So that austinmcc & Tofu exchange on page 60 was genuine town!? I'm shocked. Will have to take note that Tofu listens to austin and practically nobody else. Those day 3 plays. After that, I still like Tofu & Vivax for scum pair even though I know it's JJD & Onegu. JarJar had this really weird switch from jrkirby to Corazon at the end of Day 3 that raised some flags for me, but I went with the main read.

@Cora Don't investigate yourself. @Vivax Was coming around to your day 4 play, but you were natural ally to Tofu.

Tofu, I still don't get how you could have known claiming 3rd cop in this game would have made sense. I feel like you had to have had some outside info to have known that. I agree that the setup was scum favored but I think we used it to our advantage pretty well. We had a bad early game but a good late game. I think the biggest mistake of the town was allowing the cora lynch. I was super nervous about making that switch and you can see in the QT that me and onegu were all panicky around that time. No clue about the drH thing. I'm not even sure why he quit. Cora should have gotten back town on himself or have been not allowed to check himself and gotten back a check on oats. I think a cooler setup would have been 3 legit cops and 2 framers (or something similiar). Thanks hosts for running.

With how much JJD was pushing behind you instead of pushing for his own reasons should've been a good tell. C'mon man. I know geript from outside of TL but I had no clue untill this game. I always knew he played here but I didn't know what his screen name was. So he dropped clues that I probably would have picked up on if I was really reading the thread thoroughly. So he figured if I was town I would have been paying more attention (which might be true IDK). But he never gave those reasons out to the town and was killed before he could say anything about it. He eventually "came out" by using my real name. On July 26 2013 11:52 getmoript wrote: Look Jarad. I know you haven't been reading my filter. Here's why: Hell. I've said a few times that I have hella meta read on you and you had 0 clue. Like you easily should've known and that would tell you both that I'm town by how I've played and by who I am. On top of that, both my amount and type of activity should've been a huge hint.

He then abruptly switched it, and the problem is because it was solely meta I essentially had to try and trust him on it.

(1) I don't think the setup was imba. We had a 3 man scum team, a scum vigi instead of a 3P source of KP or something, and a very, very strong town team imo. I actually really think that having a hydra, let alone two, town-side, balances out any possible imbalance because we've essentially got bonus townies AND space to discuss things where scum can't see them. (2) Cora, you got a wonky result. I wish you'd either checked with hosts as to what was going on OR posted something specific to thread about your PM. The result you got was wrong, but could have been corrected.

If someone says they can't really post, are away from thread, due to a death in the family, and they're not a giant asshat, that means...you just take them at their word? Or does it actually make them town? I was really worried that saying anything specific about why I needed to be gone would end in me being town, and so felt like I had to err on the side of replacing rather than possibly getting super duper townie points for something outside of the game.

Some other mafia forum?

In this case, jrkirby wasn't around much D1, and I wanted to try and get him into thread and talking a little. Accusing someone of never being around, or asking them really pointed questions, doesn't always accomplish that. I'd rather ease into it with a dumb question that also gets him reading someone and giving out a read, then maybe work from there. This game needs more 'psychotrick' questions. Hello, I think you're mafia, please fill out this questionnaire, that sort.

Apparently, if you know someone is red, you're NOT supposed to buddy up to them and try to get them to reveal stuff. Who'dathunk? But yeah, a little more slow-rolling would be nice. I just never have the patience to put something like that together.

Marv is the expert, but essentially it started in Basterd when I had to prove myself 3P by sort-of talking about host PMs. Marv figured it would be a really douchey thing to do to lie about it, hence dick-move analysis.

Obviously, the claim only furthers that goal. Hindsight is 20/20. In order to evaluate my actions fairly, you have to put yourself in my shoes. This was one of the worst plays ever. You fakeclaimed DT to get my strongest townread lynched. Thanks for that babe. This is why you don't pull really really stupid shit even when you're sure about something, because you could be wrong. Just don't do it! My 2nd to last post before I died I commented that Onegu had said the scummiest thing I'd seen in the thread, and commented again in my last post that I had become much more suspicious of him. Only fellow scummer JJD even bothered commenting on it. Just sad for me that I also found kirby and austin/Vivax suspicious as well. Tangeng and Firm were too genuine to be mafia. Most of all I wish I'd had more time to devote in the 3 or so (real time) days leading up to my/VE's death. Corazon lynch was a genuine travesty. That's where the game was lost. kirby getting lynched and flipping as town would still have been a significant benefit to the town, in that it removes a potential suspect, of which Corazon shouldn't have been one by the time he was lynched. edit: On August 01 2013 00:11 WaveofShadow wrote: Marv is the expert, but essentially it started in Basterd when I had to prove myself 3P by sort-of talking about host PMs. Marv figured it would be a really douchey thing to do to lie about it, hence dick-move analysis. No austin, because all those things you describe are valid from town or mafia. I very rarely treat someone as town for an inactivity excuse, it's just something to factor in to your read on someone, imo

Once Corazon missed "You, as a Detective, have special equipment to discover the dubious loyalty of other citizens. " in the PM, near as I can tell asking questions didn't get answers. BTW Phagga <3, trying to help / achieve clarity. + Show Spoiler + shit happens, it didn't happen to me. At most I am evaluating how to decide which game I can sign up for that I am most likely to have enjoyed when it all over. I like playing the game of mafia hard. (but against players) I like to think the host is there to facilitate that and that I don't have to read the OP and PMs like they're fine print legal documents written by adversary lawyers. If I have to operate on the belief that if I miss the implication of single word in my pm then even if I ask a direct question as Cora did, then I wont even get an indirect answer... then I would characterize my relationship to the hosts as adversarial as I need to read their documents with the same care I read legal contracts that I sign that have scads of fine print. This starts to feel like recipe for bad. There is probably no real question here. The ones above are probably rhetorical. And thus nothing to respond to. Normally I regard post game a space for players to decompress and leave the last of the in the game here. Hence I mind my own beeswax. This time is different.
