Everyone needs to blow off steam somewhere, and that thread should never be considered anything more than that. Overall though, unless you're actively trying to argue something that is completely wrong with someone who is objectively better and has considerably more knowledge, all ideas are welcome. And if you are wrong, and someone has tried this, usually they are willing to discuss why it is the way it is with you. Provided of course you're willing to actually discuss it that is. For all the answers in this thread that have been 'I want to play with better people' I'd say just as many are 'I'd like to reach my personal peak' as well. I also think there's a difference between playing with players that don't know their heroes and talking about those heroes. It's aggravating to play with people that didn't even bother to look at a guide..or don't know how to stack and pull. However, it's different when you're discussing an item build. Sometimes it's easy to feel talked down to, but you need to keep it in perspective. There are a lot of DOTA veterans on this website. While it might feel like you're being talked down to, keep in mind that you probably feel that way bc you're on the internet (no voice inflection) and that the people that are telling you certain things about the game are saying that bc they have way more experience than you. As you browse the site you'll know whose points of view you align with and who you can trust when they tell you that you're wrong. TL;DR: stick around and have a conversation with someone and you'll stop feeling talked down to. | ||
