Although just a question in general for anyone to answer. Does anyone even do touch typing or know anybody that does? Not like doing it intentionally but they actually type like that naturally.

I've naturally touch typed for like 10 years and my dad has done so for maybe around 25+ years as his job... At least 2 of my friends also do it naturally. My sister touch types with 8 fingers but doesn't that count as well because she never looks at the keyboard?

I thought most people on the internet know how to touch type? I'm still trying to learn to touch type on numpad, since I dont't use it that much.
My mom pretty much had me learn how to type at very early age, she knew computer skills were going to be important at an early age. So when I was like 7, I started touch typing.... So 14 years experience for me...

Dude omg what is wrong with me today. I guess working and studying so much really is fucking up my head. Whatever that term is where you lightly press the key and not bottom out. FML I'm going to sleep, I really need it.

A lot of schools actually don't have typing classes or anything like that, which is pretty weird considering most of the people who come from school are going to be using a computer in some way during their professional life..

Well i personally live in one of the bigger cities in the netherlands but i've never had a touch typing class in my life. Maybe the younger generation (good god that makes me sound old) does get them by now but i've never heard of it. Until last summer i was self taught and me playing a lot of video games meant my left hand was way more developed at typing then my right hand was, which held me back quite a bit :p But then i discovered this typing app from the google web store that really helped me out in terms of typing, and now i can touch type without error at about 75-80 wpm or 110 ish when i'm really trying. For anyone that wants to try it, look for TypingClub.

It is not that hard to learn to touch type with 10 fingers if you put your mind to it. Use a free type learning program and practice 30 min a day and it won't take too long to reprogram your brain. The first week is the hardest as your fingers want to fall back into their old pattern but then it gets easier and easier until you don't have to think about it at all.

Yeah definitely. I really had to force myself to do what the program told me the first time i tried it and i constantly went back to what i was used to, but if you do it every day typing with 10 fingers will become what you are used to. It's a tough nut to crack but once you've done so it's really good.

After a few weeks he could do about 40 word per minute, granted that he had to still look at the keys though but I was still impressed nonetheless.
The way I learned to type was actually through Runescape. If anyone remembers when you had to go to either "World 1 or World 2" in order to get to the biggest trading worlds, you had to sit there in Falador or Varrock all day spamming the same message over and over. I did this for around three to four years and that's how I learned how to type and how to type fast. However, I still do get a minor grammatical errors because my hands begin to type before I even think.

lmao. Sovano is talking about not bottoming out I'm sure. It depends on the switch ofcourse. I use red switches for my Rosewill and I always bottom out. I love the sound so I don't mind at all. But not bottoming out is hard on most mechanicals i think.

Nevermind my stupidity. My PBT keycaps came in today Only complaint is the grey casing on the CM Storm but oh well I love the color arrangement anyways. Although the picture quality doesn't do the colors much justice. I wish I could have gotten the white version of the Filco Majestouch. Man would this look even better. Maybe some other day though.

I touch type (never look at keys) and I only use my thumb to hit the space bar.

Yeah and even then I only use one of my thumbs for that.

Well the 60 dollars was including tax, so it's around the same price I got it for.
