My friends hear me playing sc2 when on vent. But its more background noise, it won't drown out your voice.

Okay, but if u watch like destinys stream when hes playing, he must be using blue switches cuz it sounds like a machine gun when hes typing. Im just worried, cuz im on skype like everyday. But i tried out a Ducky G2PRO with blue switches and it was really awsome!
BTW, what do you guys think about the Ducky G2PRO mech with blue switches??

Well I guess it depends how you have your mic setup, mine is at my neck on my headphone cable. Maybe Destiny has a desk mic?
That Ducky is good as long as it isn't too expensive (shouldn't be much more than $150).

Afaik (don't have one) they are ok. Not the best build quality but they are pretty cheap. Decent choice if you don't want to spend too much.

I was considering switching over to brown switches--is it a big difference? I really enjoy the feel of the blue switches and love the sound, but I sometimes find I won't completely lift a key before hitting another one (when queuing commands in SC I'll find myself adding that unit to another control group because I haven't completely lifted my finger off the shift key). Also--should I try a Ducky keyboard with brown or blue switches or stick with Das? Yes browns are very different, kind of clunky and gritty compared to the crisp clacking of blues (can you tell I prefer blues?) and don't have the difficulties in doubletapping. I don't see any reason to get a ducky over a Das unless you want to save some money or want backlighting. Also you should be able to clean your Das, if the stickyness is inside the switches you can even resort to soaking the entire thing in isopropyl alcohol. Das keyboard themselves share how to do it here. My friend spilled beer in his and had a few sticky keys. Told him to clean it with isopropyl alcohol but he somehow fucked up and now more of the keys are messed up. I think it's because the grease on the springs got taken off though. How would one be able to tell the difference between the spring being messed up or it still being sticky? Well afaik there isn't any grease on the spring, its on the contacts in the switch. So it should feel like metal rubbing against plastic instead of stickyness. But Ive never done it, so this is just speculation.
Yeah, I seem to have done the same thing. I've tried three times using alcohol (once dabbing some alcohol on the switches, the second using q-tips to apply more to the switches, the third time pretty much just pouring it on the switches and board). Each time the switches feel fine while it's wet but become almost too sticky to use once it dries (the board does work find when plugged in, the key action just feels much different). I'm going to try calling Das today and seeing whether they have any other suggestions otherwise I'm just gonna buy a new one I guess, this time without the labels on the keys

Update: called them and they said they would send me a replacement for $75

Trust me, blue switches are loud no matter how your mic is set up. Everyone pretty much bottoms out so the sound is even louder. You just need to have friends who are okay with that sound. I play SC2 with my friends over Skype and they're completely fine with it, even though I spam my APM pretty high. Although I have tested it on other computers to hear the sound myself and it is quite loud background noise. However, as mentioned before it shouldn't really drown out your voice. So really just make sure your friends are okay with it. Otherwise blue switches are really enjoyable to type on.

I went ahead and bought a replacement, except this time I went with the ultimate B-) It was just too good a deal to pass up.
I've gotten so used to the response on the keys that I was afraid to try the brown switches. Too bad there's nowhere you can really go to try out different switches... wish my friends had some mech boards.
Edit: Also, I'm still gonna try and salvage the board I have. Does anyone know how to properly go about lubricating the switches?

I just got mine in the mail today and i've got to say...I FEEL THE POWER!! But seriously I'm loving this keyboard so far, but my opinion really isn't that valid for i've never typed on a mechanical keyboard before this one. The only con i can think of (if it is one) is that it is a bit louder than my previous non-mech keyboards, but i think that's just how it is with all mech boards.

I'm asking cuz i cant 'check by myself' how the reds or browns feels like, and ill order this keyboard from overseas so there could be a problem with return and order another one.
Gonna use keyboard for: lots of typing / starcraft 2 / World of Warcraft. I would get reds if you are playing lots of games or even black if you don't have a light touch I do wonder how "stiff" blacks are. Actuation is supposedly 15 g more for blacks than reds. That 15 g difference must feel substantial. If you're a long time gamer, or plan to game for a long time, I would get reds. I've been gaming for >10 years now and will probably stick to red switches for life lol
They are pretty stiff. It took me a while to get used to typing on my current keyboard (SS 6gvs) and I used to miss a few commends on SC2 because I didn't press down hard enough on some keys. It doesn't really happen anymore because my fingers have adjusted for the most part. I'm still looking for a a blue or brown keyboard these days though.

damn, that's good to know thanks man. My fingers have taken a beating over the years and woulnd't want to damage them further. Rubber dome was giving my hand lots of aches. The blue switches helped but the red switches are a dream for me(and my fingers lol).

I've heard Blacks feel exactly like Reds and the only difference is actuation force. Can anyone verify this claim?

Lulz. Anyone saying black switches are that difficult to press are overstating it. It's still only 60g. It's just a different feel, not exactly a workout. I wish so many people wouldn't believe the hype.

Yup, they're basically the same, except the MX Reds use a different spring which requires less force to actuate. If you shop around for MX Blue springs you can mod your MX Blacks to 'Ghetto Reds' by exchanging the springs.
Small overview about the different switch types.

Pretty simple. O-Rings are just used to dampen the sound of cherry switches. It's more common to use them on blue switches because of their pure loudness. Others still find the need with quieter switches like browns to make them even more silent. More so its to not bug other people living with you when you use your mechanical keyboard, but some do prefer using them for personal use.
