Complaints about moderation and freedom of speech are for the website feedback forums. They will be treated as being off topic and dealt with appropriately.
No more Iron Lady talk, no more gender debate. This is a thread about a StarCraft player. Last I checked what's in between your legs has no impact on how you play the game.
I agree with some of the comments here that the moderation on this thread has been dreadful. It's way too soft. I have gone ahead and simply deleted a bunch of comments that fail TL's community standards. Yes, those standards are determined by the mods. Yes, those standards are not perfect nor even uniformly applied. But we try our best. Spare us your righteous indignation over any notional impairment of free speech. This is a private site. It's a club. There is no "right" to free speech here. We only tolerate quality speech. By who's standards? Ours. Go read the TL Ten Commandments. And if you don't like this policy or our way of running our house, leave. - mensrea |

It's an awful post because it's terribly uninformed and disrespectful, which is also probably why he was banned. She didn't ENTER the iron lady tournament, she was bloody INVITED by the tournament organizers themselves which on top of that KNEW about her situation.
Jesus christ, some people...

Except you, as well as he, should do some research regarding the Iron Lady Tournament (as well as other sports in general)
1) To my knowledge the Iron Lady tournament was well aware of Scarlett's situation and still allowed her to compete. No rules were broken or tournament runner's mislead.
2) A similar situation happened recently with a track and field runner (At work so I can't do full research) but essentially after being DQ'd and splashed all over the media, the ruling was changed to allow it as long as the gender reassignment surgery has occured along with the continued hormonal therapy. Please someone correct me if I am wrong...but I will hopefully be able to edit this when I get home to add sources.

Grats Scarlett! Good luck to both you and Eclypsia.

And to be honest, it doesn't really matter 99% of the time
But then when you enter the Iron Lady tournament, the 1% pops up and asks the question. And in my opinion, fails the question from an anatomy standpoint.
In my world of mixed martial arts, a transgender would not get away with entering (and automatically winning) a WMMA contest. They would perform a simple epitestosterone level check, and the transgender would fail that test. I would imagine Scarlett failing a epitestosterone test as well.
I'm only bringing this up to point out that the second place finisher of the Iron Lady tournament is probably the true winner.
User was temp banned for this post. why is this guy got banned?did he insult any1 or there's no more freedom of speech in TL. such a shame 1) To my knowledge the Iron Lady tournament was well aware of Scarlett's situation and still allowed her to compete. First, she was invited, actually. See her reddit post.
Secondly, on topic -- grats to Scarlett! :-) I hope that the rumors about Eclypsia wanting to expand more into Korea are true and that she gets a good chance to improve and play with the best. She obviously has the talent and dedication, but the current Eclypsia roster seems a bit limited -- hopefully that will change soon.

She is the most overhyped player to ever enter the scene, but she is very skilled. Congratulations for doing so well, good luck in the future Scarlett!

She wants to be called "she". It would be nice of you to respect that

FYI freedom of speech does not apply to private property, only in public places. So people making that argument, just stop. This is a community funded and hosted by Teamliquid and only they can determine what is appropriate conversation.
Also, note to some other people/mods. Some langauges do not use different gender pronouns (Mandarin comes to mind) so someone calling Scarlett a he/him MAY not be trolling or disrespectful.
Gratz to Scarlett and I hope to see her streaming soon, maybe even on EU or KR!

Congrats Scarlett and good luck. =)

I was expecting a household name to pick her up, but Eclypsia made out like bandits with this scoop. Hope we see Scarlett on more tournament brackets.

They were. Scarlett has said she turned down objectively better offers because she felt most comfortable with this team. More power to her I say!
