No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is.
Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers. |

As soon as I looked at that on EQD this morning I was like well I'm sure somebody has posted this already on the TL thread Awesome! I can't wait to see ponies everywhere!

I wonder whether or not that ad was just random. It's amazing regardless. But if it was intended, then I guess Hasbro has realised that soon enough eSports will equal ponies (also they might've even seen this thread before!), especially now that TLO is also a brony, and not to mention the upcoming Operation Flutter[9].
Also to be fair, someponies from the Starcraft community were more or less actually among the runner-ups as the pioneers for the brony community (with stuff like Ponycraft popping up rather early on).
Also nopony mentioned it yet, but we've passed 300k views yesterday for this thread. :D

Frankly the whole fan base that doesn't consist of children is depressing me and every time I see this post bumped I can't help but picture these painfully awkward people. I mean just try to have a conversation with a girl about how you like the show MLP and see what happens.

Well actually that would go a lot better than it would with a guy, hey? Let's see what sort of situation are we talking about here. A random person you just go up to talk to and say 'I LIKE PONIES!' wouldn't be any more weird than spouting out any other random nonsense. Talking about it with a girl that you truly feel and care for would likely be touched by the compassion, and relieved with your rejection of the gender roles that have been going on for much too long. Nobody- or perhaps quite few- is(are) going to try using MLP as a means to impress a potential partner you have only just discovered. Truthfully though going up to strangers and talking to them about it when tv shows or cartoons are brought up in the conversation is something I'd like to see done more often; because nobody is a stranger.

I mean just try to have a conversation with a girl about how you like the show MLP and see what happens. You are right, no one at a Sc2 meet up is even slightly awkward. I'd dig up photos from LANs, but frankly its not worth the effort. I've talked with girls about MLP, my ex is a pegasis, most girls find it adorable that you can be "oh so sensitive" and "secure in your manhood", and at the end of the day, if someone male or female is going to judge me for watching MLP, they aren't people who were really worth knowing anyway.
If you don't like it you don't have to post here. But why bother to post to tell us how the fact that we enjoy this show depresses you? If you had a coherent argument I'd happily discuss with you, but you seem to come in here to try to bait reactions.

She told me it is cute and awesome and that I should probably tell everyone. Also helps that she is a pega-sis as well, so I don't think this is the kind of stuff you are looking for heh
No, I probably won't be able to talk about it with those rich girls that go to rave parties every weekend looking to get drunk and party all the night under dubstep/funk/"Sertanejo"(a poor version of country) music and quite honestly I don't want to, because these kind of girls - and people like that in general - are frankly annoying.
Well, what can I say. From where I come, a gamer is as badly seen as a brony, I don't even think people make a difference between them. I mean, people don't even realize of the existence of the term "brony" because they don't even know about the MLP:FiM existence.
This is as bad as comic-fans and gamers were 10 years ago. Deal with it.

I've done that. Turns out she had seen a little bit of the show and liked it enough, but hadn't gotten any farther into than that. I showed her how much awesome stuff there is in the community and she loved it even more. She was just an acquaintance before, and now she's a great friend! Her friends know that I like ponies and they just think it's cute. (Not in a patronizing way or anything, by the way) Not so bad, I'd say.

I actually was referred to the show by a female friend and later converted two of my best female friends into full-fledged bronies. Is that the answer you were looking for?

Telling girls about ponies is actually ironically a really effective way to get a girlfriend.
I told two girls (too bad they aren't "girlfriend material" though :/ ) about it, and they thought it was really cute and brave of me to admit that I watch this show, and they even thought it was very heartwarming that I could get so passionate about it, then they ended up becoming bronies (or should I say pegasisters) afterwards so yeah. Ponies can easily impress girls (apart from the more arrogant kind of girls, but who would want an arrogant girlfriend anyway?).
Also I guess my future girlfriend will have to be as much into ponies as I am, otherwise she'll eventually "have enough of them". I wouldn't mind some mild teasing about it every once in a while, but it won't just be that, considering my obsession level.

This one girl I like hanging out with is studying art and animation.
Another chick I know is a full on fembrony, and is jealous of my shirts.
Then, before the weekend, I talked to yet another chick, and after a lengthy conversation about movies, books, and TV series on the whole, I brought up MLP, and because I'm not the socially awkward nutjob you apparently think we all are, I was able to properly express (using words in the English language) why I like this show and why it's simply good -- such as how it's a huge throwback to great animated stuff in the past like Looney Tunes and Animaniacs (and how you don't see those kinds of shows around any more), how the music and artwork flows and come together, how good the visual gags are, how good Lauren and her team are at creating compelling female characters (Powerpuff Girls, Foster's), and how it's simply a good example of excellence in artistic achievement and animation.
The next day, she texted me, "So, I may or may not have seen 20 episodes of MLP..."
The enthusiasm that a few of us have for this show, the creators, and the fandom is akin to Day[9]'s love for StarCraft and its community, and his whole story in the Daily #100 (which you should absolutely go see if you haven't already) builds up to the notion that the SC community is wonderful, is worth sticking up for, and worth being enthusiastic about, and it outlines the constant struggle to impart onto other people this understanding. What was the quote that he said? Always be aggressive about your fandom, because the second you stop being passionate is the second you stop talking about how awesome StarCraft is?
It's the exact same thing here, and while not all of us have the innate capability that Day[9] has in expressing themselves or imparting this passion and enthusiasm onto other people, it makes it no less genuine. We also understand that ponies, as is StarCraft, is not for everyone, but being enthusiastic about something we think is genuinely worth defending is not a negative quality, and we won't have you telling us otherwise.
So, in short, I think I'm good, thanks! We appreciate you stopping by. You should drop by the fan club section of TL next, and post about how awful some player is and how stupid his fans are for liking him. You know... to keep the streak going, as it were.

On an unrelated note, the synopsis for the episode 06 is out!

LOL this is going to be hilarious. My bet is that episode 7 is a scootaloo episode, following the pattern(sweetie belle ep 5, applebloom ep 6)
