its really this. Considering how good a lot of ex bw progamers are and how good they are doing at sc2, I would really like to see a top S class from bw eventually switch over just to see if they do as good as I feel they could.
But I also don't want that to happen because I do love watching bw still so its almost like it would be cool but lame at the same time :/.

IIRC, Bisu and Savior played a very early version of SC2. BW pros aren't just BW pros, they're also gamers and a lot of them keep up (at least info-wise) with the current trends. Jaedong was allegedly a pretty fierce FPS player. As a practical matter, every BW pro, whether on the B-team/Dreamleague level, A-team/Proleague, or S-Class/Ace player should know a bit about SC2. It's not a question of the BW scene dying or anything, but you have to be prepared because shit does happen. BW could die not because of SC2 but because of internal politics between the KeSPA affiliates (afaik it's CJ vs SKT - don't quote me on that though).
On the possibility that the BW scene collapses, then it would be better for the players to be familiar with the alternative game than be completely left in the dark.
