Yeah, whatever. Mocsta should get a strong ban. "Getting modkilled so town doesn't mislynch" is exactly defined as cheating in the OP. it doesn't matter that he claims to not have known about it, it's in the op of literally every game and is a core part of the rules.

But should we have left all the nullish lurkers just live peacefully then? Lord KP on them seemed like a good idea. And still seems, to some extent. In terms of the overall state of Mafia on this forum, (in theory) killing lurkers is negative reinforcement for that behaviour, which (again in theory) will improve activity in other games in the future. So in that sense using KP on lurkers/thread-shitting players is a good idea. In terms of winning this game individually was it a good idea?... I have no idea, didn't read the game. If you get left with mostly/only lurkers lategame you will not have a good time though. Some games are just doomed by the allocation of players. (No idea if that was the case here, once again I haven't actually read it.) I think the forum could maybe do with more routine, standard normal minis to reinforce the principles of decent active play. Crazy themes may be fun (no experience with such so I couldn't say) but I don't know that they do much for the standard of play. This is all IMHO and of course YMMV.

I would have to agree with this. If someone was modkilled for inactivity they couldn't argue that they didn't know they had to vote because they didn't read the OP. The OP says it's cheating he should get a ban.

Like, sharrant and solstice felt like lurkers this game, but were they? I dunno. Kush felt like a lurker too... Like, I feel like I use the term lurker for "not really active anti-town" I believe there are players who can have 1-2 pages of filter a day and be extremely pro-town, and I wouldn't consider those lurkers. But anyway, it's annoying. I guess people get different things out of mafia than me when they sign up. I kinda wanna suggest that some hosts not allow people who have the tendency to lurk but that just seems a bit elitist and arbitrary.

In reference to the last one, if I hosted a game and only let people in who I had a great deal of confidence in to play a decent game it probably wouldn't fill for a very long time, if ever. EDIT: That being said it has been done before (Smurf Mini Mafia, and probably others further back too)

If I ever hosted a mini, I would do this. How would you define a lurker in that case marv? Incredibly arbitrarily based on my own opinions. I'm aware it might cause some offence, but meh. The thing I like / have the most respect for in mafia is simply people who try their best to win. Lurking/fucking around is not doing that.

A 13 player or 15 player games like that would be cool though. Could always host a game and say "just /in even if you're in a game or waiting for one to start, we'll figure out a date to start when full, preferably when none of the players are in an ongoing game"

With the state of the forum right now though...something that makes signups slower is gonna be excruciating in its own right. Clarity..I told you in a PM and ill tell you again. Lots of eurozone folks in this game made it really difficult to be involved in thread discussion. The thread was most active during business hours over here. I felt like a lurker to you because we rarely were posting at the same time. When I got back and had time to play there usually wasn't anyone around that really would have helped to talk to.

I realize that, but some piece of analysis that you put in thread won't be ignored because it was posted when we weren't around. You were basically a vet with your 11 hp, seems like a waste to only post when others are around and therefore not post much at all. I'm not saying have a conversation with yourself and post 6x in a row, but a concise post with your thoughts of people and the goings on would have made things a bit better for town. For Sharrant it's the same story, he's basically a nearly confirmed town but he doesn't abuse it in thread.

Nope, just that this game was harder to be tapped into than a typical game around here due to most of the thread development happening when I couldn't post. Your problem with me wasn't that my viewpoint on things wasn't unclear, just that I wasn't around enough from your point of view. What difference would it really have made for me to make a summation post every time I got to the thread and found it slow? Ideas and reads are great, but being right means nothing if you can't push them all the way home. You need to be in the thread with the other active people to align your thinking.

But you're right, part of it is me being a bit irrational because it FEELS like you weren't around at all during this game.
