Stormy weather in Korea as well as in MvP, just one week after the deal signed with compLexity, its manager and one of its players chose to join US Team Check-Six.
The player is the Protoss Kim "Lure" Do Kyeong which was defeated first round of Code A against Jeong MVP Jong Hyeon during last GSL season. But he managed to deal with the fearsome qualifications and at only 16 years old is maybe one of the rising stars of the Korean scene.
The surprise is the departure from the manager, Ahn Min Woo, from confidential PlayXP sources he is the one who convinced the young player to follow him in the US powerhouse Check Six. The new couple and their new team had trouble communicating in a first time, but Kim "Shadow" You Sik, Korean already member of Check-Six's SC2 section and exchange student in the US stepped in to make the process easier.
Right now this info hasn't been confirmed by CHeck Six, this surprise departure may also result from a misunderstanding inside MvP's staff about the deal signed with coL last week.

So pumped at all the cross-region love players and teams are showing.

Wow, 1 week later. I wonder what the Korean reaction will be to this now...?
|
So many Koreans joining foreign teams, wow.
|
Interesting news. 16 y/o is pretty young in SC2 scene for a pro, so maybe his potential is very great
|
I wonder if all of these Koreans joining foreign teams will help increase the skill level of the foreigners to compete with Koreans at events like MLG.. It is all very interesting indeed!
|
I'm very surprised that the manager left? Actually kind of shocked that he would leave the team he built. Sad to here.
|
Are there any koreans left?
This sure is getting interesting. Nice to have more connections across the globe.
|
Yet another one. We'll see in due time if this situation proves to be for better or worse.
|
Wow alot of koreans Transfering to other teams many more will probably do aswell :/
|
lol i thought someone lured MVP to Check-Six. -phew-

I can see some non-GSL Koreans move over since getting into Code A is super difficult, but I wouldn't worry about the top level players. We might see one or two big names like Puma switch over if they don't stay in the GSL Code A/S system, but Korea will probably lock down most of the top players with contracts after the EG/Puma debacle.
All in all, a Korean prospect is switching over to an American team to have a better shot at making money. Since he got knocked out of the GSL, he'll have a tough time getting back in after losing in the first round of Code A.
Weirdest thing is the manager leaving. I liked the coach, but I always disliked his choices in matches. Maybe now they'll use Keen/Genius more in the GSTL and not force DongRaeGu to 3-kill every match to save their ass.

K what team will get a korean tomorrow? Lol this is getting absolutely ridiculosu

Lure moving isn't really that gigantic, though. From what I remember, he showed promise in Code A, but wasn't that great.
I just wonder who'll take over as coach now? Maybe a player will go the Choya route and become coach now that they have funding by Complexity?

this is kinda cool really. it's like so much trading is going on.
