I dont understand why it's doing this as I've seen someone with worse computer than me pulling 60fps constantly ,_, Just for reference can you do a much lower quality stream? Try a 480p / 30 fps / 1000 kbit/s. For an additional reference you might wanna try out FME too.
I have literally no knowledge about streaming, and I have no idea how you set a 480p stream up. I do understand the fps one and the bufferrate thingie, though. ,_,

Are you able to stream those games?
As we talked in PMs you said you CPU hits +90% while streaming BW. That's a pretty clear indicator on where the problem is though.

has anyone else had a problem where they have BW with the stream open take up >90%cpu usage? what could be the problem with this if i have q6600@2.4ghz?

have video quality @1 & bit @500 still lag the hell out Wait, what resolution and FPS are you streaming with?

That CPU isn't top of the line for streaming. Streaming is very CPU intensive, it might not be a BW problem. Try out SC2 for reference

i just figured out what the problem is, but its pretty much the same as not streaming. it hella lags out if i use my normal setting for bw (windowed mode with 2x magnify) but in normal windowed mode its way too small and i don't like full screen (can't work in full screen either).
any way around this?
i messed around with the settings and also got my cpu to ~50% with everything open
and streaming with the rec (1280x720) res and put FPS to 20.

Just played around with a few settings here and there.. raised the buffer to 7500~8000 and its working wonders now!
http://sv.twitch.tv/fnxlol/b/296811270 for a sample. Will proabably play around with the quality and stuff. Thanks for the guide (and the extra help) man !
Edit: actually nevermind that.. after awhile it drops down to 20ish fps. ,_,

That much buffer is ridiculous anyway :D. Please try a 480p stream, just for reference - I'd like to know if that runs well or not. Also, are you able to record locally (not streaming) and keep the FPS up where it belongs?

Hi there,
I´m streaming from germany and i want to know with which quality and bitrate i should stream :x
My System: core i72600k @3,8 ghz 8 gb ddr3 ram geforce gtx580 amp! 100/6 mbit down/upload
I want to stream at 720p with 30 frames.. So i need to know which quality i should use, which preset.. which location and which bitrate / buffer ^^
Thanks a lot :D

Location: Try the London server, or else the "Main Origin Cluster" Preset: Medium (because your CPU is freaking awesome) Quality: 10 Bitrate/buffer: 2000/2000
If you wanted to, you could do a 1080p stream, no problem: Increase bitrate/buffer to 5000.
For reference, I'd like to see a VOD and if you would be so kind to tell me the ingame FPS + CPU usage on each core (maybe screen shot) that would be cool!

A decent stream imo. Keep tweaking it - monitor the CPU usage (and ofc temps) . The mouse cursor can be "disabled" (hidden) in scene options - check there if you have it hidden. Feel free to come back with further questions

Now running 965 BE @ 3.7GHz stable with normal voltage ^^ (heats less!), gotta go and try tweaking again.

So i tried xsplit and twitch.tv stream and it just lags i believe isnt my setup, since it works awesome to own3d.tv
Pc specs: i7-2600k 4.5Ghz HD 6970 8GB ddr3 1866mhz (i have extra 8gb ddr and 1 6970 , outside due to overclocking , cooling issues) and a random SSD from Gskill.
Settings i tried: Preset default xsplit quality 8 bitrate 2500 buffer 4000 720p
Internet: 100/20 mbits speedtest results 90mbits / 21 mbits to a server in portugal
I believe is my connection to twitch.tv or something could you advise some servers etc for i try later ? Atm it just blacks and freezes all the time like 20sec freezes

Hi there,
Thanks for you quick answer and sorry for my late response :x Got a little bit rl trouble ^^
2000 bitrate and 2000 buffer is the best for 720p streaming? What would happen if i stream with 3000/3000? or 5000/5000 in 720p? Would this lag or would it look like the same with 2000/2000? :x
I test streamed Rage with 3000/3000 and your other setting tups and i get lagspikes from time to time. Could it be because of the quality setting 10? I have the feeling that he uses much more uploading when you set it to 10,
Screenshots will follow soon.. ^^

First increase your Max Bitrate to 5000. Second, in "location", select a server near you that is online. See this:

If that doesn't help, experiment with decreasing/increasing the buffer. The buffer setting is really weird - for some it must be higher than the max bitrate, for others lower. Technically it should even matter, so it's hard to give good advice on that setting.
Edit: This is fresh of the XSplit forums:
It seems most portals use a flash buffer below 2 sec. We have therefore changed the default vbv-buffer to 1 sec. This settings should really be matched against each of the streaming services supported (we will get to that) In addition to that, XSplit are experimenting with some "test tools" that help determine optimum settings. Seems we're going to get "help" on the issue very soon.

I've got about .5mbps upload, what should my optimal settings be?
