Careful you don't overdo the hyperbole there...
I'm not, at all. Quite frankly I believe it to be the primary reason that foreign gaming in general consistently falls apart and at best is in the current state it is: It's treated like it's run by a bunch of fourteen year olds with no idea at all how an actual business works, and those people actually listen to the fourteen year olds on top of it. Except the more sad thing is the fourteen year olds are actually in their twenties, and theoretically working adults that just refuse to accept that how the rest of the world works and gaming can actually intermingle. There is no hyperbole, any attempt at anything being wrong or unacceptable is the end of the world and gaming as we know it coming to a clear end if it's tolerated and everyone should get away with anything they want, unless of course it's something the community decides needs to be publicly beheaded that day.

I guess EG can be proud to have the most famous hebephile in all of sc2 amongst their ranks! I hope Alicia, next time they play, asks "is it true you really fuck kids?"
What a fucking tosser

I think what EG did is correct. They had no other choice really. They got complaints from their sponsors and they took action. They are a professional organization and they have to act professionally.
What I think is rally stupid is the community's response to a simple comment. In reality, nothing happened. Words were said. It may have been a joke, it may have been misinterpreted. Even if something bad happened, there is no confirmation past a rumor.
Why hundreds of people would send emails to sponsors over this just blows my mind? What do they think that they are doing great justice of something? This reaction to simple things like this is an aweful characteristic of this society.

He vaguely said something about "abusing" a 14yo. He probably meant he just slept with her. We don't know what the details are so we cannot really say. IMO, it's not a big deal. At all. 14yo have sex all the time. I know from living in NA that everything that could possibly considered a sexual action is considered rape and everything that isn't perfectly politically correct is a hate crime. It's not.
Oh, we're just talking about a 19 yo potentially having sex with a 14 yo. No big deal. What fucking world do you live in? That's not really a huge fucking deal. Happens all the time. Oh, and I live in the same world as you.
I would be willing to bet there are many 19 year olds who have unwittingly had sex with a 14 year old girl. Girls lie about their age a lot. I've had to turf underage girls out of a pub on many occasions and know plenty of guys who have slept with girls who they later found out to be 14 or 15. Hell it almost happened to me, got told by a girls OLDER sister that her little sister was 16, then got my ass saved by a friend who's little brother went to school with her..... the girl was hot, she certainly looked over 16 and I was only 18... would it have been so wrong if I had taken her home from the nightclub and had sex with her? I'll never know, my friends take good care of me.
granted doing it knowingly is different, but age is just a number and age of consent varies as does maturity of girls at that age. One of my friends has a 13 year old daughter you would swear was about 18 both in looks and in the way she acts... needless to say, if I didn't know her and met her in a club, I probably wouldn't say no. Thankfully, I don't go clubbing anymore because I would probably end up in prison for not IDing a girl before taking her home.

Or when he realized Stephano may actually have been serious. I still don't see why people are writing it off as a joke, I don't get that vibe at all. I mean, I sure hope he was joking, but I really don't see how that could be taken as an attempt at a joke at all.

His face is being used out of context. If you watch the entire video, you see that he is laughing quite a bit. When he realizes that it's being broadcast, he has an "oh shit" moment. A single still that portrays him having a "shocked expression" doesn't tell the whole story.
