In the past week(s) I had a lot of free time and used it to sum up a bit of foreign BW after Beta. It's been quite a few pages, so be warned if you're interested, it might take you a few hours to read through the stuff.
Short Summary
Part I: Reconstruction
For the first part I tried to sum up the situation shortly after Beta and what we kind of lost. Following were profiles about Yoda and Game and the initial tournaments on Defiler and Teamliquid. This took some pages in Word (Open Office to be exact), so might want to skim them if you already know. Afterwards I did try to introduce the best players and the era of dominance by Sziky, Heme and Scan. The first part ends with ISL 2's finale, more or less and a short profile of the 'new' clans.
Part II: Expanding
The second part starts with a profile of Eywa and his Nation Wars & Gambit Cup, but also describes a bit what was happening elsewhere; namely Russia (LANs), UEDGaming and the GosuCup. The main part is all about the games between Michael and Pro7ect. The time frame of this article would be between summer 2011 and end of 2011.
Part III: Up and Down
Things covered in the third article: ISL 3, Gambit Cup Season 3 First Half, 'Russian Drama', RU KOTH, Zerg dominance of eOn, TechnicS, trutaCz, the SBWI and has interviews with Largo & Javlaeterran
Part VI: Up and Down
Part IV is a bit weird, it basically has a bit about the rest of GC Season 3, TLS and ABC from TL.net and the BSL in it. However, I did write a bit about upcoming projects I know of or have heard of (ICC, SBWI, DRTL, Russia), added some sort of Top 10 (yes, very subjective and biased), graphics (timeline, Defiler Stats), Random Defiler Trivia and a few polls, so I know what readers would like to see next.
Bias
Obviously, my reputation should be on an all-time low, but regardless; I tried to keep it neutral, even though most of it is how it happened from my perspective. Sources are at the end of Part IV, as well as links to all my statements - hopefully you click through them and make up your own mind. Also, thanks to Celetuiw (Cele around here?) to check twice a least for the first two parts and reminding me whenever I overdid it.

Pretty amazing read. Thank you again

Now I finally know what all this Scan business is about! You weren't kidding when you said WoT, not that it is bad or anything.

i already read all of those on your blogsite, as you know. Still, this is pretty amazing. Wrapping up foreign history after sc2 beta in that much detail must have been tons of work.

Wow. Very nice!!
Looking forward to reading all of this.

This is amazing! I've only read a bit so far and it's so detailed. I love it! Great blog!

I like how whenever someone writes something with a lot of words, and it's related to StarCraft, people are like "THIS IS AWESOME, GREAT WORK... I'll read it later."
Edit: I read most of it. To be honest, if I tried to write something like this, I would be way more biased.

Eywa didn't sponsor GT, sneazel and I talked about it before hand. I brought all the north american players (flip andrey michael draw), he brought all the polish players(sneazel trutacz southpark zergling). Sneazel paid all the entrance fee.

crazy man. this is basically a whole book about broodwar post 2010. just finished reading part one, it was very interesting. I quit bw 2011 and it's really nice to get an overview about what happened in the last years.

No, it's not possible to remember everything at all times. Even the very strongest Americans make mistakes:

It wasn't about the mistake, these things happen even if you read up on events. Eywa's stuff was horribly archived. I meant that I start to understand why people give up soon, or say they read later on, but never get to read ALL of it. It did take me ten minutes to find the paragraph and thirty more to find all other references to the initial mistake. I also skimmed about the articles before writing this thread and that alone took me 15 minutes. Then again I hate the idea of leaving things out (which I did a lot though, see CRTL, rD Tour, Defi Show Matches, BBulsori, China entirely, [...]), so I guess there's no way around it.
Anyhow, I'd be grateful about any kind of feedback. So far all I got was something like "he wasn't kidding, gave up after reading one third" or something. Since I'll try to write future articles about the past, it'd be nice to know if people need all kinds of context (e.g. first 2-3 pages about the pre-Beta scene). The thing I'm currently writing (guess about what Epixodu) starts around 2003 - no idea what people still remember if they remember shit at all.
GM did mention a few tips already for the German version, mostly saying the time line was confusing at times, the switch between clear names and nicks was hard to understand and that i'd need flags. I don't have them yet and I tried to dodge that, because of extra work with shitty interface, but I could add them later on.
