The foreign BW scene was small, and chalk-full of eccentric members who complained enough, and eventually got a few pro-spoiler alert people into admin positions @ tl.net, and that's why it became the way it is now. The problem though, is that they're using that model and fitting it to the new SC2 focused tl.net that's infused with a lot more people who DON'T want spoiler tags. It's like forcing kids in today's society to be in a school with a 1940's curriculum/attitude/model. Well what I feel is: Either you make TL Spoiler free by having it spoiler free or you post all the results in all the news and forum threads. The problem then is that TL would look like reddit. "MMA WON Blizzcon invitational", EPIC FINAL that MMA WON, DISCUSS IT HERE Another thing you could do is that when you make a thread you select if it contains spoilers. If you select that it contains spoilers then people who have selected not to see "spoiler threads" can't see your thread. I have no idea if it's hard or not to implement this feature but I think it would solve it. A lot of people, including myself browse through TL at work / school or w/e, they check TL at times when they can't view the VoDs. And yes I understand what you are saying and I agree but I feel that it can't be midway. Sometimes there's spoilers but most likely you will be safe so that's what I feel. Normally you dont get spoiled at TL and that is why it sucks when you do. I personally have a GOMTV subscribtion and all I do is watch the Vods. Often the same day and it sucks when you know the result beforehand

Do you go to a soccer news site expecting them to not show the latest results? So they should cover up their whole page or not update at all so people who are looking for the latest news have to look really hard to find it? Is it so difficult to just avoid TL and go straight to gomtv to just watch the freaking set? I find this whole uproar about this a joke.

No, they dont. TL have decided to keep it spoiler free. The easiest thing is just to avoid all spoilers in the headlines. Sometimes you see spoilers written by people but if I for instance browse through the Sc2 General forum I dont want to get spoiled, if I read through threads that can contain info about a recent tournament win then I'm atleast aware of the possiblity of spoilers Again, the best way would just to have a feature that allows people to select if the thread that they are making contains spoilers. Then people have an option to hide all the threads that people have selected as "SPOILER CONTAINING" Then the people who like to browse through the forum without spoilers can select that they dont want show threads that contains spoilers. Then when they have watched the final then they can unselect this feature and happily discuss the recent event winner or w/e

It's the old BW TLPD that's showing MKP as toss as he played it in BW On December 18 2011 13:05 poorcloud wrote: I find this spoiler fear ridiculous. TL is a news + community page at the same time. Some people might be at work / school, a place were they can't watch it but they have some down-time to just browse through the internet. Also TL themself are trying to avoid spoiling result, they are saying that we're not going to spoil results for you. Therefor you might expect the whole page to be like that. Most of the times you can check through TL without spoilers just that when you do get spoiled. it hurts so bad, especially when the final was this epic!

For a more accurate worldwide money ranking, try this: http://www.sc2earnings.com It's astonishing when one looks at that site and realizes there's only 8 players that have made a 'decent' living the past 2 years. As for the rest of the SC2 players, without teams/sponsors, no idea how they'd get by. In particular this applies to Korean players, since everything is terribly more expensive in Korea than in the US (by in the US, I mean southern Californian metropolises, one of the most expensive regions in the country), ESPECIALLY in the big cities (eg. Seoul). If they didn't have 10+ guys living in a flat with major sponsorships backing them, they wouldn't be sitting too pretty, to say the least .

I'm going to talk about football sites for example. Just go to soccernet, com, you see the latest results splashed all over the front page with big images. I sure as hell don't see all their headlines containing 0 spoilers. This is ridiculous because everybody has their own catch-up rate to catch the vods. So what if this guy takes 3 days to watch the vods, do we continue to spoiler everything for him? Do we continue to make it seem like an entitlement to these people when honestly imo, it should be more of a privilege. Perhaps there should be a cut-off time, or like you said, the spoilers option. However, all these are really added administrative hassles which can be avoided if this community was not so anal about spoilers all the time.

Also, unless you're keeping very close track of MMA's winnings, 2nd place was possibly enough for him to exceed $100k. How do you know for sure that you were spoiled? Oh, you clicked on the tread like an idiot. Good job. THIS! When I want to watch a GSL match and I don't want to be spoiled... I don't get on a Starcraft site lol. Of course this is what everyone will be talking about. MMA is a great player. I can't wait to base some plays off of his incredible game style.

I'm talking about TL deciding not to have spoilers in their news headlines. Therefor the people behind TL have decided that we are not going to spoil the recent results for you. Also TL have been a spoiler free enviroment and my problem is that TL have decided to not have spoilers but sometimes, not all the time, you get spoiled. So it's midwayish. You dont get most of the recent result spoiled but 1/10 times (just a random estimation) you do and I find that a bit odd, if TL would gladly have spoilers in their headlines and post news like : "MMA won blizzard cup 2011" then people know that you should not visit TL cause they are posting all the results in the headlines but now TL is hiding spoilers and most of the community members are too, but 1/10 times (just a random estimation) you get spoiled from threads like this one. And to answer your question about time then as you may know, the TL webpage does not post the result in the headlines and most of the forum threads do the same. This thread could be named: The $100,000 GSL Tour Prize Income Club and it would all be fine. If people clicked and read the thread they could have said in the start. This thread may or may not contain recent GSL spoilers. And about the time issue, it would get solved if you do it like this cause then people visit certain forum threads knowing that it can contain spoilers

We should see to rectifying this. Yes, it is very unclear as TL is not spoiling in the news so I feel that the norm is not to spoil but there is no clear rule regarding the issue so it would be awesome if you brought that up! Also you can rename the headline to : The $100,000 GSL Tour Prize Income Club and it would solve most of the problem. It is a small change that matters so much for some people, including myself sometimes!

Especially since in the "Spoiler fear killing esports thread" there is an overwhelming vote to have TL display major tournament results on the front page.
