A friend (ahem, zerg friend ;D) of mine at one point actually suggested marines should have an ammo system where they need to regenerate ammo, like a carrier or reaver. LOL.
Also, don't Hydralisks throw needles out from the back of their spines or something? That is bullshit, where do they get so many goddamn needles? Are they heroin addicts????
Hmm... If you think of the units of zerg as different types of addicts it becomes a whole lot more interesting.

it powers a microwave so that the banshee pilot can enjoy hot pockets, his favorite food.
But how does the turbine work in space?

I'm bothered by the fact that Gauss rifles make a noise, as well as have shells. Do you even know what a Gauss rifle is blizzard? There isn't any need to case Gauss darts nor would there be any sound :'(

I'm more surprised by the fact that you aren't surprised by...
Marines/Marauders needing to reload. Tanks/hellions needing to refuel every now and then. Zerglings panting after running at 600mph. All biological units not getting hungry after a while. How mechanical units don't suffer from malfunction every now and then.
etc.
:/

Mutalisks flap their wings in space...
Also, by that pic, it looks like there is some kind of back rotor...

A jet with 4 engines must be able to fly (for a certain distance) on one engine, which means its tail and rudder needs to be sized so that it can fly in a straight line with unbalanced thrust.
Helicopters with multiple counter-rotating rotors are also designed so that in the event of one engine failure, both rotors can be driven by a single engine. This results in some pretty complicated mechanics, especially in a beast like the Osprey.
So my assessment of the situation is that instead of cross-linking the two lift rotors so that both can be powered by a single engine in case of a failure, the engineers felt a tail rotor could provide sufficient torque to allow the banshee to fly in a straight line, counteracting the torque from the main operating rotor. Believe it or not, the tail rotor may have been the cheaper alternative of the two.
Not only that, but the tail rotor is used for directional control. Some multi-rotor helicopters use differential torque for yaw control, but on the banshee this would also induce roll, and there's no room for cyclic rotor control inside the fenestrated rotors. A rudder would be sufficient at high speeds, but would not provide any maneuvrability at low speeds, which would be an incredibly poor design for a vehicle that has to stop to fire a missile.
lol good post.
OP: The rotor design of the banshee is very complicated and can't be compared to standard helicopters. It's a futuristic flying machine that utilizes the multiple rotors to perform more agile movements than modern helicopters can.... not to mention the obvious failure-defense benefits.

Like, the damage should decrease if you've been pounding a rock for 5 minutes straight....
Hitting those rocks like that should INCREASE the damage zerglings do. It's like, sharpening their claws on that rock, bro. Like how cats use scratching posts. Think about it.

Maybe they use explosives as a secondary or first propellant? Or use the coils for fast loading.
But that doesn't explain how marines can shoot so fast without the barrel overheating (if explosives is used). They don't have to change magazines either!
And where would the electrical energy come from if it was a true "gauss gun". Maybe the cartridges are just spent batteries
The sound can be explained by the projectiles going supersonic.

What's up with that?
How does using a drug speed up the firing rate of your gun?

It could be a semiautomatic and it increases the rate you pull your trigger.

A Mag rail firearm would still make a lot of noise due to the projectile breaking the sound barrier, look at how much noise a silenced rifle makes with non subsonic ammo.

Yep. when they take the stim they learn how to switch to full auto but still fire in controlled bursts obviously. lol Why can't we leave the flying DT's alone OP?!?!

:/ Those are things that would affect game play, the aesthetics of a banshee would not.

Dude who's controlling the Raven? It's obv fly by remote but WHERE IS THE GUY? Is he living in the tech lab? Is there a little man flying ravens in my tech lab?
What if I lift off the starport? He's still flying the raven, he hasn't gone anywhere. What if, by chance, some asshole mutalisk kills the tech lab? THE RAVEN STILL WORKS! That guy must be living in the CC..
Also while I'm at it, why the hell are battlecruisers the size of 30ish marines? Apparently they can hold wraiths but those things are like 20% the size of the battle cruiser itself. What the hell?
