling out of his slump with news of his humble training, while Hery is someone whom KTF always seems to have faith in, being used quite often in Proleague.
The favorite here is obviously the Perfect Terran. But XellOs is 4-6 in his last 10 TvT's, while Hery is 7-3, giving the edge to Hery. Will XellOs break out of his slump and remind the world just how perfect he can be? He damn well better.
Remaining Games With the rest of the matches being TvT's on Python and Zodiac, there isn't much to say here. It is a question of who will come out with the better builds, and better map understanding. Not many people are betting on Lomo making it out of this group (and I don't blame ya), while many are hoping XellOs to make a return to the proscene. I for one am hoping he gets his revenge on 910 for those embarrassing games last season.

^ hahah i think we need to do something about the word 'much' cuz if u just neglect it and let TLPD do everything it looks sorta retarded >_>
and yea.. hope xellos makes it through >_<

Yeah, I made a comment about the much thing in the website feedback thread for tlpd.
I think everybody's watching Xellos and 910 (the guy nobody seemed to think deserved the seed from getting to Ro8) the most carefully, yeah.

hah, fixed the much invasion.

910 placed in a subpar group again
|
I wouldn't really call 910 subpar. Hasn't had much chance to prove himself solo yet, and he did make it fairly far last year before getting beaten by Stork (which isn't exactly embarrassing).
Granted, not against the stiffest of competition but I suppose that isn't exactly his fault. He did pick to be in Hwasin's group before the merry go round that is MSL group selection, so you can't really blame him.

I think it's completely bullshit that the map distribution / order varies from group to group
|
this should be group G, not group B.
I was like, "Where's Stork then?"
|
Ack, a TvT group. I suppose 910 will make it through.
|
Oh yay, Terrans across the board.
|
I expect Hery to go 0-2 here. He lost like every one of his starleague games from what i remember.
Anyway gogo Xellos !

Why is this Haji? I always quite like it that the map order chages around. Since the maps are "supposed" to be balanced it shouldn't make too much of a difference. It's especially strange that you mention it in a tvt only group, where it doesn't make a difference. So why do you hate it?

He's never played in a Starleague. He has lost most of his survivor/dual challenge games though (i think were stats are 9-1 before this season, where he went through 2-0).
And yes, this is group G, not group B. Just like last season they are not playing the groups in order.

I'm trying to watch on Gom TV but I'm getting like.. music videos when I follow the links... (And it definetly says MSL season 3 9/15 18:30) Am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Ah, sorry just found out it was filler.
Enjoying!

I have no idea, I left it on the MBC TVAnts link from yaoyuan.com and ended up watching a fun PvP matchup. Not sure who was playing though, was laying down in my bed
Edit--
Seems the link i'm on is the right one, anyways back to my bed for some comfy full screen Terran on Terran crime.
