They should've invited more players, at least twice as many for such a huge prize pool Skill gap between players was to big - it was like Movie/Beast ----> Fengzi/Scan/Jaystar ------------> rest You have to think about this from a different perspective. With this amount of money (and paid flights and hotels too), without a stretch, they could have invited anyone they wanted. The point is (practically free trip and free money), this is still mostly a Chinese tournament, despite the name suggesting otherwise. The sponsor and the fans did not want to just hand money over to Korean players who just play on different planes. They could get high level players for free via SRT, SSL etc. The point of this tournament was to have Chinese players compete against Korean players in not-so-onesided fashions. Most people in China really like Movie and Beast because in their past exhibition matches, they tried to make the games interesting, and would (in my opinion) frequently play odd and unorthodox strategies so that the Chinese players actually have a decent shot at winning. I don't think they ever played a series in the past where they ended up X-0'd the opponent, when everyone knows they very well could have, with ease. This is perceived as friendly and polite in Asian cultures, and very well received. Having said all of that, the sponsor did say he was willing to financially sponsor online Korean only exhibition matches with prizes exceeding Sonic's means, but they have problems of getting Chinese observers into the game without lag.

I think Sonic and the Chinese sponsors should partner up and so the Chinese can sponsor SSL and fly those StarGirls/Caster in Korea.

According to one of the Chinese posts earlier in the thread, Sonic really wanted the Chinese sponsor to not let Savior play, but the Chinese sponsor really likes Savior, so he ended up playing. Sonic said he will not let Chinese players play in future SOSPAs (this might be a rumour, so correct me if I'm wrong), so I think relations between Chinese and Sonic aren't exactly great at the moment.

No. I watched the finals at home. I didn't want to go there and ruin the party by kicking Savior in the balls.

In China, beside this match, there are also many other matches. One followed one, we have live telecast to see almost every day. The most regretful things is, sometimes these matches interfer with each other, we have to choose one of them to watch. The match are mostly sponsored by some young rich guys who loves BW. Next Tuesday, the 3rd COSL 2v2 match will begin. 32 to 16. Champion win 50K RMB, about $8K. There are also some Korea players in it. If you can read chinese. You can hit link: http://bbs.scntv.com/thread-79933-1-2.html. Maybe you had ever heard of some ids. At least you should probably know Movie. 1v1: Movie, Jatgirl, Fengzi, Scan 2v2: Savior+334, Jatgirl+pic, Fengzi+Scan, FengG-G+Money.

Really hope they'll continue organising tournaments like this. Also, I've become a Fengzi now, he seems like a pretty cool guy on stage. And Surely I can't be the only one thinking this? + Show Spoiler + she reminded me of tossgirl
