RAAAAGGEEEE. Bad car luck.
This happened to my friend a few weeks ago near his dorm. WE'RE ALL SO UNLUCKY LATELY WAH!

Well, I managed to get it to pop out some.... IN any case I"m getting it painted at a bodyshop in a couple weeks cause the paint is peeling off. Hopefully I can get them to fix that for cheap tt.

Ah shit, that might have been me. D:

Any coworkers get angry at you recently?

Nah, but seriously, not that many people know who drives what in the office. We've got like 130+ people now! And I barely know my new department :<

Does your work parking garage have cameras? I hope they do and find that asshole who did this.

thankfully nobody was hurt in my car.
I was going to come into this thread saying you think you have it bad with that little dent? lol, was absolutely ridiculous though, thats why i hate highways on the east coast they're all poorly lit as all hell compared to california. Wouldn't have been able to tell the make model color license plate anything about that car that hit us...fuck

somebody stole my faceplate stereo today, my ipod 2nd generation... and a necklace... you are not alone

That area is pretty lit up, I think it's more "holy shit we just got rear ended at 70 mph" than "Where's that fucker!" takes over your brain and messes you up.
Last time I got rear ended the whole van crumpled up like a soda can...I dont think I have any pictures from it but holy sheet it was bad. Stopped at a stoplight and someone dropped their phone and went to pick it up and gg back end of my truck, 50+mph into the back of a stopped car.
Worst part was the lady gets out of the van and comes up to us and she's like "omg I hit you" and we're like "woman you have two kids in your car, are they okay??" and she says "OH SHIT THE KIDS" and goes running back to her van.
-_-
Long story short, 80% of people on the roads in any part of the world are assclowns. I've had three hit and runs on the Firebird and I've only had it for about 4 years now. :/

I just had this happen three weeks ago, oddly enough he only took my Ipod, but didn't bother with my brand new head unit (which isn't even screwed in at this point in time...bracket broke in my car, lawl.)

that sucks, all i can say is, defensive driving ftw, while i disregard the speed limit 99% of the time im driving (gotta leave the loophole for when there's a cop behind me -_-) i still have yet to be in a real accident (getting a minor crack and a few scratches on the rear bumper doesn't concern me at all, esp since it isnt even visible :D) generally people need to learn how to drive, but they wont so just try your best to do their driving for them, that is to say stay the fuck away from people xD
im more comfortable going sideways at 80mph on a back road where there arent other cars there, than i am going 60-70mph in a straight line on a highway where there are tons of people around -_-
its a shame that that happened to you, and it could happen to any of us, i know the pains of insurance prices and gas prices adding up, its a terrible time to be a driver on american roads (though to be fair gas prices seem to be going up in quite a few locations) also, i hope that you can get out of this without losing all of your money because some idiot never learned how to drive

Thats one sweet ride.. If you ever want to give away your car because of the damage contact me :3

Lol thanks :D I have about another year to pay her off. This is the second accident I've been in. :\ Last year, I got hit by a moving van. Tore up the entire driver's rear rim and fender. Bumper was falling off. Total cost to repair was around $5,000--but the guy who hit me had to cover it. D: SO UNLUCKY BAHHHH Holy shit the moving van truck is the exact same story for mine. It tore my quarter panel, and I had to hold the bumper up with chicken wire. I feel your pain, but mine was a hit and run. Not trying to still the blog just wanted to let you know I feel you.

Of course my car was really cheap compared to yours even if it was all my money so I only had third party fire and theft which didn't cover a small but visually significant dent and I had to pay myself. By the look of your car I'm sure you're well off enough to have the proper insurance to cover for this. You do say in the OP that you have to pay for it you're self though. How come is insurance different in the US? Or is it because the other car drove off it gets complicated? So my insurance is bundled with my parents, so if I report the claim, my insurance rate will increase. I believe my parents' insurance will increase as well. I believe I have a $500 deductible though; so even if I do file a claim, I'm probably only going to save like $200 or something. I don't want my rates to go up though, so if it's under like $1k, I'm ok with paying it out of pocket. I had a similar thing happen to me one year ago... someone dented my front bumper while it was parked and drove off. There was no damage to the side of the car, but there was apparently a bit of damage under the bumper as well.
The job cost like 1300 dollars. I reported it with a 500 dollar deductible. My insurance told me my rates wouldn't go up since it was parked when the damage occurred and I don't have any type of a history of this happening.
If you are going for a 100% repair it's going to be at least as expensive as mine was.

i dont know what you do for living but what ever it is i want to do it too....want...that....car....
are there some videotapes? usually in parking buildings you have videocameras.

Sorry about your car dude! The crazy ass thing is that I was hit on Halloween like 3 years ago when I was still in high school. The guy rear-ended me, but it really didn't do anything at all except leave a little plastic scuff on the back of my car, so I let him off the hook.
|
Don't worry, as soon as I get back from work I will find whatever asshole did this and personally castrate him with a fork.
Then I will spoon-feed them to him. And then I'll put a dent in his car! Hah! Gonna teach him!
+ Show Spoiler +No seriously sorry about your car
|
This is why you shouldn't own nice things. Get a shitty car and you won't even notice the new dents.

Seems like a brag blog to me. Sweet car, next time get something older and you won't notice anything. :o

I guess that makes sense. Really sucks, I'm sorry for you. That looks expensive. Its the paint work that ends up costing more than fixing the damage on nice cars.

Your advice isn't very helpful though... not sure how serious you are... Even if you get an older car you still don't want it all dented in....

Yeah it was annoying to see on facebook people saying WOW YOU SHOULD HAVE CHASED HIM DOWN, as if after having the back of your head ram against the headrest of your car your first reaction is LETS CHASE THAT FUCKER when we don't even know if the car is in a condition to be accelerating or for that matter, even maintaining 50 mph. There was no chance of chasing anyone.
