That's not "almost every GSL" that's 50 % of it. EDIT: Also to be OT; Why do this now? Surely they know Assembly and MLG is coming up next weekend.. My bad. They won half of GSL.My point is Terran is not having that bad time as people are making it out to be. Terran are still doing fine. I think they releasing this patch before MLG/Assembly to test it on the pro level? We're talking about ladder here. Terrans on ladder are already struggling, and so they continue to make it tougher with all these nerfs. http://imgur.com/a/hQHYSAs you can clearly tell in the international scene as well as in Korea, Terran has never fallen below 50% against either of the other two races since release despite countless changes to balance, maps, metagame and player styles. Please dun tell me Terran is struggling .They are doing fine.Even with this change, I bet you the Korean terrans will adapt properly.Plus, we should balance the game at the highest level of skill and not on ladder. That was a post about ladder, not about the pro level. http://sc2ranks.com/stats/league/all/1/all(PS: I bet one of their proper adaptations will be an increase in 2base allins, which is one of the 3 things I currently have planned for my post patch play)
Sorry but i am confused. http://imgur.com/a/hQHYS Isn't this the statistics based high level tournament.

I guess the timing is not the best, but hasn´t this happened before? (Major?) Balance changes before some big event? Can somebody check on that please?

GL merz, hope your high APM can get you a good placing and a nice seed for MLG Columbus.

It is confirmed to be going through already.I think Blizzard want to test this patch on the pro level. That why they are releasing the patch just before MLG/Assembly. that doesnt make sense. if they wanted to test it on the pro level, they would give people time to prepare builds with the new patch before their games. people arent going to change their builds on the fly with a patch that came out the day before.

This was ages ago, but I'm pretty sure Zerg got a pretty big buff right before IdrA won MLG.

Thank you for the much needed laugh at 3:50 am and a poor ladder day. Meta-game, schemda-game, 24 hours is how much any pro needs to figure out a new patch that completely changes how a critical units works.
|
Why is everybody assuming the ghost nerf is going through like this? It is not like Blizzard had never changed things for the release of the patch.
|
The time may be bad for pros, but it's gonna be really interesting seeing how they deal with the changes in such a short notice. I want to see terrans try to go ghosts lategame and see what happens vs. broodlord/ultra and infestor.

TLO insta wins with Seeker Mis-
Oh wait he plays Zerg. ;;

smart teams will make custom maps that they can practice the new changes on. the disadvantage, however, is that if the changes dont go through, all their time is wasted. lol
|
They'll probably end up changing the patch date. Plus I thought they let MLG and other high tournaments pick what patch they want to play on for their tournament. Am I right or wrong on that?
|
I understand the patch being released 1 day before major tournaments (if that is even the correct time-frame anyways) does suck major donkey dick.
But, isn't the PTR open to everyone? Can't teams, practice partners, etc., get together on the PTR to get more than 1 day's worth of practice time? Or is that too far-fetched to think that way...-_-
|
To be fair, there's so many small and big tournaments going on all the time (GSL/NASL/ironSquid/Playhem/KSL/MLG qualifiers/IPL and many smaller ones) that there's never a good time for a new patch release. Sure it sucks for MLG and Assembly but it's not they can't take precautions against those balance changes (custom maps anyone?).
|
I'm starting to wonder if our generation completely lack reading comprehension... They are releasing the patch the 27th on SEA which has no consequences for Assembly/MLG. The patch will hit NA/Europe on Tuesday/Wednesday several days before the tournaments start.
|
And why would they care about some tournaments? We got big tournament every weekend or 2 so that reason to delay patch is invalid.
|
MLG could make pre-patch custom maps for every map and have the players play on those
undermine blizzard's terrible decision!

They don't have the balls to do that.
