Day 1
The Doctor didn't remember how he got here. It was pitch black save for the flashlight in his hands and what he could only assume were flashlights in the hands of others. "Amy!" he called out. He heard her voice, but couldn't make out what she said or what direction it came from. Her voice seemed to be coming from all around him. The acoustics in this room were unnatural...
He reached for his trusty sonic screwdriver and it felt comfortable in his hands. + Show Spoiler [play this now, then keep reading] + He heard that familiar sound as he scanned his surroundings. With a flick of the wrist he looked at the results. This is not good he thought. He scanned again, longer this time, to be sure. This is very not good. One last time he checked his surroundings, knowing that nothing would change, but not caring because he was doing this for the catharsis it would provide that allowed his mind to race and dance and leap and fly and AH HA. He straightened his bowtie and now knew what he must do.
Amy looked around with her flashlight and counted eleven other beams of light. She heard the Doctor call her name, but couldn't figure out where his voice was coming from. "I'm over here, Doctor!" She didn't hear a response. "Rory," she hissed. She heard no response from her husband. "Rory." Still no response. "Rory!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. It was then she saw him in a window elevated above her. He was illuminated in the dimmest of lights peering into the room she was in, trying to make out what was happening below with the slivers of light cutting through the darkness. She knew he was looking for her. Elated she began to make her way toward him.
When she glanced back up to him, her heart caught in her throat. Her worst nightmare had come true. A Weeping Angel was standing behind him and he had no clue. Its mouth was locked open in a silent scream with its arms reaching for him but falling just a few inches short. + Show Spoiler + Amy screamed at the top of her lungs and began moving towards him careful to keep her eyes locked on the Angel. “Don't blink. Whatever you do, don't blink.” She kept on repeating that to herself as she crept closer and closer to her husband who was still oblivious to the fate that might befall him only inches away. As her eyes began to tire, she started to alternately wink them while still focusing on the Angel. She knew she was closer, but was still so far away. Frustrated, she picked up her pace while still winking at this creature who wanted to take her husband from her. Faster and faster she went. She was almost there. She could see the face of the man she fell in love with wrinkled in worry, still peering into the darkness looking for the faintest glimpse of her.
Her eyes were straining to remain focused on the Angel even with the breaks she was giving them one at a time. It was then, with her distracted for a moment by the discomfort of her eyes, that she tripped over her own clumsy feet, which caused her to stop looking at the Angel for only a split second. But that was enough time for the Angel. Amy quickly looked back to the window, but instead of her husband's face, she saw the face of an Angel. It was not weeping but was what could only be described as smiling as it stared directly at her in the dark with knowing eyes that pierced into her soul because they knew what had just transpired. + Show Spoiler +
"ROOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It is now Day 1. The lynch will happen in at 20:00 GMT (+00:00). With 12 alive it takes 7 to lynch. Remember to send in all actions to both hosts by the lynch.

I'm excited. Just had a browse at the playerlist and I'm not sure who's going to volunteer to figure out all the mechanics and clever stuff for me.
Any volunteers?
|
Why don't you figure them out yourself?

I've never been Mr Mechanics, I prefer to leave that to others. I like playing with them, I just like to know the framework, for which others are useful ^^

do we always have to move at full movement speed?

townie points for that question ^
|
Any player may choose to shorten their movements

Well, basically we try to figure out who we are on the board. We are able to recognize weeping angels in the beam of light, so if we figure out who we are on the board and bring ourself into position to light up someone else, we can confirm that person.
The question is, will the game run long enough for this to be possible/usefull.
|
Also, Chatting inside of the Google doc is the same as violating the NO PM rule
|
wait, are we able to recognize weeping angels in the light?
|
Are townies able to recognize weeping angels if they point their flashlight at them?
Also, do I realize if someone else points his flashlight at me from an angle I'm not looking at?

good question, checked the OP and didn't see anything, maybe i missed it

can we move diagonally?

As far as I get it we can lynch players normally.
What I don't get is the board's role. How does it influence what happens to the players? Does an angel AND the player behind it simply die if he ends up in the flashlight of a townie?

players and angels seem to be entirely anonymous. I could have a gun and point my flashlight to an angel, but I would not know it unless I had knowledge of my own handle(the letter on the board).
Angels, on the other hand, have full knowledge of the board and what does it do.
That said, I'll claim that I will move four my full movement speed on day 1 in order to figure who I am. I will claim my MS after the movements are solved in order to not allow an angel to try to mimic my movements.
anyone agrees/disagrees with that?
Also BJ are together hueheu

Sounds like a decent plan, Zeph. It's one of the reasons I want to know if we can move diagonally, it would make unique movements much easier.
|
A weeping angel will be recognizable when a flashlight is shone on it. You will simply know its an angel, you will not know the name of the player controlling it.
You may not move diagonally
A player's view range is bigger than their flashlight range. You might consult one of the other tabs in the google doc.
|
You also have to factor in that multiple players could have the same MS. In the OP there's no mentioning of the angel's knowledge about other player's movement speed, cause if they don't know it, it might not be the smartest idea to claim it.
Do Angels know the players' movement speeds?
|
|
Meh.
It might not be the best idea to claim our movement speed to the whole thread. Angels will know when a player is possibly dangerous for them by knowing how far he can go to cross their path.
