It may sound weird but ret's been punishing any robo opening with swarm hosts throughout the tournament. But the stargate openers seemed tricky.

I don't believe you can do that reasonable even from 2base.

I don't have much experience with HotS yet but that's gonna change. The yoink ability seems really good against Collo, which I wish to see outside of just the obvious nasty timing pushes that are gonna pop around. I guess you missed me saying "if it still seems imbalanced in a month or two". I'm not QQing at all. I don't think that match indicated any sort of balance. YongHwa is far better than Ret. He would have 3-0'd him in WoL and no one will say PvZ there is Protoss favored.

But i mean ... roach hydra seems to be the staple of the midgame at the moment ... So compisitionally with roach/hydra/swarm host (possibly without the roaches) you can pressure a robo opening because when a protoss opens robo they have limited aggressive potential and have to play defensive (or all in) letting you position the swarm hosts to keep the protoss defensive (see ret's games from earlier in the tournament). However with a stargate opening the zerg is forced into being the defensive one because of the phoenixes. This limits the positioning and aggressive potential of swarm hosts and lets the protoss get the colossus/voidray/etc numbers up. So the protoss can build up more comfortaly. Additionally the phoenix opener forces hydralisks which requires the zerg have a way to protect the hydralisks in the big engagement when the zerg has stabalized from the harassment. The viper is a great tool for defending a hydralisk. Mainly the "yoink" ability to pull and kill off the colossus. Then the Blinding cloud letting the hydras engage better.
