I'm bored tonight and need something to watch.
What I've already seen:
Oldboy A Bittersweet Life Radio Star Memories of Murder Friend Tae Guk Gi
So go ahead and recommend me some good Korean films. Also recommend other good foreign films too or just anything good.
EDIT: By the way, no romance films.

Joint Security Area wasn't bad, but I haven't seen the whole thing. Only about a half.
According to wiki it's the highest grossing film in korean history, so shouldn't be too awful.

I highly, highly recommend Taegukgi Hwinallimyo or Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War. The best Korean film I've ever seen. It's a story about war and brotherhood.
You'll understand the heroism and sorrow of the Korean war, and the futility and anger for the scar across Korea, the 38th parallel... and you will cry.

Forgot to mention that I've already seen it. Thanks though.

200 Pounds Beauty is really popular. While it's not exactly romance, if you don't like "simple, feel-good" plots, watch another film.

Saw Silmido a while back, not bad.
|
- Chaser - The Man from Nowhere - The Host - Mother - Thirst - I Saw The Devil
|
- Shiri - Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - Sympathy for Lady Vengeance - Voice of a Murderer - Public Enemy (2002)

yea jsa and 200 pound beauty were both pretty good. If i remember correctly jsa as the movie about guards on opposite sdes of the border . Very emotional movie !

JSA was really good!
I watched Glove on the plane ride to Korea and really liked it.

To your own and Enki's list, for priorities, add:
Castaway on the Moon Sympahty for Mr. Vengeance Moss The Good The Bad The Weird Children No Mercy for the Rude
... for the really good (or at least really entertaining, in two cases) ones.
If you find anything good, also do please post more, I'm desperately running out.

Well, it does have a romance in it, although it's kinda in the backseat to the overall theme of the movie. It's really good though.
Oh yeah, and add Save the Green Planet! to that list as well. It's a blend of many different genres, but really great.

The Man from Nowhere/Ajusshi was really good. I just saw it the other day. It even sucked in my parents.
If you like horror movies "Confessions" was really great (it's Japanese though!)

Watch "Sympathy for Mr vengeance" the first of the oldboy triology.
It's less "hollywood" than oldboy so you might be less impressed, but I personally thought it was a better movie than oldboy, at least after the second viewing.
If you don't mind more slow-paced films, definitely look at Kim Ki duk's movies too. I would start with Spring summer fall, winter and spring first. Then, either 3-iron or samaria.
In a similar vein, but more accessible, I would also recommend Lee chandong's Peppermint Candy, Oasis, and secret sunshine. All are very solid movies.
Needless to say, none of these are romance movies.

Ok, just saw no romance, although it's not bog standard
For other foreign films, Departures is very good too
