Quiet keyboard been invented for a while... Topres are fairly quiet, and o-ring modification deadens a lot of the sound. Sure does sound like a lot of BS PR stuff.

Are there mechanical keyboards outside of Korea that have Hangul on them?

I'm looking to buy a new keyboard here soon. One feature I'd like is to be able to change what each key does. For instance, I'd like to be able to basically "move" the shift key to the space bar (really wish SC2 would allow us to remap the shift-key functionality.) I've looked into several keyboards and the only thing I've seen that seems to suggest this is possible is the Blackwidow's "fully-programmable keys". Although, I'm not 100% sure that means what I hope it means.

Any suggestions on keyboards that allow this functionality, if any?

You can do that with any keyboard with software. Like shiftkeys or autohotkey.

edit: I think its sharpkeys not shiftkeys

O wow... I assumed it had to have support at the hardware level. I'm definitely going to check this out.

Edit: On the other hand, if the Blackwidow has this feature built-in, combined with Razer's multiple profiles (I can revert to normal functionality when not playing SC2), I'd still probably prefer the keyboard over just using sharpkeys. If anyone can confirm the Blackwidow supports this functionality I'd appreciate it.

Here are two screenshots of the UI I just made.
You can map any key, macro or program to any key. You can't, however, bind modifier keys (shift, ctrl and alt) to other keys by default.
I suppose you could make a macro and still have this functionality, I'll try it in a bit!

Uh if I'm interpreting this correctly you made the user interface for the Razer BW driver program...? Anyways yes you can rebind most keys with that driver provided you downloaded it off their website.

Ya, let me know if that ends up working. My end-goal is to be able to map shift to spacebar, right-ctrl to right-alt and escape to f4. I came up with a hotkey layout where I rest my fingers on fghj. It would be killer, but for it to work I need to be able to make those shift/ctrl mappings.

P.s. I hope this discussion is appropriate for this post. I thought it would be preferable to discuss it here rather than create a new thread.

Rosewill brown's came in today. I honestly can't feel the bump unless I press the key's down slowly. The noise is around the same as my cheap-o membrane keyboard, but I do have an a/c on almost right next to my face so doesn't really make a difference. For some reason I kept hitting some number keys when using the upper row of letters, although, now that I've used it for a couple hours I haven't hit them again.

I'm glad I made the purchase after having past on them a couple months ago. That was mainly due to the reviews talking about how the mino-usb connector would get loose and no longer make a connection after a couple weeks.

I tried pressing on a mechanical cherry red switch rosewill keyboard, for a guy who uses your generic dell keyboard I couldnt really tell the difference. To be fair I didnt type or play on it. Can anyone explain why people say once you go mechanical you cant go back?

You seriously couldn't tell the difference between reds and membranes? o_O There's nothing similiar in them... The most obvious one is that the red cherry starts moving a lot sooner whereas with membrane you need a lot more force to make it budge and then it moves all the way instantly while with red cherry it's gradual. You also need way less force and don't need to push them all the way.

Not sure about others but I use topre and it's really difficult to type on a membrane keyboard nowadays

red is harder to tell the difference than blue or brown as it doesn't have the tactile click. Its not just the keys on these boards that make them amazingly better, its also the quality, key spacing, key height, and the fact that they dont require you to bottom out on them to type, which means that the better the typer the better the experience.

Whoops, my fault, I meant that I just made the screenshots.
Anyway, I was able to bind shift to space.
I made a macro which presses shift and releases it after 10ms, and have that macro be repeated while spacebar is down.

Yes the full red is definitely better than the checkered layout. Any reason why you got the ninja keycaps though?

I thought the black text on red on top looked too intrusive.
plus this set was pretty cheap, only 14 bucks.

Maybe you're just not used to them yet? I was misclicking stuff also and still kinda am. But the more I use them the less I keep mistyping. My wpm was down for awhile but have actually gone up as I keep using them.
