Here's a picture someone posted on Geekhack. ![[image loading]](http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=33408.0;attach=889;image) I posted that pic on GH. Thanks to my friend Dave for getting it out to me for all to see. Is it just with the reds? I got the rosewill with blue a couple months ago and the usb connector seems fine to me for now.
same issue with any Rosewill rk9000 afaic. Only thing that differs is the switches.

Well, i guess i'm going for the Tesoro Durandal, thanks Just gonna try to find it with red switches , since they're a bit softer on typing then the brown ones (from what i read). Any idea though where i could get one in Europe ? Iso layout preferably.

Tesoro's website says they only come in brown. Though they are coming with backlit aluminium keyboards in red, but I would expect that to be way outside 80 euro.
So I guess Qpad seems like a good choice for you.

In Sweden Tesoro Durandal comes in Black, Blue, Brown, Red. I see no reason why France shouldn't have them aswell.
|
Well, they're only available via import, they're not sold in France. The only ones in can find (import) are with brown.

Cant decide.
Atm im thinking about CM Storm QuickFire Pro with MX Reds or Browns. What do you guys think ?
I'm asking cuz i cant 'check by myself' how the reds or browns feels like, and ill order this keyboard from overseas so there could be a problem with return and order another one.
Gonna use keyboard for: lots of typing / starcraft 2 / World of Warcraft.

I do wonder how "stiff" blacks are. Actuation is supposedly 15 g more for blacks than reds. That 15 g difference must feel substantial. If you're a long time gamer, or plan to game for a long time, I would get reds. I've been gaming for >10 years now and will probably stick to red switches for life lol

my new white kbt race s !!!! red switches and i love it, i came from black switches and they really are a ton lighter i prefer them but i did like my blacks as well i just wanted a smaller keyboard and they dont come much smaller than this :D the really close F keys help a lot when using camera hotkeys only thing i would say is that im from the uk and they only do this in us layout and its taking me a while adjusting to the little enter button and having a huge shift bar lol keep miss clicking enter a lot, sorry for second picture quality its from iphone but its just to show the lights

i'm not sure if i should be posting this here in this thread but, over the past ~4months or so i've had a very annoying problem with my keyboard. it's a Filco Majestouch Brown Switches that i bought from elitekeyboards, warranty there is 1year and i've had it for 2years now so can't ask for a new one. I'm having key chattering/bouncing or as i like to call it 'double tapping' on the spacebar and the 's' key.
Key "chattering" or "contact bouncing" is a natural occurrence in mechanical switches that can cause one switch press to be detected as multiple presses. Under normal switch operation the digital electronics in a keyboard will filter out a small amount of natural chatter/bounce, however, in the case that an individual switch is damaged or defective, the amount of chatter/bounce can become too large to be filtered. The result is a repetition of key input seen on your computer screen for only one intended key press. This is a problem that affects only the broken switch and is a problem that is covered by your EliteKeyboards warranty.
Went to see someone here that tried to fix it but couldnt fix it completely even tho it seems to be slightly better now since he told me hes not really that comfortable with keyboards he didnt want to risk damaging it even more, i can't really find anything on google and don't really want to pay for a new one either, at first it was only a bit annoying but as time goes on its getting more and more frustrating since everytime i'm typing i gotta erase and go fix the double space or double 'ss' that randomly appear even tho i'm only pressing the key once, anyone has any idea of what i could try ?

I fixed mine by taking the keycap off and working the switch fairly roughly. But that was when it was new, so not sure if this will work for you. Could try blowing some compressed air into the switch?
Otherwise the only solution I know of is the replace the switch. Take your s key switch out and replace it with a switch you don't use, scroll lock for example. But apparently (never done it) this is pretty labour intensive, and involves soldering. Try asking at deskthority or the resurrected geekhack, they might have some more ideas.

I'm thinking of buying a replacement keyboard for my Das Professional S which I had a spill accident with leaving the switches sticky and, while usable, nothing of what it first was. I was considering switching over to brown switches--is it a big difference? I really enjoy the feel of the blue switches and love the sound, but I sometimes find I won't completely lift a key before hitting another one (when queuing commands in SC I'll find myself adding that unit to another control group because I haven't completely lifted my finger off the shift key). Also--should I try a Ducky keyboard with brown or blue switches or stick with Das?

Yes browns are very different, kind of clunky and gritty compared to the crisp clacking of blues (can you tell I prefer blues?) and don't have the difficulties in doubletapping.
I don't see any reason to get a ducky over a Das unless you want to save some money or want backlighting.
Also you should be able to clean your Das, if the stickyness is inside the switches you can even resort to soaking the entire thing in isopropyl alcohol. Das keyboard themselves share how to do it here.

My friend spilled beer in his and had a few sticky keys. Told him to clean it with isopropyl alcohol but he somehow fucked up and now more of the keys are messed up. I think it's because the grease on the springs got taken off though. How would one be able to tell the difference between the spring being messed up or it still being sticky?

Well afaik there isn't any grease on the spring, its on the contacts in the switch. So it should feel like metal rubbing against plastic instead of stickyness. But Ive never done it, so this is just speculation.

I think the clicky sound is awesome and never had any problems of getting annoyed by it after a while but I always use a headset and it isolates most of the sound.

That's actually reason #2 you buy this keyboard
Reason #1 is the feel of the click of course

yea the sound of blues is great and is loud compared to most boards. Shoudln't be a problem if you have your own room or place. It's quite enjoyable.
