It is probably going to be expensive and I recommend emailing them directly about getting it in the USA. They are very helpful and have responded (in English) to my requests. I'm a Ducky Shine owner. You can check out the sexy that is the custom settings on the dragon backlit on this youtube page. Other than that, see if you can find a Filco or Leopold Tenkeyless. You can check out an American distributor at this website (I've linked you straight to the tenkeyless page) elitekeyboards.com. Good luck! Hey man, thanks for the help! I might stay away from that Ducky board too, actually-- even though I'm a touch typist, fancy text bothers the hell out of me! Dunno why, lol. What about this one? http://www.amazon.com/Filco-Majestouch-2-Tenkeyless-FKBN87M-EB2/dp/B004WOF7QM It's hella expensive but I've heard really good things about Filco. Leopold is also nice, apparently, but I've heard that it's just not...as solid as some other manufacturers? I dunno...

So the situation is, in Cyprus, most of the shops will probably have Roccat and Razer brands, which i don't really like, for the reason that i don't wanna pay extra for a mediocre product, just because it has all this alien lights. But i've heared that the blackwidow is pretty cheap, and my money are not alot to begin with. The thing is that Razer blackwidow is pretty cheap in comparison with i.e Filco keyboards. So would you recommend Razer blackwidow, or anything pretty much from Roccat or Razer, that is reasonably price for it's quality, else what good keyboards could you recommend(i like tenkeyless keyboards) that are cheaper than brands like Filco. Thank you very much in advance. I'm interested in Zowie celeritas, but it's way out of my budget ![]() EDIT: I think i've found the keyboard perfect for me: CoolerMaster storm quickfire rapid with red switches. I avoid blue switches because my pc is in the hall, and the prize is in my budget, only concern is if i can ship this in Cyprus. ALSO it's tenkeyless which is extra bonus ![]() Leopold? http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless

I prefer reds over browns for StarCraft II. The tactile bump of the browns is barely noticeable, which makes it more of an annoyance than a benefit. The reds, being linear, move straight up and down with barely any resistance. Because of that I find reds to be a better switch for me when it comes to SC2. There's no double-tap issue with either switch; blues are the only common switch that has this problem. When it comes to typing, it's more of a wash between reds and browns. The reds are very light switches and feel like typing on a "cloud of boobs." The light tactility in the browns come in handy when typing; I think the browns feel much more "solid" than reds. Neither of them compare to blue switches for typing; not having tried ergo-clears yet, I have to say blues are my favorite switch for typing. All that being said, my browns are sitting in its box. Reds for StarCraft, blues for everything else. Take that as you will. If it matters, browns are Filco TKL MJ1s and the reds and blues are Filco TKL MJ2 Ninjas. Have fun!

All the switches seem to be working excellent but one.... the t key works but the switch doesnt feel normal. It feels really stiff. Is there anything I can do? tttttt tttt t t t.t Edit: looked into it some and I guess I can replace the whole switch if I can get my dad to help me with some soldering x.X- at least nothing is damaged beyond repair I guess there is water inside, or perhaps some kind of crust after it dried. Look up how to open the switch to clean everything inside. The switch is a tiny box with the bottom and top simply clipped together. I remember seeing some forum post (on geekhack.org, I guess) with pictures. It was a guide on how to make weird crosses between the different switch types, a clear MX switch with the soft spring from brown/blue switches etc. That guide perhaps also has information about what Cherry does to a completely new switch, perhaps there is grease inside and the water did something to it?

What do you say about that? Ive been doing a lot of research about it aswell and the majority people ive spoken to seem to prefer reds > browns as per gaming (this is subjective tho) and as per typing browns > reds. This is only the brawl between those two switches tho. Managed to convince myself of buying a Filco MJ2 TKL Ninja red ![]()

That seems to be the biggest problem with that keyboard from what I've read so far and a lot of people have experienced it quickly becoming loose. Avoid this keyboard. I bought it from Newegg in January and it just broke on me yesterday. There is a small soldered plate on the keyboard where the detachable cable connects to it and it is VERY fragile. I'm pretty pissed off considering I used it for about half a year and kept it in good condition (it just sat on my desk). The keyboard actually felt great while it worked, but it will break on you and a lot of other buyers seem to have the same exact issue with this soldered piece. I emailed Rosewill about this problem, but there's probably nothing that will be done considering it's been about half a year now since purchase.

If any of you are interested in trying out some O-rings to reduce impact noise on your mech keyboards, let me know!! You're more than welcome to try out my trial pack! Thread is here. Both that board and the Leopold are of the highest quality construction in the industry. Filco is widely consider the industry standard. Happy Hacking and other Topre boards are more expensive, but that's because of the switches they use. Honestly, you can't go wrong. It just comes down to the price point and your own particular taste.

FWIW I have two Rosewills as my daily drivers at home and work and have had zero issues with them. They go on sale frequently at Newegg, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them despite a few people having issues with the USB connection. Some people have had connection issues with Pokers as well. Maybe you got a dud, or were just unlucky. But lots of people own Rosewills and there's no general "stay away" consensus.

What do you say about that? Depends what your split will be with typing and gaming. If you're doing more typing than gaming or splitting equal time with typing and gaming, go with the browns. If you're doing more gaming than typing, go with the reds. If you're undecided about either choice, go with the browns. Browns have been the safest choice for someone interested in starting their journey in mechanical keyboards. It's not a "cheap" journey at all.. soon you'll be buying other boards to try different switches as well as all different sorts of keycaps ![]()
