Most people would say that it's a very solid keyboard, but the spacebar feels kinda weird. I was thinking about getting that or a leopold fc700r, is there any real difference or things i should know. I'm currently using a old dt-35 btw Leopold doesn't have a numpad, has better quality key caps and comes in cool colours. They are pretty even, but I would go the Leopold. Unless you had a group buy going somewhere. Anyways I second that statement about the Duckys. I'm a sucker for backlit keyboards, and this video just shows how great the LEDs are on the new keyboard. Especially between 6:23 and 6:46 in the video. That's just sexy man. If you're talking about the numpad, due to the large interest in them WASDkeyboards will make a set for $20 USD + shipping ,which is globally $3 USD, so $23USD.

Only thing I would keep in mind, the "glowing" setting for the back-lighting only has one brightness setting. Personally, I found it a bit too bright, so I'm sticking to the all keys and the light on press settings.

Did they switch the keycaps they used to use on the CM Storm QFR blues? As someone who is looking to buy one of those exact keyboards from overseas, what exactly was wrong with it, and do you know if it's a common flaw? Thanks in advance.

Gaming as opposed to heavy typing, at home where noise is not a problem as opposed to a work environment where loud keystrokes can piss off your coworkes, full size vs space savers, etc. Can't really give a recommendation with that little information.

There will be a problem with button fittings, each row has different heights, unless you use a blank key caps, and switch keyboard setting on the computer.

Gaming and typing, going to use it for everything. At home, but as I'm still living with my parents noise is something I have to consider, tried out the MX-Blue switches in a store today, where they didn't seem that loud, but in complete silence they might be...? Space isn't a problem, as long as it's standard sized.

Blues aren't that loud (at least compared to my buckling springs; now those were LOUD). If you do get blues, and find them to be loud, just do o-ring modification to them. Blacks are nice for gaming, I actually like them for typing, they remind me of buckling springs in the way they type, but most would disagree with me.

The vendor who is going to sell it keeps delaying its release date while dropping vague statements ("We HOPE to have it by [next month/mid-next month, next week, etc].

It wasn't anything that was wrong with it, but something that was my own fault. My little brother was using my CM Storm QFR and he spilled a ton of orange juice onto the keyboard. I cleaned out most of it but a few keys just lost its clickiness and my left arrow key got stuck. Otherwise it's a solid keyboard especially for its price. Space isn't a problem, as long as it's standard sized. As for your original question the Filco Majestouch 2 is an amazing keyboard from what I hear. A lot of people on GH have it and they just absolutely love it. However, if you're going to buy a mechanical keyboard there's just really two major decision you have to make. Switch type and either TKL or a full-sized keyboard. Personally I took a risk and went for blue switches with a TKL keyboard blindly. It takes some time to get used to but the TKL definitely feels better for me when gaming. Except for DotA 2 where I use the arrow keys often. Currently I'm at my new home living with three others, and the blues are just too loud to use even when touch typing. Although as wei stated browns seem to be your best bet with the switch type you would ideally prefer based on your usage. If it really comes down to it and you just don't like either the keyboard you have or the switches you got, you can just simply return the keyboard and try another. I'm certainly doing that as I'm waiting for my brown switches to come in tomorrow night. If I decide I like blues more I'll just return my browns and just deck out my keyboard haha.

Are there any companies that use topre switches, other than the exuberantly expensive happy hacking keyboards? Found a couple, but they're just as expensive as happy hacking keyboards... wtf, are topres more expensive because of the lack of demand, or they're more expensive to make?
