I was in France at boarding school, and I was 14. She didn't speak English, I didn't speak Polish, and neither of us really spoke French. We sort of eyed each other for about a week. We would walk together when we went places. Then, on the last day before I left, we kinda almost kissed. And then boarding school ended and we parted ways.
We wrote each other emails, at first, (yes, this is back when email was the way to communicate), and she would sign them "Love, Daria" and I would sign with love as well, and it felt wonderful, and we told each other everything about our young, teenaged selves. I could share anything with her, and I did, and she shared everything with me, and we both wanted nothing more than to be with each other. I guess this was the first time I was ever in love.
But eventually the emails slowed, from once a day to once a week, then from once a week to every now and then, until at last they stopped, and then I was alone and in sophomore year of high school and a nerd rather than an interesting American from sunny California, and missing the beautiful Polish girl who was almost my first kiss.
Eh, they come and go. To this day I haven't got a clue why I didn't make a move on this absolutely scorching hot girl from Trinidad (spoke way too godamned fast though - felt like a jerk asking her to repeat herself all the time) who was literally all over me during my first week on exchange to Canada like 7 years ago. I'd never been hit on by a woman before, so I guess I was just paranoid. No idea what happened to her. Now I'm getting married in 2 weeks and couldn't be happier.

Kinda reminds me of Pineapple Express.
Angie Anderson: Fuck you, Dale. I lost my virginity when I was fourteen, okay? How many women have you even slept with? Dale Denton: Like two and a half. Angie Anderson: Two and a half? What is a half, your hand? That doesn't count!

We were sort of chilling on her bed and kinda almost kissed. ._. but we didn't. We were cuddling with our faces close together, I guess. She was expecting me to make a move, but of course, I was 14 and lacked both

It's in your power to turn this from the sad story of a love that never was into the story of how one man turned his crushing loss into something beautiful.
Loose Plot:
Send her a link to this blog post.
Rekindle the romance.
Chat constantly, send pictures.
After months, ask her to have a videochat on Skype.
When she signs in, she'll only see black, as though there's something wrong with your camera, or something covering it.
When she complains that she can't see you, pop open the ring box that you've cleverly positioned directly in front of the camera. Such will be your artifice that the engagement ring within will twinkle in the light of the candles you've lit around it.
After the credits, a hammer-and-tongs blitz through the airport, to a plane, to Poland. Plane lands, cut immediately to him and her in bed smoking. Fade to black
She never replies to his email, having long since abandoned her hotmail account. To salvage funds, movie is cut down to short film about teenager's almost-romance, then vignette of his development into man who misses Polish woman.
At the very end, we see him write an email to his lost love. Fade to black.
Depending on the feel, this may be followed by an image of a man at a laptop aging incredibly quickly. He sits motionless as crow's feet spread from his eyes, shiny with unshed tears. A beard grows in seconds, turns white, and the camera begins to pan out. The image fades out just in time for us to see the mail client on his start bar highlight orange.

Yes we speak very fast. Foreigners have a lot of trouble understanding us. Funny because to me Americans speak slowly. Im surprised you didnt complain about her colloquialisms which should be impossible for Americans to understand unless of course she didnt use them.
Listening to this song and re-reading the post for a more emotional experience.
That's such a heart-wrenching Anime... like, you'd think it would be too over-the-top dramatic, but really it's just touching and deeply... something. Nostaltic? I guess. </3
